Strange Brew

Strange Brew is a very nice little coffee shop pretty much dead center in town. We stopped in for a quick warm drink during a very cold and windy day and were pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it was. Very cool retro rock n roll memorabilia as the decor, and a very cool painted collage lining the back wall. The drink menu offered something for everyone and the vibe was as relaxing as it gets. Definitely a thumbs up!

Keeping it short...While leaving, the guy behind the counter made a snide comment to my sister as she was walking out of the door. Then laughed it off when she called him out on being a coward. A customer came to his defense to assure us he wasn't a racist, which could be true. However, him being an asshole is not debatable.

I unfortunately don't live close enough to Strange Brew to go there often.  But when I do, I feel like a valued customer.  In fact, he remembers what drink I get even when a few months have elapsed since my last visit!  So this leaves me frankly baffled at what the other reviewers are saying in reference to attitude and service.  I will admit that I am an outgoing person and generally friendly.  Not only does the owner talk to me, but the locals who hang out on the couch talk to me and always make me feel welcome.  

As far as the drinks, I have sampled several of them, both hot and cold.  I have some very specific requests, as I follow a strict diet for health reasons.  My requests have always cheerfully been accommodated and the drinks always taste amazing.  I especially appreciate the frozen coffee cubes that go into the frozen drinks.  That way, if I'm riding my bike or strolling down the sidewalk with the kids, even in the hot weather my drink does not melt and taste diluted.  

I have introduced approximately ten of my friends and family members to Strange Brew, and each of them has enjoyed the coffee and teas they have sampled as well.  

And if you want GREAT service, go in with a big smile and tell them the "muddy" blonde who enjoys sugar-free breves sent you :)
