Came back a year later and I must say, very, very happy with the progress.  They have got it together.  Just had appys, but very good, served quickly and tasty.  Beers were tremendous and right on par with their description.  Service was fast and friendly.  Other tables around us were full, good looking plates, heard lots of compliments.  Kudo's to who ever has been running this place, you know what you're doing, I'll be back.

Good beer.  Pretty good food.  Staff was a little odd.  Still enjoyed it.

We came here once over a year ago and thought the beer was AVERAGE at best.  They had about four beers on tap and none were good, and we ordered beer they had on tap from other breweries after the taster.  Decided after reading some positive reviews to give this a try again and WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES!!  The Hop song IPA was really nice and we even bought a growler to take home!  Sat on the patio and really were glad we came back.

Located in the best primo spot in downtown Tahoe city, Tahoe Mountain Brewery's food does not match the beautiful view of Lake Tahoe.  On a slow day during the week, my husband ordered ribs that was burnt beyond recognition.  Dry to the bone with no flavor sadly the flatbread was the only saving grace.  After biting down into raw chicken, I had to return the dish back fearing death in the mountains was not the way to go.  The waitress was so sweet and distressed over the situation, but what can she do.  Cook back there too?  The beer itself is Ok.  Eating appetizers that are simple is the way to go to avoid disasters with your beer.  It's not always location location when it comes to a good restaurant.

    Good beer, good location.
    Crap food, mediocre service.
Pro tip: get a growler to-go, don't waste your time inside.

Just a real quick thumbs down on this place.  One of the meals at our table, a tri-tip sandwich, had a band aid in it.  Needless to say, we left and will never return.

Hamburger fantastic. TriTip Sandwich very tasty. I liked my lager. Fish and chips a bit dry.
Don't bother with the desserts. I know, we should have said something....Mousse was running, bland pudding, and the strawberry shortcake had frozen strawberries in the height of strawberry season.
So a good lunch ended badly. Then they added a 20% tip onto our bill. We had six people. It says on the menu that a party of SEVEN or more will have 20% tip added. This really ticked my father off, who paid the bill. He felt tip whould not have been added.

We stopped in about 2 PM on a busy 4th of July week. Place was busy, and for 6 of us it was going to be about a 30 minute wait. We asked if we could take two tables and we were immediately seated. Even though they might have been understaffed that day, everybody was pitching in and the service as good. The food was above average and really excellent. For most resort restaurants It's usually a hit or miss, but I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't get to try the brews, but will do that on our next visit. Again, a very hard working staff that the manager should be proud of.

Friendly service. Provided some great tips on enjoying tahoe. The clams were good. The garlic bread was great. The beers are local and above average.

Good beer sample selection. Good variety and nice microbrews. Pretzel bites were okay but would have been a ton better if they had not fried them. Not sure why that was necessary. Good location off the freeway. Would definitely go again

Unfortunately I can't review the food here as we were never served.  We were told it would be a 45 minute wait.  After an hour we spotted several open tables but were told we couldn't be seated because the kitchen was so backed up that we wouldn't get our food for an hour anyway. What?!?!  See ya later and never to return!

Don't know why such a low rating. Good service, food, and beer. Can't complain about anything. Pulled pork and fish&chips are both crazy good.

Im thinkin these reviewers are straight hatin. Must be other local companies. The beer was incredible. Its a brewery- so they only serve THEIR beers. Not sure why idiots are complaining. We had killer service. I didn't even look at yelp before coming here. Definetely recommend others.
The food is fantastic and the choice of over 9 beers is sure to please anyone's palette.
The bartender told me that last year the food did need help and the staff was not great. They completely changed the game and now are at the top.
Yelp these guys and help get them out of the yelp doghouse! They definitely don't deserve it.

The beer is really good, but the service and the appetizers weren't that great... I didn't even eat the calamari that I ordered because it was soggy and mushy and our waiter was really rude to us. Luckily the local lager saved the evening, but I probably won't go back there for the food.

I really enjoy craft beers and visiting micro breweries!  It's always interesting to stop in and see their spin on what the local palate likes.  It's all individual, hit or miss; but fun.

We found Tahoe Mountain Brewing makes a nice craft beer.  We really enjoyed their Sugar Pine Potter.  It wasn't bitter and had a nice clean taste. They market it by saying it has a "sweet chocolate and toffee notes, backed by a roasted coffee aroma".  Absolutely, spot on. The Wilde Haar Weizen on the other hand wasn't as interesting and didn't have much of a wheat taste.  But our beers were good and cold!  See photos.

As for the food, we have an interesting story to share.  Their Pub menu is pretty diverse, with most items around the $11 mark.  One of us ordered the Bratwurst, while the other the cardiac arrest special of "Black & Blue  Burger".  Ah, youth!

