Have been here a few times now. The food is OK at best. The service seems to be alright. The activities they have going on are cool. There is a stage in the back for various events.
They have a Simpson's pinball machine, which every bar needs to have a pinball machine. Darts and pool tables are here too.
The restrooms are decent. A little scary, but gets the job done. Overall a good waterin' hole for getting drunk. Interesting people to watch too. plenty of parking available too.
Check them out if you're in the area.
I wanted to have a good night at the Star Bar, but the bartender was just straight up bad. She had a bad attitude, clearly did NOT want to be doing her job, and after a frustrating fifteen minutes trying to get service, it was clear I wasn't the only one she was very rude to. It wasn't particularly busy, but eyes went a rolling when anyone dared pry her from her mobile device. Not one thank you or smile was detected, and the only thing from her mouth on a regular basis was a snotty " Wadda you need?" and the price....god forbid if you ask if the kitchen is open (evidently it closes at 10, or before). Maybe she was having a bad day, or maybe she's salty because she gets the Tuesday night shift, where a majority of the people there are the people performing, and probably drinkin for free....I don't know, but it made me want to leave....which I did after the one drink my $5 cover got me at the door on "Motley Tuesday".
The room has some fun potential with a large bar (same as before), booths, conversation friendly volume during karaoke, and tall tables with good sightlines of a nice little stage in the back.
I'll be giving it a second chance because I like the idea of Motley Tuesday (metal karaoke + open Jam) and mostly because I still have 2 gift certificates that I got for a bargain on <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.halfofftwincities.com&s=1488ce15c6a09a8fb7c0a27813339614912bb4302b556dcca7f8895cd3cac4bf" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.halfofftwinci…</a>.
If Princess Jasmine is the only bartender though again, I'll be more likely to skip it.
