Although currently listed on Yelp for only lunch and dinner, I was here for breakfast, when they serve a good, but fairly standard breakfast fare. The place was relaxed and friendly and nearly empty. Pancakes are called "flapjacks", which must be a local thing, since there's also a Flapjacks restaurant across the street.
Review Source:I showed up here with a friend after working up our appetites during a morning of snowboarding. We sat down and looked through the menu, enticed by the BBQ offerings. Upon asking the server what she recommended, she said "Hands down, our pulled pork sandwich." We both opted for the sandwich and also started with an order of their nachos to share.
The nachos were good...the cheese sauce seemed like it could have been home made, but I didn't ask (or care, for that matter). We scarfed down the order, enjoying every cheesy bite.
Then, the sandwiches came. I asked for a jalapeno corn muffin and french fries on the side. My friend had baked beans and a jalapeno corn muffin. The fries were fresh and delicious, and the beans were ok. The star of the "side show" was, by far, the corn muffin. Moist, sweet, spicy, griddled and buttered, they were delicious. I'd go back just for those.
Now for the sandwich. Smoked pork butt on buttered Texas toast...how can you go wrong? The pork was good...nice smoke flavor with some delicious bark, tender and tasty. The bbq sauce was good, not great.
Overall, I thought it was a great lunch and would definitely go back.
'WELL, SWEETIE, THEY SHOULDN'T EAT IN A RESTAURANT IF THEY Â CAN'T Â AFFORD Â IT!"
Unbelievably, when the owner of  Texas Toast Eatery was called and asked why she placed a hold on our debit card TWICE for the same breakfast...DOUBLE BILLED us..this was the last statement she made to me, in a long line of rude and condescending statements, before I hung up in amazement and frustration at her obvious disdain for her customers.
Four of us ate breakfast there at on Sunday, January 13th.  Our waitress was wonderful, friendly and attentive. The food was ok, but nothing special. (as a matter of fact, I specifically requested Texas French toast and I got regular bread).  The bill payer used his debit card and tipped the waitress very well, as she had been so pleasant.  Then, we all got on the road; our ski weekend was over. During the drive, we were informed by the credit union that we were overdrawn, which could not be as we had double the amount needed for the breakfast bill in our account. When we called the credit union, they informed us that the owner (Mary), of  Texas Toast Eatery, had put a "hold" on our account for the entire breakfast bill plus tip (which was correct), but THEN she put an ADDITIONAL hold on the account for the price of the breakfast AGAIN!!!  DOUBLE BILLING!
I called her and she immediately exhibited a condescending and abusive attitude, repeatedly calling me "sweetie" and "deary", even when I specifically asked her to stop talking to me in that condescending manner. She kept informing me that "that is how online banking is done, sweetie" and that I did not "understand" online banking for restaurants. I informed her that yes, I did "understand" how it is done, and had been using my debit card for the past 20 years to pay for hotels and restaurants and that the hold they are allowed to put on your account cannot be DOUBLE the actual bill they handed you when you PAID the bill!!!!
She refused to admit she made a mistake and instead kept repeating "Sweetie, that's how it's done, you obviously don't understand!" (She ignored my requests to stop calling me sweetie).  When I informed her that because she double billed the hold on our account, we were on the road, needing gas, and could not use our debit card because she had FRAUDULENTLY double charged the hold she put on our account, rendering what we SHOULD have had available in our account, UNAVAILABLE.
When I informed her of the predicament SHE had fraudulently put us in, her response, and I quote..."Sweetie, if you cannot afford to eat at a restaurant, you shouldn't!"  We were screwed because SHE double billed our debit card and THAT is her response! I lost my temper and hung up. She could have cared less about her customers, or making her incorrect billing right...she couldn't even carry on a conversation without expressing her disdain for her customers!