The Brat came on a pretzel bun (photo), served with sautéed peppers (which we skipped), onions and beer mustard for $10.95  The beer mustard was delicious and really brought out the taste of the brat.  It reminded me of our time in the Midwest and driving up to Milwaukee on the Fourth. I can hear those Harleys now.

Okay, here's where our story gets interesting...  As I mentioned, we also ordered the Black & Blue Burger (photo), with cajun spiced, topped with gorgonzola for $10.95 --"Medium Rare".  Well, it came out very well done and looking gray inside.  Not a problem said our server Sean, the Kitchen goofed and he would have them remake it.  In fact he told us there was another burger being made for someone else and we could have it as to not to delay our meal.  Nice I thought. Glad I wasn't that other person. LOL

But what impressed us most was when the Manager came over and apologized, offered us a Tee-shirt and comp'd our drinks. WOW!  A shout- out to Sean for being a great server and fixing our order.

The funny part was when the couple behind us saw what had happen, they decided to offer a negative critique of their meal.  I believe half in jest. LOL, no LMAO.

One last thought. When you visit certain restaurants and pubs, you sometimes spot something passing your table that looks really good.  Here's three items for our next visit:

    * Ahi Chips -- Cajun seared Ahi tuna, cucumber salsa, wasabi aioli, and won ton chips, for $13.95;

    * Cuban Sandwich -- Slow-smoked pork, sliced ham, swiss cheese, pickles and beer mustard, for $11.95;

    * Scotch Eggs -- Hard boiled eggs wrapped in sausage, flash fried, served with beer mustard and pickles, for $7.95.

    Enjoy!

We were visiting Tahoe City with a group of friends and had to stop here for lunch! We're all from San Diego and love a good brewery so it was a no brainer.

The service gets 4 to 5 stars. The waitress was awesome, super friendly and made us feel welcome right away.

We ordered fish and chips, clam chowder, burgers, and of course, beers and cocktails. The beer selection was good, and the local brews were pleasant. We're a bit spoiled being from San Diego in terms of micro breweries, but it was good. The cocktails were great!

The food was okay. Nothing to write home about, nothing to complain about. Little things like a clam chowder that was luke warm (when it really should be served piping hot) kept me from giving the Tahoe Mountain Brewing Co. a 4 star review.

Overall a fun experience tho, I even bought one of their t-shirts (but that's cause I collect brewery t-shirts too) :)

My recommendation: if you're looking for a brewery by the lake then go check them out.

Ate lunch here yesterday. Fantastic!! Loved our food, service, beer (esp. Hop Dragon--woot!!).  Going back now for a Hopped Up Monk (or maybe a sampler) and a snack before back to the house for the SF Giants game. Maggie was terrific - you'd have thought she's been here two years, not two days. Manager Dan was helpful and informative, particularly to tell us about the upcoming 1st anniversary festivities in early June - wish we'll be in town!!

Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal here. Prices in my opinion, are a little steep, service is a bit slow but in Tahoe I guess you shouldn't really be in a big rush to do anything!
Portion size is decent, if you order the pizza its big enough for two people. Plenty to choose from on this menu including a full bar and a few beers.
Check it out if you are in the area!

The Sugar Pine Porter, and the Local Lager are both excellent.  The local lager is a steal at $2 for happy hour. But I found the "Hopped up Monk" Belgian ale to be cloyingly sweet.

    I don't recommend the pork sliders: <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tahoe-mountain-brewing-co-tahoe-city?select=QF-Rq7Lj3s4b3h8yqRoEyA#SYB62zMzA9et139avpxuEw">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>
The sliders are slathered with a hot BBQ sauce that completely obliterates the flavor.

The pretzel bites (pretzel dunked in hot oil) were OK: <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tahoe-mountain-brewing-co-tahoe-city?select=vWQvQorqtstW-cFy2gtXDQ#UoHfqReZFHwrBByeqeZbWw">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>

The scotch eggs were OK: nice texture, but not as flavorful as I hoped: <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tahoe-mountain-brewing-co-tahoe-city?select=vWQvQorqtstW-cFy2gtXDQ#mCkv7HOe2eSFZup7u1AA2g">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>

When we were here last, we decided not to come here based on the yelp reviews and now we're really bummed about that. This time, we decided to give it a try just to see and it was awesome! The food was so tasty (we were all happy with what we had and there were 8 of us), the beer was delicious (my husband is a HUGE beer snob, he got the sampler and was really happy with it), and we had great service.

This place has great food, great beer in a great location.

What a great place in a great location! We love coming here...the food is always delicious and the service is always wonderful! The ONLY thing that I would change is to have cheese to serve with your yummy homemade pretzels.

