  My sister and I took my 2 grandchildren last year and we had a blast!  Everything was convenient, not too large, and not too terribly expensive.  One thing which does need improving on: we brought a picnic lunch, and were very disappointed with the "picnic area", which was basically the uncovered concrete area in the front of the entrance into the park.  We didn't mind going out to our car to get our cooler, but we roasted in the hot sun while sitting at the picnic table eating.  I would love to see tables with umbrellas for guests to use.
  Otherwise, it was a super fun day, and we adults enjoyed it as much as the kids did.  We're headed back next week!

  We live about 2 1/2 hours from Alabama Adventure and we have 3 kids, ages 2, 5, and 7.  It's perfect for a short overnight trip or a day trip.
  
  There were several new rides (to me - it had been about 8 years since I last visited) and the water park had a great new layout.  My last visit was from the days of Visionland, and there wasn't very much in the way of rides.
  
  One might argue that the dry park is nothing more than a glorified Fair, but I thought it was fine for our kids.  They've got a great wooden roller coaster and several other thrill rides in addition to the ferris wheel, the carousel, etc.
  
  The park was very clean the day we went.  BTW, go on a Tuesday or Wednesday - the crowd was almost non-existent, even during the summer.
  
  My biggest complaint (and the reason I didnt give 5 stars) was the price of food.  It was ridiculously high, even for amusement park standards.
  
  All in all, it is a great place to go for younger kids to spend a day.

  Where to start... this place could be either really awesome or really awful depending on what you find amusing...
  
  Imagine a land where the mullet never went away.  Where childhood obesity isn't just an epidemic it's endemic.  Where marrying your cousin is still en vogue.  A place full of mystery (what's that brown stuff on the bathroom wall?!), of wonder (what language are these people speaking!?), and of excitement (statistically, how likely I am to die on this ride?!).  Well look no further than Alabama Adventure in fabulous Birmingham, AL!
  
  This place isn't very expensive, which is a plus!  It has an amusement park and a water park (woo-hoo 2 for one).  The water park was pretty crowded, but the amusement park side was far less busy, maybe because it was like 100 degrees out at 11am.  There were no lines for the amusement park rides, another plus, but the queues were often mislabeled leading us to go up the exit then having to go back around to get in the correct side.  There are a few food shops and small stores.  Mostly they seemed nice, but nothing fancy by any stretch of the imagination.  The one bathroom I went in was in really awful shape.
  
  Overall, we were here about an hour before we headed off.  I can really appreciate what this park is trying to do, and I can see its entertainment value for the people of Alabama...but as a somewhat snobby in-town Atlanta urbanite, I found it overall pretty hilarious (hence three stars).  I really enjoyed the combination of every stereotype of the south, and particularly Alabama, conveniently located in one spot.  If you're not into people watching, don't come.
  
  I wouldn't consider this park a destination in itself, but if you happen to be in the neighborhood and have a hankering for some of the most stereotypically southern people you've ever seen, then don't miss your chance to visit Alabama Adventure!

  I wonder why Alabama Adventure isn't more crowded... For the price, this place rocks!  They always have coupons (online, from McDonalds, etc.) so we got in with a BOGO discount, which comes out to ~$20/admission.
  
  The waterslide rides can be a bit long on a hot summer day (~20 minute wait) while the rest of the theme park is relatively unattended.  
  
  Best Rides:
  1) Buzzsaw Falls.  It is so exhilarating when you are engulfed by a flood of biblical proportions -- I have never exited a theme park ride that soaked before!  And the best part?  On your way out, you can take your place on a bridge that is positioned to get you drenched by the next ride.  ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT.
  2) The Rampage is the best wooden roller coaster I have ever been on and each ride lasts an incredible 2 1/2 minutes!  
  3) Neptune's Plunge sends you down one of 4 enclosed tubes that twist and turn.  It's even better on a tandem floatie.
  
  Worst Ride: Woodchuck run.  An utter waste of time waiting in line for 1 of 4 sleds that take you on a ride involving a single pathetic splash.  Trust me, don't bother.
