Food is 3***, Â BEER is 5*****, so I give it a 4****
Yes! Happy Campers I have found us a place to sit, have a bite AND a cold DRAFT beer for under $10. Â Service is a true crap shoot, sometimes a winner, sometimes the pits (like last Sunday at 6:15pm), but usually, like most places, average 'for the area'. Â I see the service problem being, folks around here have never had good service, so they do not know what to expect, nor do they know how to train the staff properly. Â A damn same really. Â We would eat out much more if the case was different. Â
I don't usually get pizza buffets. Â That said, I have taken many folks here and they like it. Â The pizza is your standard southern pizza. Â Unfortunately, the buffet usually only has one pasta option on it and it is always very sad looking and bland tasting. Â The salad bar is okay, but they could do better. Â I usually order their Philly Steak Sandwich with au jus on the side and I am usually happy. Â The hamburger rarely disappoints Mr. Juicy. Â Their 'home-made' chips are usually cold, so be sure to specify you want "Hot + Fresh Chips or, you're going to send them back." Most of their food you have had many times. It's your average, (I imagine) Sysco, fried from frozen, low-budget products, but prepared properly (for the most part on most day. Â I will say, at this place when I have an issue, IF we make comment, the staff (usually) does their best to rectify the situation. Â That said, I have never had a 'perfect meal' there...but I have ALWAYS had a perfect beer!
I did one here that they have Draft $1 specials and live music every once in a while. Â Check their FB page. Â Last time I went they had out door seating open too! Â This place changed names from Spanky's (I do not think they changed any staff though).
Great Wraps!
A friend of mine brought us here after a business meeting in Lexington. Â They have a large selection on their pizza buffet but since I wasn't in the mood for pizza I ordered off the menu. Â My friend suggested the chicken wrap with waffle fries so that's what I ordered. Â Waffle fries are never a bad idea. Â They are only second to tater tots in my opinion. Â The chicken wrap was huge and very good. Â
There was a decent lunch crowd so they were busy but our service was still good. Â We had plenty to drink and our food didn't take long. Â This was a great place for lunch.
I've been to this location 3 times. The first my and my partners meal was still partially frozen. The second we go the buffet but we waited for refills on our drinks and never got them as well as the staff being rude and poorly trained on their jobs and service etiquette. The straw that broke the camels back was the final time I went to this location and the staff was horrible and completely worried about being on their phone and gossiping and the food was horrible. I will NEVER go back nor would I EVER recommend anyone going there. I don't know how they are even still in business. Sadly it's because there are so few sit down restaurants here in Lexington. Stay home and eat. You'll be much happier and still have money in your wallet.
