I've been here about a half dozen times. Â Here are some food and misc comments on the place.
#1 - BRING CASH! Â They DON'T take credit cards.
The wings are good and the cook will make them extra crispy, saucy, etc. if you just ask for it.
The burgers are phenomenal and have that fresh-made appeal to them.
They do trivia nights (I can't remember the frequency or night of the week).
It's pretty divey so no need to dress up.
Cold beers.
I believe it's a 21+ establishment though - only bad thing I can think of other than the cash only thing. Â
Lastly, just accept this review on the type of establishment it is and don't compare this place to a fancy pants restaurant and you'll be fine.
The one star is for the waitress/bartender, she did a great job. Â However, the food I ordered, chilled shrimp. macaroni salad and cole slaw, did not taste fresh at all. Â I ate a few bites of each and stopped, and I AM NOT A PICKY EATER! Â The men in charge of the place were upset with the waitress for some reason, and kept badgering her verbally in front of the customers......it was very inappropriate. Â We chose not to return for drinks because of this.
Review Source:Coming from ks I know my burgers and this place despite the appearance has some damn good burgers. My wife got the chilled peel and eat shrimp and said the were absolutely delicious. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is cause they do allow smoking inside! But other then that I will return the next time I'm in cocoa beach!!

Plenty to watch
Plenty to entertain
After reading this was a good spot to watch NFL games, I dropped in here for a MNF game wearing my jersey, and was rewarded with my first beer free, so I was off to a good start that way (pity the Eagles lost). Â Jacky was friendly and welcoming, and asked (then remembered) my name, which was a nice touch. Â Sadly, the place was pretty dead, so even though there was potential for the place (pool, tons of TVs, and touch-screen), they were already cleaning up as the game approached halftime, and the place smelled more like bleach than gametime enthusiasm. Understandable because it was off-season for this beach community, but still a little disappointing.
Oh well. Â If I return to the area, I'd give it another shot.
Here's what you need to know about Tip A Few Tavern:
1. It's a dive bar and doesn't look like much on the inside or outside.
2. They have delicious burgers and use topnotch ingredients. The beer-battered onion rings are amazing. I'm sure other items on the menu are good too, but I can't get past the burgers.
3. They allow smoking inside, which is a real bummer. I don't care for the smell of stale bar smoke when I'm trying to eat. To be honest, I'm not sure how they get get around the Florida law banning smoking in dining establishments. It must have something to do with the % of food vs. alcohol sales, but it's still suspect to me.
4. They don't serve liquor and they don't take credit cards. I could care less about the liquor, but "cash only" is extremely annoying. They have an ATM inside, but getting hit with a service charge at the ATM and from your bank is a major downer.
Despite some negatives (mostly just the smoking) I still like this place. Maybe I'll try and eat outside when the weather cools down in 5 months.
We didn't eat here, just ordered a bunch of beer and I really liked it! The bartender was soo sweet! We asked if they had a full liquor bar, and although they didn't she recommended different places nearby but we decided to stay and I'm happy we did! The atmosphere of the bar is really cute, and apparently they have the ~best burgers evar~ which unfortunately I did not get to indulge in. There are some pool tables and comfortable booths and the noise level was perfect, we didn't have to scream over one another to have a conversation.
What really impressed me about this place was the bathroom. I LOVED IT. Yeah it was clean, but the way it was decorated was completely adorable and I spent a little bit longer in there than I normally do just looking at the interior. Great little dive bar, would drink here again!!!

They have 22 tvs, with the NFL package and a pool table that's free during the day. Â I hang out here if I'm not working or traveling. Â Say hi to my good friends Liz and Sherri that work here. Â Richard is the magician in the kitchen, and sometimes ED the owner helps out. Â Great local food, great friends in a sports atmosphere. Â A must visit. Â Smoker friendly
