Holy crap, this is one of the weirdest places I've been in years. Â I think I kind of love it, in the right mood. . . .
From the outside it appears to be a goth/indie/biker dive, but, wait, . . . what??! . . . you step inside the typically neon-lit interior and it's a roomy little hall with of all things a DJ on the low stage playing house-style dance music, complete with a laser show?? Â Not only that, but there's a group of fratty-looking types in the side room with beer pong set up on the ping-pong table, and an air-hockey table in the back along with some second-hand sofas. Â
Sooo, odd mix of stuff, but it works beautifully. Â There's something about the limited choices of small town hangouts that brings all types together. Â It's tolerance and diversity by necessity, and I kinda secretly love it. Â
It's in the same half mile stretch of road that includes a pretty great beer bar, and the diviest dive I have ever in my life experienced. Â There's defi some magic to these southern college towns. Â Actually looking forward to coming back next year!
