My wife and I liked the food here. We had their calamari appetizer which was perfectly cooked and had a cool Asian inspiration. Then since it was restaurant week we had a prix fix 3 course dinner that was delicious. Ps I am a chef and my wife and I have both worked in restaurants for 10 plus years.
The only thing we didn't like was the decor and two tvs above the bar. But it was clean, and the waitstaff was really friendly and on top of things.
I think many of the recent reviewer's concerns were addressed. My husband and I chose to check them out on a day we had just driven 4 hours from downstate. It was warm (not miserable) out and we just wanted to sit inside. The place wasn't full, but there was no place to seat a party of 2 inside. Really? You couldn't break down a smaller table? We ended up "al fresco." this made me cranky. Our waitress seemed to sense this and really knew what to do and how to treat us. A mature woman, she really had the customer service thing down! Isn't that really what it's all about? I remember ordering a wine that turned out to be excellent (list by another awesome local business, Boyne Country Provisions) and having a meal that made me happy. More than anything, I remember customer service. Please continue giving this place a chance!
Review Source:Wow! Â Great food, service with a smile and be sure you sit on the patio. I had the orange spinach salad - don't miss it. My ranging hunka o love had the whitefish pate which he pronounced excellent. Beer selection is outstanding with many MI beers to choose from. Go here and help them succeed - we need good restaurants like this to stick around.
Review Source:Disappointed, Â Food C+ but the time it took to get the food out of the kitchen will kill the place. Â 1 1/2 hours to get an entree is TOO long. Â We really wanted the place to work but based on our first two visits it won't make it. Â You would think for opening week the kitchen and staff would have been adequate to handle demand... it wasn't.
