This is one of my favorite places to go, or at least pregame at. Huge selection of beer. Gotta try opb squared, hoplanta, and loose cannon. Their wings are good for a sit down restaurant/non wing joint. Other foods decent as well. They always have something going on. Pint night Thursdays- free glass with a beer of the month starts @ 5. Other nights they have dj's, bands, trivia, and always something on tv, only bad thing is they do not show the ufc fights. If you plan on frequently going to tacomac, don't forget to sign up for brewniveristy. It's a program where receive rewards for drinking beer, amazing. Every different brand/style of beer is 1 point only 6 beers per day Is counted.
Review Source:This was an unexpected place to find in Douglasville and when I first heard the name, I assumed it was a Mexican joint! Â Service was super attentive, the portions were large and the wings were off the hook. Â Ask for them extra crispy! Â They will also let you try the different sauces to make sure you don't get one that is too spicy (or not spicy enough!).
Will definitely go back next time I'm in town.
.This is my FAVORITE place for wings! They are yummy and delicious and I don't care what I have said in the past about any other damn wing this place is the bomb! It's off the chain. These MOFO's can cook some wangs! LOL Okay. Enough with the silliness!
I have only tried a few things at this location. Wings, Fries, Celery, Chili, and I think the Nacho's. Everything here is good every time I come. Now I must note that they could do better on the temperature of the fries. But other than that I can't really complain. Oh wait. What am I thinking. I'm a woman. Surely I can find something else to complain about......It's always crowded! I mean really. What kind of place is crowded when they first open? Dang!!!!
It took me many a while to realize that this is a Sports bar type of place. Probably because my mother would always grab wings from here and bring them home. So I never actually went to the restaurant for years after I started eating the wings here. And just to note for other people not into sports, like me, that's why they have 80" TV's plastered all over the place featuring sports and sports news. After common sense kicked in and I realized that this was actually a Sports Bar I also realized that Playoff nights aren't really a good night for us to try to stop for wings. So you may want to ask those Falcons, Hawks, Thrashers or Braves lovers in your life if there's some big game or fight on before you venture out to this location. They stay open until 2 AM Mon-Fri. 'til 12 AM on Sat and 'til 10:30 PM on Sun.
The Wings are my all-time favorite wings of any wings on this earth! They are big, juicy, cooked perfectly and there is a different sauce to meet everyone's need. They will also combine sauces for you if you'd like of put once sauce on the wings and give you a side of sauce that you can use to dunk your wings in and make your own flavor. I like BBQ and Mild. My BF likes Lemon Pepper and 3 Mile Hot. I get 10 or 20 pieces and can never eat more than 4-5 at a time because these are the biggest and best wings in town. Yeah I said it and I ain't scared either! Â I usually don't eat the fires because they are not hot enough for me when they reach the table. The celery is always good and crisp but I never finish it once I get home. The Chili was just okay to me. It wasn't bad but I've had much better. Hell, I've made much better. I thought I tasted vinegar and it had a little spicy kick to it. But I like my Chili to have more beef than beans. I decided to try the Chili because the smoke coming from the bowl that it was in was an indication that it was piping hot. And it was! For some strange reason the bowl had tortilla chips as decoration inside of the bowl. The bowl did also come with Saltine Crackers as well.
I like this place! They have a lot more variety of beer than any other bars around this area! But then again I am a Taco Mac fan. I joined the brewneversity and I am having fun with it. I like that they keep a list of the different beers that I have tried and I know it's funny, but Im actually kind of proud of that little list. I love the hot wings and I love the Elmwood burger. I havent tried anything else since Im a believer that once I find a good thing going, Im gonna stick with it until I am sick with it. Haha. There's a pool room upstairs but I honestly thing that place is slightly sad. The tables are old and unbalanced. Oh well. I still like this place :)
Review Source:For food, sitting on the patio and hanging out with an intimate friend, Taco Mac is A-Ok. Â Want something different than your normal dive??? Then Taco Mac is the place..on occassion. Â
Problem with Taco Mac, IMHO, is they are over-rated, over-priced and the attitude there is "nose in the air." Â Plus, if you're wanting to throw back a few, you will have kids to deal with unless it's late. Â I don't particularly like that. Â I guess if you HAVE kids and want to drink, that's a plus...but mine are grown and I don't want to hear a screaming brat next to me when I'm trying to unwind. Â You can go outside, which I always do unless it's raining (their patio is uncovered unfortunately) or upstairs to the "adult" smoking bar, but freakin-A...those steps can be a ...well, you-know-what with a few drinks or with arthritis. Â
Their margaritas they sell on special BLOW!  They are nothing but mixer and  you'd need 10 just to feel like you've had a drink. Â
So for me, when I'm wanting a change or a nice patio...Taco Mac is ok, but there are cheaper, not so stuffy bars in town than this over-priced place.
