The credit card machine was down so cash only and the ATM had a $3.00 terminal fee!  The food was horrible!!  Very salty and the worst wings and nachos I have ever had.   Everything tasted like it was previously frozen and just heated back up.  Not a good first restaurant experience on the jersey shore.

This was a "sports bar", granted they had plenty of TV's but they were out of the 1st 3 beers that we asked for (that were listed on the menu).  Very average food. The place was empty at 6:00 on a Saturday night in June - no atmosphere. The only good thing were the chicken wings - nice and big.

I do not need to get a life, I already have one.  I am only giving my review after coming to Stone Harbor for 35 yrs, and have frequented this venue for decades (different owners),
Since the Windrift is now open, we will have another place to go to that provides acceptable service.
I am hoping you didn't also tell the other folks on yelp to get a life, for their negative reviews on Stone Harbor Bar and Grill?
We are all just using this forum to be honest.  Perhaps this venue can learn from these reviews, and then there wouldn't be anything negative to say!

How is place even still open? The food was horrible, there was no toilet paper in any of the bathrooms! It took a very long time to get our horrible food. It should just be a bar that is it because they could care less about the food.

The reviews above are a bunch of garbage.  My wife and I are full-timers that live in Avalon.  Is SH Bar and Grill a 5-star restaurant?  Of course not.  It's a bar with very solid food (roast pork and roast beef are made in house) and great bartenders, who pour a great drink.  The TV setup is great, and the staff is extremely accomodating re: putting on whatever game you want to watch.  To the guy above...John from Manhattan...get a life, pal.  You've probably been going to Fred's forever and just want to put up a bad review for a place that's starting to gain traction.  SH Bar and Grill is a fun place with good food and solid people.

I really wish this place was better.  They have a major fruit fly problem that is hard to oversee when you are sitting at the bar.  All the plates that came out looked like they hadn't been cleaned enough from the person before.  The food is pretty good.  The boneless buffalo chicken strips is the reason this place gets 3 stars--they are delicious!  I also give them credit because they stay open all year round.  PLEASE rip out the dirty carpet and give the whole bar a good cleaning.  There is so much potential here!

I have been to the Stone Harbor Bar & Grill on multiple occasions over the years, and have found that each year the service and quality deteriorates. The food has never been great, merely passing, but the rude owner has guaranteed we will never be back. For those not interested in the full review, I would say stop in for a drink, if they're not busy than have ok bar food. But, the service is crap and they treat their customers like trash.

When we went a couple weeks ago with a party of six, the hostess told us it would be about twenty minutes before we could be seated. I made sure I told her that we had a diabetic with us and someone pregnant with twins because I wanted to make sure that it would in fact be around the time she said. I was told it could be a little longer, but definitely not much.

Now, this place is pretty big, it has an upstairs, a circular bar and a long bar, as well as self seating tabletops. We did go just as the season ended, but the place had literally only 3 tables outside the bar open, and about twenty or so that were not being sat at all due to "short staff."

After 45 minutes the hostess magically reappears, only to walk over to what appears to be the manager, who she asks about the table for 6, and who replies that he doesn't have anything for a party that large. After hearing this, I approached the manager and asked whether our table would be sat soon. He promptly told me that there were no tables available and that he didn't know how long it would be and we would have to just wait for someone to get up.

When I pointed out that there were several tables open, and that we could wait to order, we just wanted to sit down, he told me no, that was not possible. I said that if he couldn't serve us we would have to leave, and that I really didn't appreciate the way we were being treated. He then told us to leave.

Turns out he wasn't a manager, but the owner. We will not be back next season or any other time.

Three of us came in at 1:45 on a Sunday afternoon.  The hostess told us there would be a 15 minute wait.  Over 30 minutes later we got a table.  We were becoming a little leery because we noticed that most of the tables had not been served any food.  As soon as we sat down we ordered salad and hamburgers.  After the waitress brought us drinks she never walked passed again.  45 minutes later we flagged her down to ask for the status of our food.  She said that the food shouldn't take more than 15 more minutes and there were rows and rows of tickets backed up in the kitchen.  Meanwhile, the manager was spoon feeding himself a bowl of meatballs as he was walking around the restaurant.  ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!  Why aren't you helping the kitchen?? Soooo we eventually threw $6 on the table to pay for our drinks and walked out.  On the way out we told the hostess that we couldn't stand the wait and had to go.  Her response was "ok".

The decor was really odd.  Music was blasting and there were lights and disco balls spinning over the pool tables.  We were seated between the DJ, pool tables, and a 7 foot tall knight.

By this time it was after 3pm.  Thank you for wasting our afternoon at the beach!  I walked straight over to Jack's Shack and got some food right away.

Typical sports bar food. Take advantage of the happy hour specials. I haven't seen 25 cent wings in years. And these were BIG and hot and greasy and crispy, exactly as they should be. They also have a buy 1 get 1 app special, basically everything that's fried. The sandwiches & burgers range from $7.50 - $9.50, which seems high to me. Lots of tvs in the bar for game-watching. Sit at a high top and people-watch the folks on 96th street. But beware, they can watch you too!
