Closed! :( It was the only club in Stockton to actually go to. Other are cool, but this one just gave it that real club feel.

So I went back to this club and I actually had a lot of fun. It gets really packed, but I liked the music they were playing and atmosphere was okay. Drink prices are about regular club price, so it's reasonable. Only downfall that I would say is the wait to get a drink. Bartenders are pretty quick though. Another thing I do like is the two different dance floors with different music. You can switch dance floor's if you don't like the music they are playing at the other, but one dance floor is a little small. On another note, I think they should use toilet seat covers which they didn't provide in the stall that I had used.

2 stars only because this is the best club in Stockton.  Actually thinking, I'm not sure if there are any more in the 209.  O well, this place is ok.  They have college nights a lot so cover is usually free.  That is a good thing I guess.  Other than that, nothing special.  Music's the type of music that is at every other club.  Drinks are actually made really bad and sometimes too strong to drink.  Ya, I said too strong.  I'm a guy and I know you want your money's worth with the alcohol, but seriously if a Midori Sour actually taste a lot stronger than an AMF, somethings wrong.  Bar is small in the corner of a club, so good luck getting something to drink.  There are multiple rooms, but usually upstairs is blocked off only for special groups where not too many people are up there.  Stockton people are always there so be safe when going here.  I would much rather go to a bar like The Abbey or BJ's than go clubbing here.

Am I a student? Yes. Should I be really be coming out to this place every Thursday night? No. Do I go anyway? Yes.

I have come almost every Thursday for the past semester thanks to their $2 drink specials and free cover for UoP students!! It's $2 for most of their well-drinks as well as Kamikazes! I looove their Kamikazes! Their mixed drinks? Not so much. I'm pretty sure I could make something that tasted better as somebody who is not licensed to be a bar tender at all.

Overall, probably the nicest club/bar for you to go to in town, esp if you're a student. It's really fun if all your friends go that night because then they open up the dance floor. On slower nights, they close off the dance floor and only open the side bar which only has a couple of velvet couches on the side.

Not too bad. Certainly doesn't compare to bars and clubs in Los Angeles or SF, but this will do for now.

Not too bad. Use to come here with a lot of friends. I always have a great time. But I becareful with leaving your car too far. My friends car got broken into through the window and stole whatever values, including my phone which I had for three to four months..really liked that phone.

Service at the bar is quick and drinks can be strong. There is a smoking section outside and its quite easy to make friends when bumming off cigs since most if not all is...drunk.

About two rooms playing top 40's or whatnot. its been awile so I dont remember too much..

But its like I said, not too bad considering it is in stockton.

3 cheers for being the nicest club in Stockton.

Taste is a pretty small club but that limits the awkwardness on the dance floor since it's never crowded. They play top 40 kind of songs and there's a few lasers to increase the ambiance.  The drinks are a little watered down in my opinion but decent enough and resonably priced at $7-10.

I only come here when UOP has events because 1) it's free if you show UOP ID and 2) other students will be there.  I probably would never venture out to Taste on a random weekend with my girlfriends since it's sketchy.

Ladies and I guess fellas too, be careful when leaving Taste because there are quite a few bums hanging around asking for money.

Tip! There's a free parking lot located on California St directly across from Taste Ultra Lounge.

What can I say?  It's the only safe and nice place for adults to hang out late night in Stockton.  I take that back.  Safe inside, but not guaranteed outside.

Some bouncers aren't cool, so they will really enforce dress codes down to the type of shoes.  For men, boots/Tims don't count (sometimes).  Play it safe and wear dress shoes and a collared shirt.

They're always playing the latest hits.  Full bottle service.  Guestlist is easy to get onto (on their website) and the wait at the door is often pretty short.

Best drink: Godzilla $20 (huge goblet of yummy greenness with a glow stick)

This is an alright place. There was only one bartender that seemed to be working at the bar.  The drinks were definitely weak. The Godzilla looked cool, but i didnt get a chance to try it. There were two different rooms to dance in. One DJ was wack. He did not know how to keep the crowd dancing. The other DJ was a lot better. The crowd was somewhat mixed. The bathroom was yuck. The club set up seemed weird to me. Parking was easy to find. It seemed to be in a kind of scary location. There was a homeless man that kept bothering people, but security kept running him off. I dont know if I would make the effort to go to back.

This place looks nice. That's the only thing good I can say about the place. The drinks are watered down and small. My friend got us on the guest list and we still paid $10 to get in. What the hell is the guest list for?