Taco Mac has an amazing beer list - that's the primary draw for me. The extensive list includes regularly changing tap brews and a wide range of American beers to special micro-brews you don't find most places. Plus they have a full bar, so you can find pretty much whatever you want.
Food at Taco Mac...is kinda like bad American fare with a semi-Mexican twist. I will say I'm a fan of their (sorta-new) queso pablano dip - that stuff is addictive. And I know their wings are good (but if I really want wings, I'll go to Hooters just up the road from here, c'mon -- this is not the only place to go for good wings!). The sandwiches and entrees generally range from 'edible' to 'so-so' to 'decent, but I'll try something different next time.'
This D'ville location has some mega-mega-TVs. Nice during football season, but show up early if you actually want to score a table for the game.
Service is usually great and very dependable, but I've been a couple times where it seemed like they didn't have enough people working to handle the orders. Eh, it happens sometimes.
If you are planning to go more than once, sign up for their beer card membership - it's fun to check off what you've tried.
I live in Douglasviile and I'm a regular at Taco Mac (usually on Fridays)...I like the place, good food (usually get the boneless wings either lemon pepper or bar-b-que), good beer selection (both tap and bottles) and very nice bartenders (Sam is my favorite)...There are plenty of tvs to watch sporting events and there's an upstairs that has I think 2 or 3 pool tables...Friday nights they usually have a DJ after 9pm that plays pretty good music and he also takes requests...The people who come to Taco Mac are also pretty cool and friendly, and I usually end up having random conversations with random people who happen to be sitting next to me. All-in-all its a good place to eat, drink and meet people if you live in D'ville...the only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5-star rating is that they stop serving at 11:30pm on Saturdays   :(
Review Source:Since I live in D-ville and this is one of my "regular" places I'll probably continue to update this review as I go.
Beer selection - Top Notch
Fajitas - great
Thursdays are Fajita nights.
I got the steak and chicken and they give you the perfect amount. Â I love that they don't skimp on the toppings either.
Southwest wrap - delicious
Tacos - good
Fish and Chips - terrible! Â Edible but pretty much like Mrs. Paul's out of the freezer.
Pretty good food but extremely noisyyy!! I guess I should have expected that for a Friday night.. anyhow I ordered a burger with some fries and had chips and salsa for my appetizer .. typical food and nothing to write home about. Â I can't say I wouldn't return but it definitely wouldn't be something I would crave for.
Review Source:This has been my place to watch the Rockets for the last few games, food is good...drink prices are good.
Bartenders are nice, I haven't been disappointed in one yet, prompt service, friendly.
The crowd - I can't really make any promises on that..it's varied day to day..But I go back - that says something.
This isn't a terrible place, and it is probably the best place to go in Douglasville for beer and mediocre food. Â That doesn't mean much, however, considering it only got two stars. Â
If you are only looking for beer, perhaps... but I am waiting for some classier places to spring up.
This Taco Mac is a little different from the other TMs, not bad, just different. The beer selection is much smaller (around 25 taps instead of 50 or more). The food is almost always good. The service is usually prompt and friendly.
What keeps this TM from getting 5 stars (or 4). Its very much a sports bar. There are TVs everywhere and its usually very loud. The other TMs have TVs and sports but its not as overwhelming as at this location. Its almost always busy and later at night the music is very loud and often not great.
I would have given the 3.75 stars but this isn't star search. I love the beer and the food but the noise (and somewhat more rowdy crowd) keep this place from ranking among my favorite Taco Macs.
I am yet to branch out to other Taco Macs, but I used to frequent this establishment quite a bit.
What can I say? I've tried 3 dishes and they've all been very good. Not the best, but better than average, and honestly, better than I was expecting for "Bar food."
Anyone who thinks Taco Mac is just a bar should really give it a try. They do have cheap beer, and it definitely has a bar setting (cover bands.. ugh.. TOO LOUD! keeping them from 5/5) but the appetizers and food are what keep me coming back.
Dishes you should try: Wings (as the other reviewer said) Chicken fingers w/ or w/o buffalo wing sauce (ranch dipping sauce required either way.) Hamburgers, or house salads. All of the food here is just great.
Only place that you can get wings at in Douglasville - but man, they're f**king GOOD!! Â My dad lives in D-ville and this place is a tradition for my dad & I when I come in town to visit. Â The 9-11 wings are so damn delicious. Â My mouth waters thinking about them. Â
Amazing beer selection!!! Â Go here just for beer!!
