My travel companion and I stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday (~2pm). Â There was only one other table in the bar area, so we were promptly sat. Â Although there were not many people in the place, the waitress was not super prompt in taking our order or delivering our drinks (I was hoping for more regional beers, but they mostly had domestics, with Blue Moon and Sam Adams added in).
The food was fine--I had a burger and my companion had a turkey sandwich. The fries were good. The portions were average size for an American restaurant, but I felt it was a little pricy for the quality.
This seems like it would be a fun place to come with a bunch of friends to watch the game (steer clear of the salad bar in the middle of the floor) since there were TVs. There is a cool balcony area and the front is all windows, the space is great.
There are 2 main rooms, I did not go into the other area, since there was a loud band practicing in there.
A trained chef in a little town like this is a jewel to find. Â We shared some fried mushrooms, fried pickles, and fried catfish for lunch after touring the Maker's Mark Distillery. Â The portions were large, the food was fresh made, light and tasty, and the service exceptional. Â This is a Bourbon and beer bar -- the Cosmo the wife ordered was sub par but the waitress remedied the situation quickly and cheerfully. Â We'll definitely go back.
Review Source:We had lunch with a small group today. Â The food was outstanding. Â Most of us ordered the catfish. Â Mine was fried. Â The breading was light and a little zesty. Â The two fish portions were huge and very mild tasting. Actually some of the best I've ever had. Â Came with fries but, could sub so I chose the 3 cheese mashed potatoes. Â The $10.99 price included soup and salad bar. Â The soups were delicious. Â The Bourbon Creamed Chicken was yummy. Â The salad bar was OK. Â Had a lot of toppings but, they need to have real bacon bits and not the fake ones. Â Dressings were very good especially the blue cheese. Â Our server was very attentive and went out of her way to make sure we were all served at the same time and we had everything we needed. Â
They usually have a buffet most other days and always has pork chops, chicken and catfish along with good fresh veggies and the soup and salad bar. Â You will never leave hungry and if you do it's your own fault. Â I would highly recommend eating here if you are anywhere close by.
I ate here with a large group, everyone seemed fairly happy with their food. I was the only one who ordered steak. It was overcooked, twice! I ended up leaving most of it. The salad bar was so-so. Fake bacon bits, and none of the dressings were labeled. The stuffed-mushroom soup was the best thing there. The waitress couldn't remember any of the bottled beers, and told me to go up to the bar and look.
