Spring House is a typical little family diner located in quaint Roaring Springs, PA. We stopped in to grab a quick breakfast and some coffee before a big meeting over at the rock quarry.
My over-easy eggs, bacon, and wheat toast were just right, and the coffee hit the spot. All around good place.
BOTTOM LINE: Nice little diner... good eggs, good coffee, good service.
I was in Claysburg for a week with seven others and wanted to find a diner-like restaurant because we're from Jersey, and Spring House Family Restaurant really hit the spot for us. Â Almost all the food was good, decently large portions and cheap. Â Service was pretty good and it's a pretty large joint for bigger groups as well. Â I had the meatloaf special, which was great, and the burgers were really good too. Â If you have a chance to try their honey mustard, it's probably the best honey mustard I've ever had. Â One of my friends had the fried oysters, which weren't very good, but you can't expect to have fresh oysters in the western Pennsylvania. Â Otherwise, the food was great. Â The only reason I didn't give it five stars was the oysters and because I've only been here once. Â Overall, the Spring House Family Restaurant is a great place if you're looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner for a great price.
Review Source:Great for a bit to eat when you are out and about. Â A typical family diner. Â Very clean, with bright lighting and lots of open space. Â They usually have very good daily specials, and you can't beat the prices for the good-sized portions. Â Staff has always been very courteous and friendly. Â I have yet to be there when its really busy... its usually pretty tame. Â Great for family meals or a gathering of friends for coffee. Â Located in Roaring Spring just off of the main route 36. Â The food itself, is really, really good. Â Simple, but good.