SO, fair warning...only eat at Texas Toast Eatery  if you would like to be DOUBLE CHARGED for your "average" breakfast, be talked to condescendingly when you are billed incorrectly on your bank hold, and then wait several days for her to "fix" what she refuses to admit was a mistake! It took FOUR days for her stupid, incorrect billing to clear.
Never again. There are other restaurants in Lincoln that treat their customers with courtesy (and accuracy).
While on a ski trip I ran upon this reasturant that does BBQ in NH during winter.Tucked into a mall this Gem it turns out does indeed do BBQ and does it well.
I was greeted by the owner who was at once freindly and prompt. I was sat effectivly and went to work on the menu.Side note as a NYC Chef I impress not at all easliy, with that said I was ready to be skeptical.Any thouights or doubts were quickly extinguished,The food is as good as it gets for BBQ.I got a heaping Platter of some of the best wings ever and then follwed that with A platter callled The Sampler. It contained a perfect conglomoration of all things BBQ and it was a Knockout. The Puuled Pork ,Beef Brisket and The Ribs were Top Notch sublte hints of hickory and smoke permiated the Ribs anbd the brisket was fork tender. To top it of it comes with a heaping pile of house made French Fries that were killer.I later learned the owner is from Texas and that she knows her BBQ .Also they serve a Steller Breakfast that should not be missed.Call ahead as the Hours change and you would,nt want to miss great food as this. There aren't many dineing options in Lincoln and you don't want to miss This. A special thank you to The owner for the special request .It made our trop
We will eagerly See you are next time through
Me and my husband are currently having a weekend getaway in north Woodstock NH not far from Lincoln NH and we're both fans of BBQ but often have a hard time finding a place worth eating at. I can honestly say that pigs ear BBQ was fantastic! The buffalo wings were great and the home made blue cheese was even better! Jalapeño corn bread was great and I hate jalapeños. We shared a pulled pork sandwich since the portions are huge and it was delicious and their home made BBQ was the best I've had at any BBQ restaurant. Service was amazing, it was a hole in the wall place you wouldn't even think they were open due to the mall being almost completely empty with only one more store other than the restaurant, but don't be fooled give this place a try! I'm sure glad we did!!!
Review Source:Went there for lunch today. Â Food was so good. Â I have celiac disease, this restaurant should be on the gluten friendly list. Â My husband had a sandwich with pulledmpork, brisket and melted cheddar cheese onva hoggie. Â I was able to have the same without the bread. Â We got a choice of 2 sides, I was able to have the homemade potato salad and Cole slaw. Â They are open for breakfast and lunch til 2 pm. They are open on Friday and Saturday til 8 for dinner. Â We will be going on Friday night for our last night in new Hampshire.
Review Source:(first review!) This place is definitely underrated on yelp. There are some places you go and get what you'd expect. The dishes here go beyond expectations. I ordered the stuffed french toast that went above my expectations (see picture). Nice presentation, delicious toast, fresh fruit, and homemade cream. I usually don't eat cream because it's too sweet, but theirs was made just right.
My wife, a self proclaimed eggs benedict connoisseur, had the eggs bene and said that it was one of the best she's had, ever. The eggs were poached just right and the hollandaise was neither too lemony or too buttery.
The service was great also. Alex was very friendly and attentive. There were no long lines and the food came out very quickly.
We happened upon this place when the other local breakfast spots had too long of a wait for our liking, and we were lucky we did!
We dined here on our recent stay in Lincoln, NH and had to try it out since I'm a big fan of BBQ and also dabble in this cuisine on summer weekends by the pool. All in all it was a really good experience.
Mrs. M and I shared the combo platter for 2. For 28 dollars you got a huge meal consisting of ribs, beef brisket, chicken, pulled pork, jalapeno corn muffins, baked beans, corn on the cob, cole slaw and potato salad. My son had a kids meal of ribs (which shocked the wife and I as he is usually pretty fussy about ribs).
