Spinella's off the wall

We tried this place this past Friday night.  We noticed this place is fairly new in Downtown Gresham and wanted to see what it was.  I have to say the signage is a little misleading.  We weren't sure if it was a comedy club, some sort of live rap venue, a place catering to skaters, or a drive bar.

We were pleasantly surprised once inside.  It's inside a nifty old church that they've turned into a restaurant/bar with a full menu upstairs.  I believe they do live music downstairs, but we didn't go down there.  Anyway, it's definitely a cool setting in an old church.  We were very impressed with the menu--good stick-to-your-ribs kind of food--Burgers, appetizers, sandwiches, pasta, fish and chips, with a large variety of options.  We started out with mozarella sticks with marinara (yum).  Then I had the bacon mac n cheese and a side salad, and my husband had the philly cheeseteak.  The mac and cheese was yummy--very creamy and the salad was good too--not just a plain salad but had some little goodies in it.  My husband liked his philly cheesesteak but said it wasn't the best he'd had but was good.  However, he was very happy they had Ninkasi Total Domination on tap.

Overall, we will definitely be back--nice neighborhood place with a great menu in a cool building.  We might suggest changing the sign a bit though because it's really unclear what exactly "Spinella's off the wall" with a drawing of a guy in a baseball cap means.  Doesn't really denote "nifty bar/restaurant in an old church".
