Stobers Bar

Love this dive bar!  I never even stepped foot in the place while at State, never even knew it existed actually.  I was in town for training, and saw a building with a cool painted mural, so we stopped in.  I was blown away at the grand wooden bar with awesome griffins and a stained glass Merlin the magician/wizard in the center.... Apparently, they found it in California and had it brought to Michigan. This is one of Michigan's oldest bars.  Seriously, you are missing out if you do not go see the craftsmanship of this bar.  The prices were right, decent jukebox, the bar tender was very friendly and kept pulling out a bartending book to try to libations out on us.  We had never been here before, but we felt right at home.  Keep in mind I have not been here in about 2-3 years....

The shuffleboard tables (two of them) are pretty nicely kept and fun.

The place is kind of dark by the bar and you can't see everything. Doorman was chill and talkative and no problems here!

Old old bar.  No food just drinks.  We stopped in while in Lansing hoping for a quick bite. It was a little weird, really dark, and by the look on the faces of everyone there, we didn't belong.  

We asked about food and were sent next door to another bar.  There was a table full of potluck.  Odd visit indeed.