The ribs were decent, Mrs. M absolutely loved them. I found the rub to be good and they were quite tender, but lacked a visible smoke ring and seemed steamed almost. The brisket was great, tender and flavorful. The pulled pork was very nicely done too and Mrs M. enjoyed this very much as well. The chicken was great in my opinion, but Mrs. M was not a big fan.
The true star of the meal for me were the baked beans which I thought were the best I ever had, without a doubt! Mrs M liked them very much too, but she was crazy about the cornbread, she couldn't get enough of it, so I did the right thing and backed off my half portion so she could enjoy more. It was a fair trade in the end though as I got more than my fair share of baked beans.
The boy devoured his ribs and loved them quite a bit. He said the french fries were awesome too.
A fair score would be 4 1/2 stars but Yelp doesn't allow for half stars of course. Mrs. M asked what I would score them and I said 4 1/2, to which she replied you're crazy and asked why. I explained that the decor was somewhat lacking and their location is terrible, on the second floor of a half empty desolate mall. She said I shouldn't hold that against them and was rooting for a five star review. I personally wish that they had a better location as I think people are really missing out here. It pained me deeply to see the local pizza and sub shop packed to brim with clients throwing their dinner dollars at lame pizza when this place is working magic creating wonderful cuisine at affordable prices.
One other note, they have an open air kitchen so I walked up to the counter after dinner and told the chef what I thought of her beans and cornbread. She was very cordial and shook my hand thanking me and launching into a explanation of how to make the cornbread at home without me ever asking! I jotted it down after leaving the restaurant and will be adding it to my repertoire!
Please do yourself a favor and get into a better location, you need to show these tourists that there are better food options than pizza and subs at a reasonable price!! Yelpers check this one out, you will appreciate it very much.
great  food.  Orange French toast is awesome!  My 10 year old insisted I yelp this place because he loved it.  the place is tired looking in an empty mall but the owner/chef is a sweetheart and the food is excellent.  My favorite is the real maple syrup and my husband said he had the best hash browns ever.  No lines on a Sunday morning either....
Review Source:In Lincoln for the weekend, stopped here for lunch. Â Everything homemade...we loved it. Â We sampled the onion soup (we couldn't get it because we had already ordered more than we could eat, but the owner brought some out so we could try it), steak sandwich, and BBQ sampler platter. Â All was divine, the ribs were in the lead as my favorite. Â Very "kitschy" decor with pigs and stuff, some may care about that stuff but I was there for the meat.
We stopped in again the next day for lunch, but there was a power outage, so they were closed. Â My teenage son almost cried.
Texas Toast Eatery/Pig's Ear BBQ is in the second floor of a small mall.  It's not a bad place to go and the service on  visits was top notch, really nice waitresses who were informative and helpful.
I ate at Pig's Ear once in its old location and absolutely adored the food, but I'd just come off the trail during a two week backpacking trip and it was my first cooked food in over a week. Â Subsequent experience has convinced me that I was easy to please during that first visit.
The barbecue is a little on the weak side.  It may well  be smoked, but it seems they re-heat by streaming.  The meat was soft and moist, but without bark or any hint of crust.  It did have some smoked flavor and enough good pork flavor to make for pleasant eating - but you don't have to go deep down south to find places where this would not pass for real barbecue.  I won't be trying their barbecue again (the last four BBQ places
I've visited have better stuff).
I agree with James. I also had the burrito it was very delicious. Slightly spicy but just the right amount. It was topped with fresh tomatoes and a really good queso. The cottage fries were tasty they had carrots and peppers cook with them, the hash browns were slightly raw but it gave them texture. For the burrito and a side totaled approximately 9 dollars a bit more then other places but I left full and happy. Fortunately I had a buy one get one breakfast free coupon. The waitress (the only one working) tending to five tables was very prompt and never left us lacking anything. She was also very pleasant. Â The restaurant itself is pretty small about 10-12 tables, the chairs are little small but I didn't feel like I was going to fall off. There is even a TV for those who can't live with out one. I would definitely come back and try something different.
