It always depresses me to go to the Shack so I avoid it as much as I can. It looks like a barn to me. I mean, third world countries have better bars than this. I always get the feeling it is not a clean place and the crowd is not the best. The most impressive thing here is one of the security people, who is huge and intimidating. Besides that, nothing else.
Review Source:2 Stars instead of 1 because you can rent the place out and throw your own party.
The Good: Lots of girls (21?), shuffelboard
The Bad: watered down drinks, weak bartenders, bad service (at least on the weekends)
Things to consider before going: If you meet a girl here you might want to check some ID, they have "lost" my credit card twice. My buddys car was hit and run in the parking lot and the mgmt wouldnt let him see the security camera footage SHADY!!!
Ehh...
As long you go when DJ Kontact is spinning, you're good! Otherwise, get ready for a night of botched transitions and poor music selection. The other DJs' timing is just waay off...and I guess, as a way to make up for the poor DJing is to quickly throw on a crowd fav like "Lollipop" ...psshhhh!!!!
I will say, the women who come here are nice! Sometimes they can look kinda young, but at least most people are dancing. It's coo in that regard. The dance floor is big enough, the bartenders are pretty chill, especially with the beer, but if you want a mixed drink, you gotta tell them to double up on the liquor otherwise you're gonna be sippin' some straight watered-down ice! Yeah, they get down like that.
If there was another place I could go...I'd go! But this is the only spot in town, (craazy, I know) especially coming from SF Bay Area where there are 9 clubs on one block alone! I'm not kidding.
So the way I rate clubs/nightspots, is on..
1. Music/DJ
2. Women/Crowd
3. Drink strength/cost
The best I can give this place is a 3 STAR rating, but when DJ Kontact (who supposedly is an English professor at SFA) is there, then 5 STARS all the way across.
Easy!