Went here last night for the Travie McCoy event. Aside from the 1 star I'm giving which is for the wonderful wait staff and security this place is a total bust on event nights. They fill the place to capacity and it's literally one person on top of another person, it's a cramped place with no ventilation. So unless you want to be directly on top of someone in your weekend best attire for an event I wouldn't waste my time on this place. Too many sweaty smelly people not my idea of a good time

My clubbing days have pretty much dissappeared since exiting my 20's two years ago... I find myself more of a bar and grill/happy hour connoisseur type of guy now... I was quite the scene whore in my days from the Bay to Brazil, so I felt that it was about time to quit before I became an antique fixture in one of these 20 something "look at me" jungles... However, I made an exception to give Taste a shot after I had heard some good things about their downtown Stockton Venue...  I headed to Taste this past New Years Eve, since a very good friend of
mine came from out of town and wanted to hang out and check out the club since he said he could get us in for free...I said what the heck, free sounds good in my book... Plus my GF had to work graveyard that night and I really didn't want to make it a Net Flix/XBOX night.... Despite hearing good things about Taste, I still had a preconceived notion that it was going to be filled with the more common douchebag clubbers that
frequent the clubs these days.. You know the Jersey Shore audition reject types with their poped up collared shirts, overly gelled up hair, Miley Cirus inspired Jeans and T-Shirts with way too many rhinestones and skulls.... Instead it was a fasionable mature crowd with a great lounge environment that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye... My buddy pulled some strings and we were greeted by the owner, Carlos.. He is a super
cool guy that made us feel welcome and even gave us free drink vouchers.. Once again free is good in my book... Taste had the whole dim red lighting with an Asian theme going on... Buddah was all over the damm place smiling at all the pseudo Mini Kim Khardasians running around in EXPRESS cocktail dresses... Must have had HELL of a sale that week...All the furniture was very IKEA/World Market.. In other words
"Modern" and "Functional Minimalist" The DJ played mainly hip hop and Top 40 hits or whatever KWIN dictates on a given night...The dance floor in the main room was spacious and began to fill up with folks by the end of the night.. Surprisingly there wasn't too much dry humping going on... My buddies said that their drinks were stiff and you definitely get your $$$'s worth... I only ordered Red Bull since I was the DD, but the
bartenders were super friendly and accomodating for small things like taking our pictures for us...We were also given VIP access to the upstairs portion of the club.., which was a smaller room lit with a TON of candles.. For a minute I thought we were going to see some Satanic ritual with talking goats and chicken blood... But no it was a more chill room with a DJ playing some House/ Electro music...Overall it was a pleasant
experience with no drama... From what I hear Taste is still going strong and avoiding the temptation of watering down the dress code for our more urban residents who feel that pants sagging past your ass and sports attire are appropriate for a night out in a nice lounge... Congrats Taste and good luck with your venture here in Stockton... I will definitely be back when I get the itch to visit my old clubbing roots...

I grew up in Stockton and everyone I know always goes elsewhere whether it be in Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, or even Modesto. This is the only place in the area that is a classy establishment where you dont really have to worry about anybody fighting in the parking lot directly in front of the club since its mostly street parking with a few smaller parking lots spread out around it.

We went to the website and put ourselves on the guestlist earlier in the day (we went on a Friday) and got to the club around 10:15. We only stood in line for about 10-15 mins and didnt have to pay. The drinks were $6 most of the night, and the DJ was playing some really good music.

Although its located in downtown Stockton, that shouldnt keep people from heading down and partying. Youll be pleasantly suprised when you get in there. Ill most definately come back again and again.

Everytime I've gone I've had a freaking great time.  Thursdays were dead. But Fridays and Saturdays were packed.  It's dress to impress. The DJs are really good.  It's always fun to see the live performers. Hey the staff is freaking amazing.  We've had tables, no tables, VIP, kitchen access.

If your in central valley, this has to be one of your stops.

i had an alright time at taste BUT I wont go there again and one of their bartenders is to blame. i ordered a electric lemonade i watched her make and when she brought the drink to me i told her it was missing the blue curaco so she made me another one the right way, and charged me for both drinks!!! she was a bitch and shes lucky i didnt throw my drink in her face. will def not go there again.

Truth is that even though I was born & raised in Stockton, I did not go out very much IN Stockton.  We would usually head out to the Bay area or up to Sacramento.

I've actually been to Taste Ultra Lounge back in 2006 when it was located in downtown San Jose, so I was pleasantly surprised that they upped and moved their operation to Stockton.

We came here last Friday night for a friend of a friend's birthday.  The wait was short and the people at the door were cool.  We were escorted down a hallway and went through a smaller room to get to the main room.  Dark and lounge-y as clubs usually are and the music was on point with Hip-Hop & Top 40.  The bottle service was great & the crowd was an interesting mix.

    Go Taste!

Been here a couple times on a Thursday night. First time I went there.. It was a joke! Like 30 people... Haha definitely nothing liek the bay on a Thursday night.

Staff/bouncers were nice.. Funny guys. DJ's are pretty good.

3 rooms, good for having a variety of music.