Review Source:Ate there for the first time and it was great. Â I can't remember the name of my breakfast dish, but it was some type of cantina burrito. Â It's so nice to see a breakfast place that's not just bacon and eggs. Â I highly recommend this place if you are looking for something a little different
Review Source:I went to eat dinner here last night and lo and behold, my experience exactly matches the other Yelpers who gave the place one star.
I cannot make any type of comments about the food because we walked in at 7:50 to the building, used the restroom downstairs and headed up to eat (by this time, it was probably 7:55 pm.)
We got to the doorway and stood there for approximately 3 minutes while the young ladies working there ignored us. I asked them finally, "Is this self seating?" and she said "nope we actually close at 8" and took the "please be seated sign" out of the door right in front of me!
I was kinda pissed but I figured it must be past 8. We headed down to the car and turned on the clock and it said 8:01 on the clock - and it probably took us 3 minutes to get back to the car... so I was livid!
What  kind of business do they think they run!? I wish I could get in contact with the owner and tell him that the girls are pushing business away purposely and ask him how he feels about it (unless he is on the same page)
Needless to say, I will never ever return here because of the discourtesy I was given. Unbelievable! All the times I stay up there I will bring my business to somewhere that wants it.
I've been here twice, and it was outstanding both times. The service is friendly and the food is unbelievably good. Great BBQ, the cheddar jalapeño corn muffins are fabulous, and the strawberry shortcake is the best I've ever had, hands down.
Sounds like other folks have had issues with their somewhat fluid hours, but it's just a 2 person staff most of the time, and stuff happens. Call ahead, and you won't be disappointed.
Yeah not sure about those other two reviewers with the one star, but we had a very pleasant lunch/dinner after a long day of skiing. We were met with a smile at the door and seated promptly. The waitress I believe may have been part owner as well. I am a pretty big fan of BBQ and this play did not dissapoint. They have free refills on lemonade which is always a plus. We put our order in, it came out as expected but prior to our meal we were given some of the most delicious corn bread ever *more later. My youngest son opted for the ribs from the kids menu which came with fries and he enjoyed them. They don't put much sauce on the actual ribs, but there is a bottle at your table at your disposal. My other son and I ordered a platter that read (great for 2 people) on the menu. They weren't lying, the platter had about 5 ribs, 2 quarter chickens, pulled pork and beef brisket. Everything was spot on good, it could have been a little hotter but if wanted it hotter they would have made it hotter i'm sure. They were really nice. Okay so they offer free ice cream with the kids meals, but even gave my other son a free ice cream sandwich. Now this corn bread, I was so blown away by it, the cook actually wrote out the recipe and gave it to me. In addition, he came over to the table and was super friendly.
They don't have booze, but I am pretty sure you can bring your own. I say screw the other two reviews on this thing and try it yourself. I mean you are in Lincoln New Hampshire....geesh
You'd never know that there was a recession the way that these guys treat their customers. It's supposedly open until 2:00 for lunch. We arrived at quarter to 2:00 and the dining room was less than half full, but they turned us away. "We're closed" the hostess said.
Margins are tight in the restaurant business. Turning away a party of four makes them even tighter. Businesses like this deserve to fail.
Unprofessional! We unloaded our young kids after a long day in the mountains, to go eat dinner. We went in, and it didn't LOOK open, but I walked to the door. There was a big sign next to the door saying that Wed-Friday they were open until 8 pm (it was Wed at 6:10 pm). I don't know what kind of business thinks they can just close whenever they want, when they state certain hours on their sign, but I was pretty angry.
Not only did we not get to eat until a while later because nothing else was open (at least they made it known that they were closed), but we had to put the kids back in the car much to their dismay. With young kids (2 and 4 years old) it's not a pleasant thing to have to put them back in the car when they are hungry and tired of being in the car.
Hopefully someone will read this and call before they unload their kids from the car, only to be let down and have cranky, hungry kids when they find out it's closed.
