Food was good & servers were friendly but, I ordered a coffee...my server brought me my coffee, sugar & cream...when I picked up a few packs of sugar you could tell they had some liquid spilt on them from the marks on the packets & dried so the sugar was one hard lump. I poured cream in my cup & noticed that the small metal creamer had old cream lumping on the sides as if they never clean them & just refill them. To top of my coffee story my server forgot to bring me a spoon to stir it...that's no big deal...so I proceed to just use the fork that was wrapped up neatly in the napkin. I stir my coffee & afterwards see greasy drops floating in my coffee...the fork was filthy. I am never going back because of that one experience.
Review Source:My husband and I always stop in here when we are in Hyannis. Â The bartenders are always friendly and so is the manager. Â They always make a point to stop and chat with us. Â The drinks are great. Â The food is really good. Â The poutine Jameson gravy fries are so yummy that I have dreams about them! Â This is definitely a fun place to go and even though I am not a Boston sports fan, the decorations are fun and different.
Review Source:My girlfriend and I went for the first time last night. It was Friday night and I expected it to be jammed. It was very...um..."slow". Which is fine for us, as we were just grabbing a late dinner and a drink or two. I understand it is a "Boston Sports Bar" theme, but, someone took it a bit too far...to the point of tacky. The big, way-to-bright, baseball lamps hanging over each table were more suitable for an 8 year old boys bedroom.
The waitstaff was very good, polite, attentive, etc. No issues there.
We started with the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. Before they arrived, the waitress left us each an appetizer plate...which brought us a chuckle. I really thought we were going to be served a dainty cup of tea on them. These were the tiniest, most ridiculously sized plates I've ever seen. Anyway, the stuffed mushrooms arrived and were very tasty....but, there were only three of them. At $6.95, I would have expected at least 4.
My girlfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was okay...not the most flavorful we have had, but not the worst. The sauce was definately lacking any vinegary bite. The onion rings were quite tasty. The pickle. People, ...the pickle. What are you doing with the pickle? The plate came complete with the babiest of the baby gherkins. One baby gherkin...as thin as a pencil, and no longer than 1 inch! It was about as funny as the appetizer plates! Do yourselves a favor and ditch the baby gherkin and lay a nice, fresh, high quality pickle on there.
I ordered the rib eye dinner. This is the meal that I use to find my first impressions of any "grill" restaurant. I was quite excited, as the menu described it as "hand cut" and "blanketed in a delectable Guinness demi-glace". To me, anything with Guinness, has to be great! The cut was thin, the thinest cut rib eye I can ever remember having. I ordered it mid-rare, which surprising for it's thin cut, it was. The quality was unfortunate. Far from prime, it was at best between choice and select. Quite gristly, heavy outer fat bands...and two slivers of rib bone chips hiding in the mix. It reminded us of the "steak" served at IHOP. The Guinness demi-glace....didn't exist. If it was there, it must have been applied with an eye dropper. It was well seasoned, but, no demi-glace. The mashed potatoes were sub-par, grainy, and apparently unseasoned. The pile of mashed potatoes were surrounded by small, much too yellow, florets of broccoli that were very amatuerly stabbed into the potatoes forming a ring around the potatoes. I began to wonder if the same 8 year old boy that bought the baseball lamps and pickles...was also the chef! I was horribly disappointed that I had spent $23.00 on this plate. It was, at best, a $15.95 plate.
My expectations were not set too high when I went in. It is, after all, a mall restaurant. A waaaaaaay overpriced mall restaurant.
P.S. We didn't try the offered deserts. We were pretty bummed to see the selection listed is the exact same offering at nearly every single establishment in town. They are the basic, food vendor supplied, pre-fabbed offerings (chocolate lava cake, cheesecake, carrot cake, vanilla ice cream....boring.) We would have tried the creme brulee ($8.00!), but, by this point, we had already felt robbed of about $60.00 and felt we should just know when to walk away.
I went to T. Murphy's last night and had a blast! Our server Alison was very professional and super friendly. Our party of three started with the poutine and the Irish egg rolls to share. The poutine was a pile of French fries lightly covered in a tasty gravy and sprinkled with cheese curds. The egg rolls were filled with corned beef, cabbage, and swiss cheese and served with Russian dressing for dipping. My husband and I enjoyed the T. Murphy burger and my friend claimed her chicken sandwich was the best she'd ever had in a restaurant. The highlight of the night was the after dinner drinks. My friend and I both had the Oatmeal Cookie. All I can say is that it's one of the best drinks I have ever tasted! My friend and I agreed that this would be our new favorite place!
Review Source:We went for lunch. Â I had Corned Beef & Cabbage. Â It was ample & excellent. Â It was on the regular menu! Â It's nice to find a place that serves this dish when it's not St. Patty's Day. Â My wife had a garden salad with salmon. Â Not just iceberg lettuce - all kinds of greens. Â She said it was very good. Â My son had Bangers & Mash. Â He said it was great, but he could have used a third sausage. Â He eats too much. Â The service was great. Â It's nicely decorated if you're a Boston sports fan. Â It's not cheap; Â it's not ridiculously expensive, either. Â You get what you pay for. Â They gave us a discount coupon for our next visit. Â We'll be back. Â I want to try the fish & chips.
