This is a really nice bar. During the week they have karaoke, jazz or happy hours where the staff brings chicken for everyone in the room. The owner Richard is a hard working man and goes out of his way to greet probably everyone walking into his bar. The place is decorated quite nicely, there's a big television monitor inside the bar area showing old classic films. A few neon lights here and there, with candle-like lights around the bar, just looks nice. Drinks are good and great ambiance too. Â Definitely a fan!
Review Source:THIS IS OUR SPOT TO HANG OUT IN PALM SPRINGS! WE LOVE STUIDO ONE 11!! The bartenders and owner are fabulous and friendly, the atmosphere is inviting and attractive. Live music AND karaoke keep us entertained and it is the PERFECT neighborhood bar. We are regulars (a straight couple) and always, always feel welcome. Great drink specials too!!!
Review Source:Mr. and Mr. Neighbor invited me to tag along for a drink here... In the past, I've been comfortable in gay bars (after living in NYC with a gay roommate I've been to my share--don't start with the Will and Grace jokes), but honestly, when I walked in to the very dark space, my first impression was, hell, what have I gotten myself into? I was the only woman there. BUT...within a few minutes of talking with the affable, very handsome bartender and the older gentlemen sitting next to me, I knew I was in for a fun couple of hours.
Pretty relaxed, friendly, and the drinks are very strong ($2 happy hour cocktails!)... Enjoyed the lounge ambiance a lot. Wish the piano player was there, and if my friend from NYC visits me, I'll surely take him here.
Just returned too the desert after a 3 year absence, a friend wanted to meet for cocktails and suggest Studio One 11, Â I have to say I was presently surprised!
I remember the location from many failed attempts at bars, they've done a great job remodeling the place so now it's more conducive to getting your mingle on! Â The result is a comfortably chic, stylishly simple lounge where even the snobbiest can relax their expectations and get their cocktail on. Â A great little patio for those who prefer to sit outside or partake in a smoke or two.
Everyone was friendly, a good mix of ages (30's on up), were present and the music was at a tolerable level for conversation. Â
Drinks are moderately priced - but poured heavy & stiff, and who doesn't like a stiff one every now and again!
Simply put, Studio One 11 has given us  a place for 'regulars' to comfortably enjoy their favorite adult beverage.
My friend was just saying that Palm Springs needs more piano bars and so I was happy to see they do have another one. Â For the most part, the customers here are older gay men. Â It's a friendly crowd. Â I like how the space is designed so there are several sitting areas where you can relax, listen to the piano and vocals while having generous cocktails. Â Staff was very nice and attentive. Â I would take the volume down a notch as it's a little loud.
Review Source:I came here with an Older friend who lives in the Las Palmas area of PS, we drove here for cocktails. It's a fun place filled with Mature Older Men, which I love. I am interested in mature men :). Men ranging from 50 to 90s, and you have me, in my 20s. Â *If you're younger and attractive. You'll get hit on :)* Men come here to meet potential LTR or just sex.
You see all walks of life here, from poor older men to avg income men to the filthy rich men. A lot of out of towner visit here. I am from Beverly Hills, LA area.
If you're a Mature Older guy reading this post. Send me a pm. I would like to hear from you and possibly be friends.
I came here, kind of  reluctantly, with my brother and his partner of 21 years.  It was their anniversary.  They had come to the desert to get away from the constant buzz of LA. Â
My brother, Jess, is my idol. Â He has had a successful career in an industry that grinds people into edible bits. Â But, Jess has never given into any negativity. Â He has always been there for me. Twelve years older than me, and ten times smarter, he gave me courage to persue my dreams, Â the tools I needed when I got knocked down, and best of all, the foresight not to be judgmental. Â Â
So, when he asked me if I knew of a quiet gay lounge...maybe  a piano bar where we could chat... I remembered reading an article in the Desert Sun about a nice piano bar that was going be opening soon.  What could I say?  "I'm a nice straight kid that likes to wear his pants too tight"....  naw.  So, I went hoping no one would notice me.
It's a new place. Â Open just a few months...they were totally packed. Â It is in a location next to the Thai fast food. Â In previous lives it was 'Del Fuego' and then 'Delilah's'.... Â Menus from the Thai joint were on the tables. Â So, I'm assuming they will deliver to your table. Â They had a terrific Jazz Piano Player. Â Everything was very low key, by no means loud. Â The owner has gone after capturing the business of older, successful, gay men, and has done a great job. Â There were a lot of women there as well. Â Â By the time we left, we had met everyone in the place. and had made many new friends. Â It didn't seem like anyone was out cruising. Â They were just there for a good time. Â
If you are looking for a comfortable, relaxing place to listen to some good music with friends..this is the place to go.
