Service was very slow and waitress had an attitude. Salad was good . Scallops where very over cooked and WAY too much ginger. The risotto was also over cooked. The bar was also very noisy.Prices where a bit high since it is in Durham. I would not return.

Awesome food.  This restaurant is very good and the prices are more than fair
My family eats here often. I would not hesitate to send people here. The owner is usually walking around checking on things.  Great place to watch a sporting event

    I have come here many times and the food is always fresh and tasty. Prices are fair for quality food. I will be back.;

Service was extremely slow.   Pasta dishes had way to much nutmeg.  I'd give it one more try-

Driving past, this was not at all what i expected this place to be.  I was expecting more of a tavern place, but this was a bit more upscale that then in the dining room.

There are lots of choices, more than i needed since i was in the mood for more tavern type food.  The sandwiches and burgers we got were pretty good.  The service we had was good.  no complaints there.

I bit overpriced for what i was looking for.  But overall not a bad place for dinner if you live close by (not much else is around either).

Not certain how NYC prices can work in Durham but I imagine if you have a captive audience who still want more burgers and beer than fine food it can work. Some menu items are very good but the dining room service tends to be slow. Apps are right out of a Frozen box and pretty mundane though wings are better than most. Salads vary one time crisp and fresh and next wilted and bad,be detain to order dressing on the side or you may end up with a pool drowning out the greens.
Specials can be good and if you stay with more plain very rewarding but watch out for the creative ones it often seems the chef does not know how to pair tastes that compliment each other.

Beware of the Calamari! I have come back here multiple times despite the tortoise paced service. Last night however will prove to be my last. I am willing to give up my Dukedom to whomsoever may be willing to take it. The calamari woke me up at 2am because they had decided not to swim around nicely after consumption. I've never been through childbirth, but if it was anything like what happened to me last night, ladies, I tip my hat to you. I wouldn't wish their calamari on my worst enemy.

Restaurant staff was incredibly friendly but prices were way too steep for what is essentially diner food. Food was good, not extraordinary but just fine. I went with a friend for late dinner.

Although we have drove by this place a million times it was our first time trying Time Out, after being seated we waiting about 10min before anyone came over to us, our waitress was pretty friendly although the other girls umm not so much! The menu was ok not huge but nice variety. For the location and the dinner choices i found th menu to be pricey we ordered an appetizer chicken sandwhich and salad and our bill was 40$ dinner entress were about 19-28$The bar was neat and the outdoor patio was a nice addition. We may not make a special trip back here but if were hungry and driving by Id eat there again.

**NOTE: My 2-star rating is based strictly upon a late night visit to the bar only. The kitchen was already closed, and I cannot judge the food at all.

We arrived to Time Out Tavern at about 9:15 on a Wednesday night. A sign at the front door had the kitchen hours, and we saw that they close at 9:30. As service industry workers, we of course we not going to ask for food or sit in the dining room. So we walked into the bar, and checked out the surrounding booths. As we were doing so, a grumpy looking waitress came out to tell us very loudly and rudely, "Kitchen's closed! You can't get food!"
Oh boy. Now i really need a drink, and it better not be from that server. We sat at the bar as far away from her as possible. I thanked my lucky stars when a much nicer older woman came around behind the bar to take our orders.
The atmosphere seemed nice, and at any other time, I'm sure this is a great place to enjoy a meal. I would love to give it another try when I am in the area.

Stopped here on our way through town to grab dinner. Sat outside on the patio to enjoy the beautiful weather we were having. The interior is very nicely done, a bit fancier than your casual restaurant, but comfortable nonetheless. The menu has a large seafood selection, steaks ranging from $19-$28, chicken and pastas. I had their cobb salad and it was nicely presented and delicious. The hubby had the clams over linguine and enjoyed it. Service was prompt but not the friendliest. Overall, a nice dinner--we would come back again.

Wow! This place has really cleaned itself up after the fire. We went to Time Out for dinner and a little NCAA/NIT Tourney action. We figured our other options would be mobbed and curious to see Time Out's make over.
This place is fancy when compared to a sports bar. One side is the dining room and the other is the bar. We were there to watch ESPN U but we had the worse TV to look at, hung high in the corner of the bar. Apparently the NIT does not get precedence. The menu was fairly standard but not necessarily pub fare. No hot dogs, or quesadillas and 2 choices of burgers. But I ordered buffalo chicken tenders with fries. I got a huge portion of chicken with fantastic creamy and chunky bleu cheese, tons of carrots and celery, and the fries were a little different and a bit girthy. The sweet potato fries were crinkle cut and amazing. The boyfriend enjoyed his French dip with au jus.
My other friend ordered the "adult" mac and cheese with asparagus, this was certainly interesting. The combination of 4 cheeses were really strong but made a great cheese sauce for the fries.
I think the most expensive entree was a $21 filet mignon. Most of the sandwiches were prepared as paninis. I'll go back but not necessarily for the bar.
We were given amazing service, I think they felt sorry for us cheering for SU in the NIT. My  friend's Kiss the Frog martini was gorgeous.
