Great atmosphere as a Sport's Bar. Shark chunks/bites were great however, fries were not hot at all. Ordered an appetizer and it was brought to us approx 1 min prior to our entree.
Overall, not a bad place to go hang and have a few beers.
Constructive criticism - Â they need to work on keeping their food hot and not make patrons feel like they are being rushed.
We arrived about 5:15p. We were seated pretty quickly.
I started with the 5 finger app platter. sooooo not worth $15, at least not for us. Â You get 3 cheese sticks, 3 buffalo wings, 3 potato skins, &3 shrimp wonton dealies. They were good but kinda small. Â I was the only one who ate the hot wings.
I ordered the brown sugar wings and homemade chips. the chips were really tasty. I do like bar/pub chips. I honestly thought the brown sugar would be like this sticky salty sweet kind of sauce. I was so wrong! Â They tasted like regular hot wings. I asked to exchange them for teriyaki wings. those were better and good just not what I wanted.
I will be back the food was not horrible. It is actually just kind of standard bar food in my book.
The hostess were a little weird making it awkward. The three of them acted like it was their first day and had little experience. The waiter was nice. I noticed everyone had bread but us and the waiter said he forgot. Then he came back and said the bread was stale and was going to bring us a fresh one. We didn't get the bread until we were done with our food. The food was less than average. I ordered the jack Daniels steak but it lacked seasoning. My mom had the burger though and said that was good. Really not impressed at. The only thing saving them was the waiter was nice.
Review Source:For a newly opened restaurant, this place seemed to run like a well-oiled machine. Â The service was fantastic. Â Our server arrived at our table minutes after we were seated and she checked on us frequently, but not so much so that we felt we were being hurried along or hovered over. Â Our food was tasty, arrived hot and was cooked perfectly. Â I had the mahi mahi sandwich and it was very delicious. Â I ordered sweet potato fries as a side item, and they were plentiful, although overly salty. Â Still they were crispy and hot, so I can get past them being too salty. Â My husband had a burger and fries, which he devoured and loved. My kids ordered from the children's menu. Â My older daughter had a pizza, with fries as a side item. Â The pizza was huge and had a cracker thin crust and was just delicious. Â I am going to order the pizza next time...it was that good. Â My youngest daughter had mac 'n cheese with a side of fruit. Â The mac 'n cheese looked like it was not homemade, but my daughter ate every bite, along with nearly all of her fruit (which was fresh fruit and not fruit cocktail).
We all really enjoyed our dinner, and since it's rare to find a place all four of us can agree upon, I know we'll be back. Â Good food..good service...and a great atmosphere.
This was our second time dining at Syberg's. Â The first time was just okay, however, the original wings were really good. Â The second time we went we were expecting okay food at an okay price....nothing special was expected based on our first dine. Â Once again, the wings were good. Â However, the rest of the food was sub-par. Â Why people stand in line for this food, really confuses me. Â One of our party ordered the fish and chips, and it came out nearly burnt crisp. Â The manager did the right thing and comp'ed the meal, but we could not all eat together. Â The bread came out hard as a rock, and they readily replaced it. Â The gumbo is like tomato soup with sausage and seafood mixed in. Â For service, we were never even asked for an ice tea refill. Â Syberg's made everything right, but the mistakes in serving and service should have never happened in the first place.
Review Source:Finally a sports bar in southern Illinois that doesn't rely on grease to mask the lack of flavor in their food! Syberg's offers a unique menu and excellent specials. I always have to order the shark bites cooked Cajun style. I love that they serve them with fresh fruit instead of French fries...it's always refreshing to see restaurants heading in the healthy direction. Today they have $3 Pearl vodka you-call-its. Basically any flavor of Pearl vodka and any mixer. Considering Pearl makes every flavor of vodka under the sun, your selection is only hindered by your imagination. Go crazy :) This place is awesome and definitely see myself becoming a regular.
Review Source:Went to Syberg's in O'Fallon, IL on a Friday evening. The juke box was playing good music. Â Music was loud but okay. Â We ordered a Cajun Pepper Jack Burger & Syburger. Â I took about 15 - 20 mins to get the food - not to bad. Â Ordered the burgers medium rare and the cook did a superb job. Â We had a great time and the food was absolutely perfect. Â Highly recommend you try Sybergs at least once.
Review Source:Went there last night expecting a great time and great food. Well....it started out on a high note and went south very quickly.
We ordered the wings and cajun shark bites. Both of which were amazing! Loved them both! The sauce that the wings are dipped in is great and the shark bites are to die for! Â
The rapid decline came when we received our entrees. I ordered the Provel Chicken Sandwich (recommended by the bar tender) and my girlfriend ordered the Chicken  Strip Wrap. The sandwich I received was an absolute mess and the chicken was undercooked. Not to mention it tasted horrible. The french fries were stale and cold. Almost seemed that they had been sitting there since the lunch rush. I ate about a third of it and gave it back, all the while telling the bar tender that it was no good. He didn't seem to care one bit.
The next thing that bothered me was when the female bar tender grabbed a poured glass of beer (Bud Light) out of the refrigerator (this glass of beer had sat in the refrigerator for well over thirty minutes). She grabbed the glass, stirred it with a straw to give it some fizz and served it. Seriously? Beer is cheap, especially Bud Light. Â Pour it out and draw a new one.
The last observation I made was the lady behind me that ordered a salad. She had to get an extra plate to place all of the wilted and rotten leaves on. Just short of half her salad was on that plate. She told the waitress about it, the waitress mumbled something. We waited to see what would be done about it. Fifteen minutes later........NOTHING.
I certainly hope what I experienced was a fluke. I am not sure I will ever go back. Ah...one last thing.....when you order a draft beer, they serve it to you with about two inches of head on it.
I was so excited to hear Syberg's was coming to Illinois! My husband & I ate here tonight & we were not disappointed! We had the Appetizer Platter which has their wings, Sygon's, mozzarella sticks, toasted ravioli & potato skins. Everything on it was so amazing, the Sygon's especially! I had the Pasta Con Broccoli & it too was good. The sauce was a little runny, but nothing to complain about. My husband had their Salmon & he's still raving about it! I had a couple bites of it & I have to say it's some of the best salmon I've ever had! Way better than Joe's Crab Shack! The atmosphere is awesome too! I worked in the building when it was Lone Star Steakhouse & the building on the inside & out really look great! Katrina was our server & she did one amazing job! You could tell she really loved her job & enjoyed being there & making sure we had a great time. She was so sweet & always smiling! We had an hour wait before we were seated & in that time one of the owners (can't remember his name) introduced himself to us & made small talk with us. I thought that was really nice he did that. It showed that even though they were extremely busy, he cared enough about his guests to introduce himself & welcome us to their new restaurant. Make sure you stop by & eat there! You will not be disappointed! I know Syberg's will be around for a long, long time!!
