What a great addition to Schroon Lake! Inside the restaurant has a wonderful ADK Â decor with really neat birch tables and carved bear benches for the booths. Â The food and service was fantastic! Make sure you try the Aurora Fettuccini and the Statler Mountain Chicken! Â Both fantastic! Loved it so much I got myself a T-Shirt!
Review Source:It has potential...but needs a lot more work.  Service SLOW.  The wait staff doesn't even know what is on the menu!!!  My pizza was COLD.  The chicken wings raw.  We gave the owner  feedback.  He was there and asked.  He didn't care.  Neither should you.  Save your money and time.  Sorry.
Review Source:Great food, beautiful decor & architecture, friendly staff. I'd rate the quantity of the food as "just enough" and the price as "a little on the high side for the quantity." Even so, it's worth a visit or few because of the great food & environment. Sticks & Stones is just another reason why you don't have to leave the Schroon Lake area to find excellent dining.
Review Source:This place is great! It's a wonderful addition to the area, they needed a place like this. The decor is a great woodsy mountain atmosphere with lots of wood. The food is great, everything from the wood burning oven pizza to the delish salads to the pasta and scallops and oh yea the dessert ( I think it was called a campfire) it was vanilla ice cream with chocolate truffles, pretzel sticks and chocolate & caramel sauces. The owners and staff were very hospitable and efficient. They also have a great outdoor seating area. Lots of luck to them
Review Source:What? Awesome interior and exterior true ADK environment/ furniture/ setting.
We ordered a simple pizza here (shrooms, onions, peppers) and a salad with house dressing.  It fed 2 non-ravenous folks.  It was absolutely excellent!!!  Awesome, high quality, top of the line--I especially enjoyed the salad dressing, enough to ask the chef for the recipe (he laughed as he gave a rough approximation).  We had a beer and glass of wine too.  Talked with the owner as well who is extremely friendly and explained why the pizza, in particular, was so fantastic (cooks at 1,000+ degrees F)--an Italian oven that he bought and shipped there.  When we walked  away, though, we said for $43 (tip-included) we decided it was quite expensive for what it was.
That said, the food here is pushing limits of excellence---something which I appreciate very much. Â Read: hard to find better; incl: Paris, Rome, NYC Hong Kong... etc... you get the point,
