A Taste of Ely

beware... they have put all there effort into making a great looking place! Had some food with 3 other friends that was over cooked and took and hour and half, couldn't have been more disappointed, except for the fact that at the slow place it was we found out the owner was siting next to us. The response we got from when we talked the owner about the poor food and bad service was... "sorry your experience was so poor but please come back and try us again" Thought about and wondered why would I... if bad service and poor food is what i want, with so many other great places in Ely to eat at?

Last summer.... We went there and stood at the counter and was ignored.   Matter of fact, we were the only ones waiting to be seated.  There wasn't even a person at the counter to even seat us.

The wait staff just walked past us and didn't try to assist us in any way.   At the very least, they should have acknowledged us so we felt welcome.

What makes this worse is the place wasn't even busy.

Pleasant, but underwhelming

My partner and I stopped in for brunch on a Sunday and were surprised to one of the few diners there. I ordered the breakfast burrito with a side of bacon but was a bit surprised to find the bacon inside the burrito instead. Also, I'm a bit of a bacon lover and was disappointed to because I made it through half of the burrito before finding a piece.

Granted, there was nothing wrong with either the food or least of all the service, but I found the food to be something I could have easily made myself as in there wasn't a lot of special food prep or seasoning evident. I also wanted to try the baklava-like apple potica, but they were all out that day. I would have been happy if the food was even half as good as the service.
