I want to thank my fellow Yelper, Tony D for introducing me to this place. All I got to say about this place is Power Hour = from 9 to 10 every night is $1 well drinks. Â If you have an open mind and are thirsty, I would suggest this place to start your night off right. Â For the most part, people here keep to themselves or are with others, but you'll be entertained for the most part. Â OH, did I mention they have a stripper pole on the dance floor? Â yeah...could be good or could be bad...I'm just here to watch.
There is a whole "other" room on the other side which is where the Drag show is on the weekends. Â There is another cover charge to get into that part of the building.
Alrighty. This was our second stop on the UYE (Unofficial Yelp Event). We chose it because of the infamous power hour. What is this power hour that I speak of? Let me explain:
From 9pm to 10pm, all well drinks are a buck. One. Measly. Dollar.
Double fist or triple first your drinks. Because for one hour, your wallet loves your drinking problem. It actually encourages it. We don't like to call it a drinking problem though. It's more of a appreciation for an inexpensive buzz. Another round! And this one's on me.
But Spotlight has so much more to offer. Highlights include:
1) DJ Jewels spinning the beats while incredibly good looking people dance on stage and on the pole.
2) Brie and Bama. She's one sexy bartender. Nuff said.
3) Pasties and Paddles: a burlesque show that you do not want to miss (PS: I sometimes perform in it)
4) Foam parties: imagine taking a bath with 40 people. Now imagine doing it drunk. You're welcome.
Gay, straight or anywhere in between, this place has something for you.
I was visiting from Seattle for a graduation and unbeknownst to me it was also gay pride weekend! Drove by the other downtown clubs and the Spotlight looked the most busy on a saturday night.
Paid $10 cover (not bad) and entered a small bar area with dance floor and pool table. Drinks were about $5 and made strong.
Drag show on the large side, very entertaining.
At about 11pm the DJ on the small side abruptly started playing totally whack music only to shut down at 11:30. I grew up in spokane and the clubs have always had an issue being up on whats hot.
Fastforward to today and we have the internet! Try <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fc89.5worldwide.com&s=481b0a338a25dda6f4c5c242037d1b03b7a243aabd0c217a09112c1116ea1a54" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://c89.5worldwide.com</a> for a playlist.
Just don't understand why a club with 2 dancefloors would shut down the dancing at 11:30pm on gay pride weekend. Thats just when everyone is getting their buzz on.
Don't ever miss out on the chance to visit the most amazing club to open in Spokane in years! The environment takes you out of Spokane. This club is HUGE! Be Sure to visit both sides on the weekends and for special events. The second side boasts great lighting effects & sound system! The stage is spectacular and set high enough that no matter where you sit or stand you can fully enjoy the entertainment. There is also a VIP section. The Spotlight has already brought in some Hollywood names and even more to come. This venue can also be rented during the day. They have the ability to meet any business need with their talented staff and a full kitchen. When it comes to bathrooms - you will never see a public bathroom as beautiful and spotless as these are. It may be worth a visit just to see these wash rooms. When it comes to the PARTY... WOW will not even cover it. They know how to have fun and deliver it in a safe, fun and entertaining environment. You can even text the DJ. your request. They have the best DJ's the town has to offer and the Spotlight spins with TWO DJ's on the weekends and special events. One on each side. Two clubs in one, truly the best. The interior of the building is decorated with whites and reds. You can even take a seat on one of the many comfy couches and enjoy the view. This is where you will also be able to enjoy seeing the music videos on several screens of the tunes the DJ is playing. You can even play: air hockey, pinball and pool The drinks are delicious and easy to enjoy! They are poured by fun, friendly, and skilled staff! They have many specials that you can be kept updated with on  their facebook site. One of my favorites has been the POWER HOUR - From 9p-10p on Monday and Wednesday nights you can enjoy $1.00 Wells! Seriously tasty!
The Spotlight has quickly become the number one spot to enjoy a night out on the town! It is easy to see why too, with this amazing team of people that constantly provide the best possible experience.
Be sure to take a friend and show them this Gem.
Spotlight in spokane is a really nice gay club. Drinks are modestly nice. The environment is friendly.
---- I need an update to my review because they have cover during the week.. REALLY?... the bar is almost empty and you wanna charge me for cover.. whatever.. I'm going next door..
--- The people who now come to this bar aren't friendly no more, I got pushed about two times while SEATING IN THE BAR by myself RUDE!...
This is a nice bar in downtown Spokane. Â The drinks are decently priced and there are always good specials. Â There is plenty of seating, a dance floor, a stage, and a pool table.
The DJ, well, needs some practice. Â The music transitions were awkward and the "spinning & scratching" were completely out of place. Â I do hope he gets better--the music (with some improvement) could add to the atmosphere.
Amazing new night club in downtown Spokane -- one block East of the already popular Irv's. Â It's nice to have another choice for drinking and dancing in Spokane. Â The interior decor is very very very red, and for some reason... Â I liked that a lot! Â Amazing staff the night I went, and the Owner even introduced himself (always a plus in my book.)
Hope this place grows and succeeds!