We like to try different places to eat and drink when we stay at the cabin and had been talking about stopping by Tahoe Mountain Brewing Co for a few months. Well, we finally made it in yesterday for some appetizers, a round of beer, and a growler to take back to the cabin. The food was really good, and we all tried a different beer and we unanimously agreed that the beer was tasty as well. We settled on taking back a growler of the pale ale, but were given a growler of the Copper Ale instead but that was not a big deal because,as it turns out it is a great beer. We'll be back to grab some more grub and to fill up the growler when we come back in a few weeks.

Waitress just didn't feel like even acknowledging that we existed. Not quite sure what she was doing, but at one point it involved getting out the ol broom and dustpan while avoiding any sort of eye contact. Was rather comical how bad it was. Food was ice cold. Both the tacos and sandwich + plus fries. Ice cold.
    2 stars for the beer.
This place could be so awesome. I'm hoping the management makes some much needed changes and things turn around. I worry that they're following the business model that so many mountain town restaurants follow, which is volume over quality.

We went here on a Saturday after the Snowfest parade that went through Tahoe City. We were seated right away outside, which we requested. Got served our beers quickly and the waiter was very nice and helpful. I got the beer sampler which was very tasty and fun to try all the beers.

Ordered the pretzel bites and nachos. The nachos were insane and yummy. The pretzel bites were perfect. My brother ordered the Mac N cheese which was a bit watery for my taste.

Overall experience was great, love the outdoor seating and atmosphere of the restaurant. Will def try to come here again for dinner next time I'm in Tahoe.

I went there hoping for some good beer and food, but...
The beer was mediocre.  The service was so bad that I did not stay to eat.  The place seems to be banking on supply & demand and their great location.  Such a disappointment.

I have to say, I don't understand why this place has such poor reviews. All I can think of is that most of the bad reviews were from when the place first opened.

From what I could see, they worked out the kinks with their service, the food was good, and they had some really solid beers.

I usually go into a place like this expecting the beer to be watered down, flavorless, and enhanced with artificial flavorings. I can honestly say that I was impressed with half of their beers, and the others weren't bad. I'd recommend the pale ale, copper ale, porter, and double IPA.

As for the food, I only tasted two items, but they were delicious. The Cubano sandwich is made with their in house smoked pulled pork and it was fantastic. My girlfriend had the mushroom flatbread (homemade crust), and it was tasty too, though hard to screw up.

All in all, I would definitely recommend the place.

This is actually a strong 3.5, but...
Each started with the lager- thin compared to what we usually drink, but good none the less. I choose the platter with brisket, pulled pork, fries,  cole slaw and a tangy bbq sauce for dipping; brisket was the best, the fries were hot, and the pork was good but needed to be "pulled" a bit more.  My partner enjoyed her brewer's flatbread.

Service was very good! Don't know why others had complaints, but our waitress was attentive, friendly, and checked in with us several times during our meal.

    Overall - check it out.

I thought their service was excellent. Their beer are mild. The only beer I end up liking is the porter. I think I got a growler of it. I thought the food was good but nothing special.

Good food, great beer. I've been here about 5 times since they opened over the space of several months. During the first few months, they were getting the kinks worked out with the service. It is pretty good now. We watched an NFL playoff game here and the servers were on top of everything despite being packed.

The beers are excellent. The double IPA packs a punch.  They have a wide selection ranging from a barley wine to a very pleasing red ale. The red ale is probably my favorite.

The only reason I didn't give five stars is that they close too early. I often roll into town at 10pm and can't even pick up a growler. I would imagine that they could be open past 9pm on weekends at the least.

Only thing good about this place is the beer...and that is because it has alcohol to help wash down the terrible food and forgot about the service.  I visit this place both in the summer and winter and man what a winter shame.  Took my family on new years eve around 6p and the place was a circus.
Understaffed, cold food and poor service. If you have a manager at this place you may want them to schedule better or hire some staff!
Your welcome for my $75 donation because I will not be back!

I heard/read mixed reviews about the food and beer and finally made it in to check on it myself. I don't eat red meat, so i ordered the mushroom flatbread and it was delicious, a generous serving size which i shared, and for a decent price. My friend got the wings and received 10 wings for $10 and we felt that was a wee bit overpriced but tasted good. Re: the beers - not much of a selection but ordered the ale and thought it was very tasty.

Apparently a secondary location in Truckee is gearing up to brew more beers for the selection soon. Also, not loving that the waters are served in disposable cups because it just doesn't make sense and its super-wasteful.

Overall the service was good, the food we ordered was good, the beer was good, and the price was a little high. Course it is on Main Street Tahoe City with a view of the lake, so rent overhead might be a little high. I'll go back and try out some other items on the menu for sure.