Very nice inside.. I wouldn't expect it from the outside. Even the bathrooms are kept someht decent throughout the night. Toliet paper and paper towels are replenished.

Last time I went, Goapele performed! She was good! Hella crowded... Downer to that is that she didn't perform til about 1AM, I got there around 10PM.

You have about til 7PM to get on GL, for same day.

I'll have to go on a more popular weekend night...

    Visit the website <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.TASTEULTRALOUNGE.com&s=2aa6365380690f93df754b990c0c4eaaa1ef03c10bed6e8af8df0ebeb51948e2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.TASTEULTRALOU…</a> for guestlist.

The vibe there is cool. I enjoy the vibe and music. They normally play Hip-Hop, Top 40 and Mash-Ups. Some DJs play music videos while others does not. They don't have a set evening that plans out whether DJs will be playing music video or not, just whether the DJs does or does not.

Coming from San Jose, I would normally get booked there when they don't have anyone to do so. So you could imagine that I've been to plenty of clubs and know when is a great vibe and when it is not. The vibe there, awesome! Unless you're the type to sit around to wait for something to happen, friendly attitude and just know how to have fun is the way to go and everything will fall into place. The owner there is also the owner of Sabor Tapas Bar & Lounge located in Downtown San Jose, Ca and their are very cool. They make you feel at home at every place that they go always great you with a warm smile.

The drinks there are okay. Some knows what their doing and others just in it for the fame and to work at nightclubs. You'll know once you start ordering around.

Overall, I would recommend Taste to everyone who are interested in a place to go in Stockton is Taste.

    #1-Get there early!

You can get on their "guest list", just sign up same day before 7pm and be in line at 9pm. Trust me, I was there last night and if you are not up there by 11pm you are paying the cover fee ($15-$20-No ATM Inside). We arrived at 10pm and it was a very very very long line.

I think they hold the line back on purpose to get those "guest list" lines to end up paying. So just be there early (hence the 3 stars for the lag in processing people in line). Also, it's Stockton, there is nothing else upscale clubish to do so everyone is there.

The drinks are mixed well. There's a great conversation starter drink called the "Godzilla" it's green(from glow stick) and smoke coming out of it(dry ice maybe) for the effect. But looks pretty cool & fun to drink. It also tastes pretty good too, can't put my finger on the drink but it's a fruity drink.

Supposedly there's 3 rooms, but really only 2 rooms are accessible. The 3rd room is invite only or VIP which is upstairs. (Reason for the 3 stars also)

I was really hoping for a room for just house music, but was totally bummed (Another reason for the 3 stars hahaha)

The bouncers were nice and professional and they pat all the guys down and yes, dress codes are strictly enforced for the guys.

They play the top club hits, it's dress to impress, no tennis shoes, collared shirt only & it has to be tucked in.

Leave the attitude at the door folks or your bound to get into a fight. So if you bump into someone just apologize, don't try to act hard. You're there to have fun so enjoy.

    Cheers!

This nightclub has got to be the most city like club in the 209 area.   The lighting was very cool and all the rooms were well decorated.  The music was great - top 40 chick friendly music.  I didn't hear a lot of hood music.  Some of the djs were playing music videos that were crazy!

The line was super long to get in, but worth the wait.  The club seemed to be perfectly packed, and there was plenty of space to get some fresh air, or get to a less busy bar.  Plenty of eye candy.  There seemed like a lot of guys there, but there weren't any fights or problems.

Its weird to think there is a club like this in Stockton.  I will definitely be back.

Its about time that Stockton gets a taste (yes, pun intended) of something new and refreshing.  Lo' and behold, Taste Ultra Lounge.

Located on California and Main in Downtown, this place is quite the nice surprise. The outside doesn't look as promising, as it is located inside this not-so-nice looking white building and Times New Roman looking sign, but once inside, definitely seems like another world!

My friends and I were able to get on the guest list this past opening weekend (which you can access on their website) and therefore were able to avoid a $20 cover (hopefully this was the cover only for this weekend and not going to be standard).  But the guest list closes at 11, so get there early!

Anyway, back to the decor...definitely as nice as it is in the pictures!  Fancy schmancy and has two nicely sized rooms. There's a third upstairs, but for some reason, was blocked off.

The drinks were EXTREMELY delicious!  You know how you find some clubs that make only a few of your drinks really good, but for this place...I went to a different bartender for every drink and every time, each drink was really good!  The prices are standard, but another positive aside from taste, lol, was that the wait to get a drink was never that long.

MUSIC was also pretty good.  Moving pretty much the whole time, but since my friends and I were jumping from room to room, a few of the songs kept repeating but.  Luckily they were good songs.

Dress code seemed highly enforced, for guys mainly.

Anyway, highly recommended.  Its something new and that's always exciting for us Stocktonians.
