This review is for the restaurant only. Didn't stay at the hotel.
A couple of friends and I dropped in for lunch here last week, as the lady at the Block Island tourist information center said they'd have the best view.
We were given a table on the patio overlooking the ocean and the view was a giant win. Not only did we have the most gorgeous ocean view, the grounds were very pretty and the decor was chic. Beautiful indeed.
I had a martini, which was a bit on the sour side (too much vermouth?) and chose a vegetarian pizza as my meal.
When my friends asked how the pizza was, I answered "it tastes like buttered cardboard". It wasn't revolting- just tasteless and quite difficult to chew.
They had fish and chips and some sort of taco dish. Neither was impressed, but again-nothing tasted bad.
The service was prompt and courteous.
Go here for the views, not the food.
