Subway

We needed to grab a quick late lunch on the way to an event in White House, so we thought we'd swing by Subway. Little did we know that it would take over 30 minutes to get two sandwiches and that said sandwiches would be close to inedible.

The girls behind the counter said less than 5 words to us or any other customer in line, though they had no problem talking to each other the whole time about how they wanted to get out of there and threatening each other if one dared to think about leaving before the other.

I won't recount each moment of the torture, but in short: slow service, rude workers, about half a pound of condiments on one of the sandwiches, using dirty gloves and/or knives on sandwiches resulting in them being covered with condiments that we did not request/want/like, and then to top it all off each drink we tried to get from the dispensers was either all syrup or all carbonated water.  We heard the people in front of us saying that they knew the owner and would be informing them of this.

I worked at a Subway for a while in high school.  We ran out of bread once. It was still better than this.

This is a fairly good Subway sandwhich shop.  The ingredients are fresh and tasty.  I'd pass on the personal pizzas, though.  One of two of the 'sandwich artists' girls seem kind of snooty and aloof, like they are doing you some huge favor making you a sandwich with the ingredients that you choose.  They don't seem to have any sandwhich recommendations the last few times I've asked and the response was "it depends on what you want to eat" and "I don't eat meat".  I go here about once every two weeks and like I said it is okay for the most part.  You get what you pay for.  It's quick food when you are on the go.  Happy eating!