The smell outside was what drove our decision to eat here today.
My son & I both had sandwiches (tri-tip dip, and smokehouse sandwich w/brat). While we were waiting (a very long time) for our lunch, we enjoyed pretzel bites with some awesome brown mustard that obviously had horseradish (& some of their beer).
The tri-tip dip sandwich was delish; however, my son's sandwich (although had good flavor)...had poor presentation. It was just a brat served on a plain hoagie. The grilled veggies were served in a tiny metal cup...that had been grilled sooooo long they were barely recognizable.
Would I come back...probably not. There's too many other great (local) restaurants to try out.

Overall, we had a nice lunch at Tahoe Mountain. They have a great location, plenty of beers, and a nice view if you sit outside.

We ordered lunch. Service was fine.

    The food was ok.

The beer was ok. I tried the IPA.

We might stop back in if we are in the area again.

Beers that were on tap were not good at all. Bitter and not very flavorful. Also how can a brewery offer such a limited amount of beers?

The food was mediocre ( and later resulted in two people in our party being sick all night). The pork sliders were dry with melted cheese slopped onto two store bought stale buns. The house salad consisted of a bowl of mixed greens, chopped onions, a few tomatoes and a few slices of cucumber. Other people in our party had the Cuban sandwich (bland, made him sick all night), caprese  sandwich ( soggy) fish tacos(nice flavor) fish and chips ( fish was good...didn't order chips yet was still charged for the full meal) and the tri-tip sandwich ( decent, no real flavor...also resulted in a night spent in the bathroom). Not one person was satisfied. The food was bland and not worth the price.

The worst part of the evening was the service. We had to flag down our waitress for everything. No drink refills were offered, what kind of brewery doesn't ask if you'd like another drink? She would disappear for 15-20 min at a time. This would make sense if it had been busy, but there were two other tables in the restaurant besides ours. There were also 4-5 other staff members just standing around doing absolutely nothing.

Overall not worth the unfriendly service and over priced tasteless food.

We had a very pleasant experience at TMB Co.
I have to try all Breweries and their Beers. They had 5 house beers, mostly Belgian style. The wit was fruitty and fine, The Saison smooth and farmy. The dubble was strong and complex. They also have 5 guest beers and TG one was a Dales' IPA. Hoppy and Strong.

Food was overall, expensive. fried pretzel bites had about 10 nuggets for $6. The mustard sauce was flavorful, but very runny. Server recomended tri tip dip. It came out in about 2 minutes with being panini pressed. Was flavorful and good. Cole slaw nothing to write home about. Kids had a burger, more like a slider & the chicken breast. Fries were OK.

Service was friendly and Helpful. The view is of Lake Tahoe so very nice. The place has a new modern, mountainy feel.

    Bad food. Bad beer.
    Specifics:
Beer was mediocre and was not served cold.
Food was barely warm.  Nachos were gross. Chips tasted stale and did not have enough cheese, and the cheese that was on there was hard by the time the nachos were served. Other toppings were also tasteless.
I do admit that the fried chickpeas were delicious.
    Servers were nice and responsive.
Too bad this new place in a perfect location is serving such lousy food and drinks. Would NOT go back.

Worst beer ever! It's so bad that I had to create a yelp account just to tell the world to stay away! Seriously, my friends have brewed better beer in their garage!

I didn't have any food since the beer was so terrible but it looked pretty average. Tried both the porter and the hef and both were barely drinkable.

We visited the Tahoe Mountain Brewing Co on it's opening day, and really enjoyed this craft brewery.  Both beer and food were really nice, and the location was great, being right on the water front (loved the outdoor seating!).

Because it was the grand opening, there were only 6 beers on tap, but there was a list of beers (including a grand cru, yay!) that will be added shortly.  Hubby had the Wild Hair Wheat (ironically, my Mom's nickname is Wild Hair, because of her big, blonde hair) and I had the IPA, both were enjoyable.  The hubby said it was one of the better wheat Hef's he's had (he said even better than Blue Moon when its on tap).

I had the grilled polenta salad, which was OK -- the salad was a nice sized portion and was dressed nicely, but the polenta didn't seem like it was freshly grilled.  Still enjoyed it, and was happy that they had a few vegetarian options (wouldn't a veggie burger been awesome ?!).  Wish it would've come with a little roll or bread, and it would've been even better..  Hubby had the three cheese flatbread pizza and added seasonal veggies, it was a large portion and uber tasty (and we're both picky pizza people), he was even feeling generous today and shared two slices.

Decor -- pretty cute, comfy with custom built wood tables and boating props everywhere, great outdoor seating right on Tahoe Blvd with a glimpse of the lake and clean bathrooms.  All in all, a great little spot.  If the menu had a little more veggie options, I'd be happier, but I see us visiting next time we're in Tahoe.
