This is an awesome little place to stop when you are driving on the five (Hwy 5 for all you non Californians)  and are near Buttonwillo. There is also a Tita's restaurant about one hundred miles north of the truck but I recommend the truck because the service is faster and the food is cheaper.

This food truck has a combination of El Salvadorian and Mexican food, both of which are pretty good. I have had a couple pupusas and a few tacos. I recommend the chicharron pupusa (Pork and cheese) and for the tacos I suggest lengua (Beef tounge) or tripas (small intestines) tacos. The portions for the pupusas are huge and of course served with Curtido, pickled cabbage to accompany the pupusa. at the truck you will find condiments such as two different salsas, cilantro, radishes, grilled onions and jalapeno and the best part, free beans to go with your meal.

When you are traveling this is a great place to get a bite to eat to break up the monotony of fast food places. If you don't speak any Spanish the interactions with the food truck ladies maybe a little difficult but they are very friendly. You might want to avoid this place late at night as there are some interesting characters that visit the truck. I have had no problem with any of the people that frequent this place late at night and the wild conversations they may propose can often provide some entertainment while your eating.

Next time you are on the five and near Buttonwillo pass by McDonalds and try Tita's!

On my drive up Hwy 5 I wanted to stop at a non-chain restaurant for breakfast. For almost $4 I thought the pupusa price was high but it did end up being quite large. We ordered the revuelta since it was the only one with meat but they either forgot the chicharones or they chopped it so tiny it gets lost in the cheese. Pupusa lovers would approve with the gooey cheese and good masa texture.

We also ordered a couple carnitas tacos which were delicious. I may go back for their tacos and burritos next time I stop in the area, but prices weren't necessarily cheap for a truck in Buttonwilla.
