Decided to get breakfast at the local diner, and I wasn't impressed.

This location started as a Hardies which closed when corporate mandated that the location add in the Red Burrito menu. Since then it was the Lebanon Family Restaurant which failed in the first couple years. As for the interior, the previous remodel redid the booths around the outside and the lighting to a more contemporary look. With this opening, the center of the dining room was emptied and there are not various tables in a mish-mashed layout.

Service was also meh. They had four waitresses working for about 12 tables total and it still took a while for our waitress to take our order. No refills but there were a couple table touches done while there. Food on the other hand came out pretty fast.

As for the food, I ordered the Meat Skillet and then a full order of Biscuits and Gravy. My wife ordered the Bacon and Cheese Omelette.

The Meat Skillet was 3 large eggs over easy (cooked to order) put over hash browns, then chopped up sausage, bacon and ham, and cheese. It was ok, but there was a glaring issue. The proportions are out of balance. There was a lot of meat and little hash browns. The issue is that potatoes are cheap, and meat is expensive. They should have cut back the meat and increased the hash which would mean more profit and a little larger portion.

The Biscuits and Gravy also had some issues. The biscuits were good, but the gravy had a very strong uncooked flour taste. I'm assuming that the gravy is homemade, and if so the solution is to simply cook the roux a little longer.

My wife enjoys the Bacon and Cheese Omelette. I wouldn't normally mention something I didn't eat but we both came home and within a half hour had upset stomachs. Initially when I wasn't feeling well I was wondering if it was the gravy but since she didn't have the gravy it leaves other common things. That would be the bacon, hash browns, toast, water, dishes and silverware. That and of course the kitchen grill.

So for what it was, and how I feel afterward I won't be going back. I had hoped to have eaten there and written a glowing review, but unfortunately they fell flat.
