First and foremost, THEY TOOK OUT THE ELVIS PINBALL!!!
I went with a friend that had some free passes, but this place is delusional enough to charge A FIFTEEN DOLLAR COVER! This would be outrageous in Newport Beach, but in Downtown Bellflower, Come ON!
They apparently do not stock Stoli...um hello? This is not an out of the ordinary request.
We went on what was billed as a Spanish Rock night (don't ask), but I think I heard maybe 4 Spanish songs. Â I DID hear at least 5 Doors songs in a row, a Marilyn Manson hit that the crowd got crazy with, some 80s tunes, Black Sabbath, and some Industrial (also a crowd pleaser) towards the end of the night that made me high-tail it to the balcony, which they immediately closed. Â
I found the crowd slightly depressing..I won't get into details because I don't want to offend anyone, but it made me kinda sad. Â
Oh, and why is it in through the back out through the front?
Yech. Â Talk about disappointing.
DO NOT go here on a Steeler's game night. Â They have the volume turned so high, you can't hear the game and during commercials they have the music so loud you can't think, let alone hear anyone. Â We had to text each other. Â I came to watch a game with some friends, not to be at a hip hop club. Â The food was terrible and cold and took 45 min. to get to the table and beer was too expensive.
Review Source:I've been coming here a lot lately (or so it seems) for Got 80's? which is the second Friday of every month. They're supposedly retiring this night in a year or so, and if this is true, it makes me sad because they play THE BEST music ever! I seriously can't stop dancing when I go.
Service at the bar has been slow lately because they only have 2 bartenders working. They're nice guys but they need more help. There's a $5 cover now after 10:30, which is lame, but it's worth paying.
It's gotten a lot more packed so the parking lot is full by the time I get there. There's a lot of street parking or you can park across the street in the lot for Chase.
Oh, I have to mention there's one DJ here who is friggin' AMAZING! I don't know his name but this fool mixed "Bela Lugosi's Dead", "Tear You Apart" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart" all together and you couldn't tell where one song ended and the other began.
okay the last time i came here was a few weeks back. came here just for the sake of watching the 454's and Pachuco Jose Y Los Diamantes. this spikes looks a lot better and is a lot bigger then the one in rosemead. lets just say it makes the one in rosemead look like a dump.... which i like and thats why i go there.
the parking for this joint sucks big ass. if you are gonna go to watch a show, you better get there extra early. the parking lot is extra small. so it sucks. the other down fall of this place is the security guards. they are fucking assholes here. they think they are the biggest and baddest shit ever around. talk about putting on a security polo and fucking getting the feel of being a cop of something. if you stand at certain spots of the bar and drink they will harass you. Â if you go outside to smoke you can step beyond the fence or they wont let you back in.
all in all this place had good shows, but whats kills is is the: parking, the security, and the slow service at the bar.
dude seriously they have good shows here and its pretty good sized but omg turn the fucking ac on nigga. everytime i go there i feel like im in a sauna. and jesus fucking christ upgrade the bar staff. it takes like 30 minutes to geta beer. please please pleasssseeeeee get more bar staff for shows.
Review Source:Im giving it two stars based on the night that I went which was on a friday night in bellflower.
Parking- FREE! and lots of space.
Entrance- 5 dollar cover which is not bad at all.
Interior- it's a resturant/grill by day so it has that kind of feel.
Dance floor- is a decent size.
Crowd- rockabilly greaser kats and dolls with a mixture of goth kids in leather, lol.
Music - 80s/goth/dance. The music was pretty decent..played good 80s but the second half of the night was some odd goth trance music which completely SUCKED. Ruined the mood for sure!
I would only go back for an all 80s night....
Pretty cool joint in the heart of Bellflower. Came here this Friday for a friends bday. Outside is very quiet, and calm. Area is clean. Plenty of free parking.
It was free to get in, though not sure if its always that way. This night was 80's-90's with some old school techno blaring in there as well. Crowd was mostly hispanic. Casual dress attire.
They had a band called the Blackouts who cover a lot of 80's music, which was pretty cool. Especially when they did some Morrissey covers.
Restrooms were clean and ample, and space inside was very open. Â
Only thing, the two female bartenders were to slow...If they would of gotten me my drinks quicker, oh who knows, 5 stars they could of had.
