We came to Trainer's for our wedding reception and had the dinner in their private basement room. Â We were able to come in the day previous to set up our center pieces, wedding favors, and other little details. Â The hostess and waitresses were all very helpful.
The menu options that the owner had sent me did not exactly jive with exactly the type of food that we had in mind, and the kitchen was extremely accommodating as we requested two dishes that had not been on their menu. (The other dishes we ordered from the menu).
All of the food was absolutely delicious. Â The comments from our guests were very positive. Â We had chicken, fish, pasta primavera, roasted red potatoes, and mixed vegetables. Â They also gave us hot rolls and a salad. Â My favorite dish was the pasta primavera which was one of the meals we requested that wasn't on their regular menu.
My only complaint is that the meal was slow to get started. Â It appeared that the servers were doing double duty serving our party downstairs as well as helping the customers in the regular dining room upstairs. Â The servers themselves were all very friendly, just stretched a bit thin.
We had wanted to have a buffet, however our party (numbering 40) would not have fit in the room with a buffet table, so our meal was offered family style with platters being passed around the tables. Â It would have been helpful to have a larger platter since the plate was often empty by the time it made it around the larger tables, however, they were prompt with bringing in extra platters to continue serving.
I would recommend this restaurant to smaller wedding parties. Â I was very pleased with how everything turned out, and we got very good value for our money.
