Haven't been in a long time and saw they changed the whole place! (Including the name) WOW - what a difference! It's really beautiful inside. High tech equipment and the decor is inviting. Music video's playing everywhere on flat screens to compliment the DJ's songs. AWESOME! You now have to pay a fee of 15 dollars to get in. I remember it use to be free when I went. Luckily, our group didn't pay because we were there around 9:30 pm and no one was in the joint. We stayed for cocktails and the service was good. I guess you must pay for all the high tech stuff. They had bouncers and doorman at each door. Very classy, indeed! We didn't stay all that long because it wasn't hopping. I think the crowds come later like 11:00 or so. Seems kinda late to start a night but hey, I'm almost 50 so I forgot how me ole dancing days went. I would go again with a big party or so and go at the time we went. I wouldn't even care if there were three people in the joint I would take the floor and start dancing if a good song came on! HA! That's the way I rollllllllll
Review Source:Went by before NYE, had a pretty good mix of people. Â late 20s, 30s through 50s. Â The music was a good dance mix of newer and older songs, drinks were pretty stiff, but not too cheap. Â Overall, not many other places to go for a dance club. Â cover is $10 but sounds like that can vary.
Review Source:Had our wedding after party here recently. It was a great venue. Amazing location for the DJ, and creatively constructed. Definitely a cool place. Modern and sleek.
Drinks at a joint like this could always be more reasonable, but this isn't a dive bar. Bottle service was also a bit pricy compared to other clubs.
Palm Dessert is not really known for their great night life; however, for a hotel club this place can be entertaining. As a hotel guest you get in free and the drinks are reasonably priced. The DJ plays top 40 music. It's pretty empty inside but I had of group of 10 people so we made it fun. The AC must have been broken because it was hot inside. If I stay at their hotel again I'm sure I'll visit the club again.
Review Source:Great place to hang out at the resort in the evenings (after 9pm) and dance and drink the night away. If you are a hotel guest, you get in for free. Everyone else pays a 10 dollar cover. (I think that's what the sign said about non guests)
Don't be surprised about the crowd that you see as you walk in. Anyone from ages 21-65.
The DJ is pretty good too. Has a well rounded selection that keeps everyone happy. Old stuff as well as the new club mixes.
Drinks were ok here. Started off with a Vodka and Cranberry and it just seemed water downed. The second one I asked for very little ice and it was a tad better. Ended up just going with a midouri sour the rest of the night. (one of my favorites and I've never been to a club/bar that has screwed that up)
Bunch of people were dancing in groups for the most part. But there were couples there as well that were having fun. Everyone there seemed to be happy (which is always a good thing).
There's plenty of seating at Club Stir. So you don't have to worry about getting tired and there are no chairs or couches.
Overall I had fun and enjoyed the nightlife in Indian Wells. Would most definitely do it again!
I'm not a club girl, but I've been to a lot of clubs and this club was ohk. It was a nice modern looking club, but I was disappointed with the cover charge. $15 on a Saturday night. What!? I thought I was at a hotel in the desert, not at a club in Downtown LA or San Francisco! Even those places at least have some sort of guest list. This place doesn't. It was also pretty dead so $15 for a cover seemed ridiculous at the time, which was late. Not having time to go anywhere else we paid it. So dumb. I would have preferred the 20 pack of bud light at our shitty hotel watching shitty shows on the CW, but my sister had said this place was really "cool." I mean she can party but oh, yeah she's 37. But it was too late..
There was no wait at the bar--obviously. Drinks were also a bit overpriced. Sound was loud and a bit distorted. I felt like the DJ played songs over and over again. Â Or maybe nowadays all songs sound the same? The crowd was mixed but I felt like I was at a club with my parents. It was funny seeing older people try to dance to LMFAO's "Party Anthem." There was definitely no shuffling going on, just the swinging of arms side to side. These people looked like they were having a good time and good for them. As for myself, I don't know. So what else could I do? Drink whiskey until I got kicked out. So if you are a 30+ person this place is for you.
Fun for all ages.......21 to 61!
We had a good time here the Saturday we came. The music was a mix of 70's disco, hip-hop, and Top 40-- and the DJ even threw in  a little reggaeton. The specialty drinks were sweet and strong, but not cheap. The ambiance was sleek and pure "Boogie Nights" complete with psychedelic lights. All it needed was  a mirror ball!
Everybody was there to drink and dance-- I didn't feel a meat-market vibe at all. The crowd was extremely diverse: lots of pretty girls  in dresses so short that  one can neither sit nor bend;  cougars showing off their plastic surgery and  blonde hair extensions; a few goth chicks; some classy Latinas  all in black with silk flowers in their hair; plenty of young guys dressed "resort casual;" and a sprinkling of old farts wearing their grandsons'  clothes. The only ones missing were the cholos and wannabes, because baggy clothes and wife-beater tees are not allowed. We had a lot of fun people watching..... now  where did those old cougars learn to dance like strippers?????
You gotta love this place! It's seldom that one finds a dance club that lacks pretension and attitude, where EVERYBODY can feel comfortable.
Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely be back .
Well...first off....i don't have much experience in the nightlife department since i just turned 21....
But anyways.....i just moved to riverside recently and i actually lived in the desert my whole life until now. i went back to the desert to celebrate my friends 21st, and we decided to check out stir. i had heard about it from some friends from work. It wasn't too hard to find. it was actually in the Esmeralda Hotel in Rancho Mirage. The cover charge was $10, it was a friday night, but i guess on saturdays its $15.
the guy checking the ID's was using a little card checker and it was kind of annoying because it was glitchy and it kept declining our ID's...as if they were fake....it was kind of annoying
but when we got in the atmosphere was alright. The staff that worked there were very polite and opened doors for me and my friends. Most of the people that were there were middle aged. my friends and i definitely didn't fit in. they played pretty much a wide variety of music. they played anything from top 40 to disco. the drinks, in my eyes, were kind of expensive. my friend ordered a margarita, and it was $11....the cup was small, but the actual drink tasted great. i personally would rather just drink somewhere else cheap before i headed over there so i could save myself some money.
Overall, it was a fun place, but i think it was more for people like my mom, rather than me
