Southern Reds BBQ

Pork Chops are boneless thin & dry with no BBQ sauce basted on them when cooked. The baked potato was hard, dry and cooked hours before being served. The shrimp is seasoned and cooked well, best part of the meal. Sitting outside next to the hwy where the gas pumps must have been years ago with the big friendly dog talking with friends was such a treat.

This restaurant sits in an old converted gas station in the middle of - well- pretty much nowhere.  The first time my friends took me to Red's I was a bit disconcerted.  The appearance from the outside reminded me of a scene from a scary movie (you know the ones - where the teens walk into a gas station in the middle of ??? and are never heard from again).  However, after tasting the food - the decor no longer mattered.

I had the half chicken and it was so tender it literally melted in the mouth - it was amazing.  My husband ordered the steak ribeye and it was tasty and amazing - cooked perfectly.  Our friends ordered the fish which was flaky and delicious, and a large enough portion for at least two.  

We've been back twice now and leave satisfied every time.

A little out of the way, but more than worth it. The best steak ever, add a skewer of shrimp for a little more, and enough for 2. Staff are friendly and the owner is always around checking on customers. We love it.
