Always love making this one of my favorite stops on my way to OBX. Don't see to many in Pa so I try and make this a stop either on my way down or back. The service is fast and always comes out hot. Also a easy rest stop. The bathrooms were pretty clean surprising.

Yet another Sonic review from us, and yet another star rating based on what we get and where we are. Service was quick and friendly. We got a butterfinger blast and a reeses blast - you can't go wrong! They do ice cream and drinks very well!

Wow...I can't believe I actually ate here and I wish I hadn't...twice.  But this was the only thing open and had to settle for their tator tots.

A reliable stop if you're in the area.  The wait can be a little longer than usual (even if there aren't many customers).

Coming from the Yankee North, Sonic is still a rather novel concept, even though my forage to this particular location was not my first experience. My friend and I had stopped somewhere near the Colorado-Kansas border to lose my Sonic virginity last summer, but I can't remember where precisely.  Unfortunately for the Midwest, I was rather disappointed the morning after (okay, 20 minutes after when the food was gone) having expected to reach some sort of burger and limeade induced nirvana, but instead felt a little dirty and taken advantage of.

Fast forward to Road Trip 09: 1000 Miles in One Weekend.  We stopped to pop two more Sonic cherries, and this time (maybe because I was "experienced") I drove away satisfied.  My burger was a lot better this time, maybe because it was not slopped with mayo. I learned that fries are better than tots.  The employee taking our order handled four different people shouting orders at varying distances from the speaker quite well, and repeated them back to make sure she had gotten it all.  They did mess up one sandwich order twice upon delivery, but were really nice about fixing it and gave extra-extra bacon as consolation.  My drink was overly sugary though, so next time I guess I'll try the low-cal version.

Can't wait to try again this summer when Sonic opens in Massachusetts, I hear the third time is when you really start to enjoy it.

They don't have Sonics in the metropolitan New York area, so on our drive down to Virginia, we found this as the perfect opportunity to stop by Sonic. This has probably been the most downright low-quality Sonic I have been to.

The order was prepared and brought to our car in no more than 5-7 minutes, but it just felt that everything fell short to its full potential. I ordered a Jr. Deluxe Burger ($1), Chicken Strip Sandwich ($1), Jr. Fritos Chili Cheese Wrap ($1), Large Onion Rings ($2.09), and a Corn Dog ($0.99). The Jr. Deluxe Burger was very simple with a piece of over-oxidized and slightly brown lettuce, and a few slices of pickles. The bun was bigger than the 1/8" thick burger, making it taste almost all bread. The chicken in the Chicken Strip sandwich was a decent sized piece of chicken but it was overly dry and also put on a bun and a piece of old lettuce. My mouth was just dying of dryness at this point. The Jr. Fritos Chili Cheese wrap was a real treat with delicious chili and Fritos chips in it.. Yum!!! The corn dog was your average frozen corn dog, nothing too spectacular. The large onion rings were large in portion with about 10 large onions rings deep-fried in some kind of cornbread batter, which gave it a slightly sweet taste. In all, I've had better experiences at Sonic, but everything just seemed to fall short at this Sonic, not to mention they only gave us 3 napkins for 4 people ordering. I had to run up to the building to get some more napkins, which was a bit of an inconvenience.

This Sonic has a reputation of being poorly run and also poorly staffed.  Ordering through a speaker station can be challenging especially if you are asked several times " is that all?" before you are even finished speaking and ordering.  Be sure to check the bag before the car hop leaves your vehicle because chances are you will not be getting what you ordered.  The food is hit and miss....if your order is correct..you are ahead of the game...sometimes the food is decent and sometimes it is not...Drinks are usually good...but they even foul that up...one time gave me a half full cup with no ice in it.  Broken debit card readers challenge you if you dont have cash and after sitting there and deciding what to order you may get messages like..' ice cream machine broke" or..we outta strawberries...
