I had a bad food experience the first time there but gave it another try and was pleased over the past year of doing business with them.  I recently received a birthday gift card but after 3 attempts to use it and the way I was handled will never go back even if I had dozens more gift cards.  Saturday afternoon and the next Sunday morning I called in for a to go order telling them I had the card but was told they were just too busy due to biker's weekend.  I told the lady no problem but that my card expired that day so asked when they cut off service so I could order dinner for myself and guests that night so I wouldn't have to cook for everyone.  I was told midnight but when I called at 8:45 I was told food service cut off at 9 not midnight like I was told.

I asked to have a manager contact me since I had not only been given incorrect info but had accommodated THEM by saying I would order later on 2 occasions since they were so busy.  The 2nd time I tried to order I was told it would be a 2 hour wait for a to go order because 30 bikers had just shown up so I thought I was being nice by saying no problem for the 2nd time in a 2 day period.

No manager has ever contacted me which doesn't surprise me since if you aren't a biker or eat in to tip well they could care less.

    Friendly service.

Great food - Cajun Grilled Snapper was cooked to perfection.  Spicy and delicious.

Sweet Potato fries were awesome. Make sure you get the fried pickles (saloon chips)

Smaller place than I expected but totally worth the drive.

Can't wait to see their expansion.  (rumored to have sand volleyball and a dance hall)

Way to go - Good food - Crazy Clean restaurant - Super friendly staff.

Awful service; slow, everything comes out at once. Way under staffed, everyone we've given them a chance. Okay place to sit at the bar and drink..... Maybe. We will not be returning.

Nice Holiday Weekend evening experience. Sunday evening music was high volume.  We prefer background noise. Several Flat Screen options.  Occupancy 40%.  Upscale biker décor.

Nice causal menu & reasonable prices.  We selected the Pulled Pork sandwich w/ sweet potatoes fries & The Solution Burger, medium temp, added cheese & asked for grill vs raw onions.   Timely delivery.  OK presentation.  Large sandwiches. Pulled pork was awesome. Great flavor.  Burger was beyond medium, still juicy.  Both sides we a distracter.  Fries & onions were overcooked.  Distracting.

Toilet were clean & well fashioned.  Overall experience, we'll return.    Great friendly service.

This place is impressive. Wonderful decor and you can tell it was well thought out before they opened. Too bad they did put as much time and thought into their staff and management team. 3 of us went to dinner and I was excited to try this place. I walked in and the decor is amazing, there is a chopper at the front of the restaurant and there is awesome decorations all over. We sat down and there was a guy there singing in front of the fire place. He was great! It was some country music and it went so well with the ambiance. I was waiting for Wyatt Herb (spelling???) to come out and take our order.
Then we kept waiting, and waiting and waiting. About 20 min later our server came over and took our drink order, which was delivered back to us quickly. I thought maybe our bad luck was over and perhaps it was just a one time thing. We were ready to order but our server said she would be right back so we waited. And waited and waited and waited. UGH!!!!
We finished our first round of beers and I went to the bar and bought 3 more from the bartender in a black wife beater covered in tattoos. She was nice and quick but when I mentioned that I was coming to the bar to get them myself because our server was off god only knows where...she simply asked for the total. The two and a half hours I sat there I expected a manager to come by the table as that usually customary at most restaurants and we were there for so long and they were not that busy so...you'd think she would stop by at least once. BUT NO~
I finally had to track down our server to pay out. I couldn't believe the horrible service at such a nice place with such great food.
The kitchen has their shit together and the food was badass but I won't bother telling you about that. As most of you yelpers know you can tolerate bad food if the staff is amazing and you have fun there but if the food is great and the service is awful...NO WAY!
This place is a NO WAY! They book decent music so if you want to chill out and have a beer or two that you get from the bar yourself and enjoy the music so be it but if it's dinner you are looking for go elsewhere.
The owners should look at their management staff and figure out why they are invisible on a Friday night and also, why they have been unable to motivate and develop the staff to at least mediocre service...its just sad that with the amount of cash they put in that place there should be a 1 hour wait instead of a half empty dinning room on a Friday night.

So I found this place on yelp.
I found used Yelp map to find the place.  The directions are very good.  BUT dont be surprised when it says to "park along 29 and walk to your destination"  Don't worry  there is a parking spot.
So dont be surpised when you walk in and see alot of "biker things"   IT is not a biker bar.  IT is a PEOPLE friendly bar.  Everyone is welcome.
It is very nicely decorated and have foods and drinks.  And even breakfast.

We started with fired pickle slices.   Very yummy with a side of BBQ ranch dip.

    Then on to main entree.
I choose the Warrior Burger.  It was AWESOME
It is a whole wheat jalenpo pepper bun, a beef patty cooked the way you want it.
Your choice of cheese, I went with the pepper jack and my spouse choose cheddar.
Then topped with a thick cut bacon that is lightly black peppered and coated with maple flavor (am going to assume syurp), then bun is lightly toasted with butter and then a then layer of mayo.  Then slather on the guacomole!  and top it off with a fried egg any way you want it.  I sugguest over easy!   THIS burger was sooooooo great.
Served with a choice of sides.  I picked homemade potato chips.

    I will be BACK!!!!!!

been a few times now to Tombstone, and will be going a few more times..

Steaks are pretty good, nice accompaniments offered, especially the Swiss Chard. Meat is always prepared the way it has been requested.
The Calamari is probably among the best starters. The potato skins are a meal for two in themselves, but so tasty.

Burgers would normally rate better than good, but they have very serious competition with Hardtails on the burger front. If you have eaten Hardtails burgers, Tombstone will disappoint.

The waitstaff are friendly and helpful, but desperately untrained. Tombstone needs to invest in training them on the food, tasting the food, understanding the preparation,in order to sell it. Same for the beers and wine. Simple questions get a sad blank stare.Beer selection is very goodand quite extensive. Wine selection is so bad it defies description.Stick with the house wine.

all in all, a good place to go for meat and veg dinners, and a friendly atmosphere.
Live music is on the weekend, but cant be heard as the room is too noisy, so it just adds to the noise.
best place to sit on a fine evening is outside.

There is nothing bad I can say about this wonderful place. The owners take a lot of pride in the food they prepare from scratch and the service offered to their customers. I love the atmosphere and the location. I would suggest adding a sign so people coming from Georgetown can find you but other than that keep up the great work.

We've been to Tombstone a couple of times and the food is generally okay, but the overall experience isn't what I'm looking for. I believe the concept for the place is supposed to be a "biker bar."  However what this area actually needs are more family friendly restaurants.  We went there on a Tuesday night and were given a menu with nothing but sandwiches on it.  We asked to see the full menu and were told that the kitchen is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and it was just a "bar menu."   We left and went somewhere else as we didn't want a sandwich for dinner.  The restaurant sits on a hill and has a nice vista, but you can't actually see the vista when you sit outside because of the way the parking lot and the outdoor seating is situated, you end up looking up the nose of all the F150s, or admiring the bikes... I'd rather see the vista.

When I reviewed their specialty drinks, I was excited to try one of their creative, unique drinks. Unfortunately, the bacon and whiskey drink was absolutely the most disgusting thing I have ever drank in my life. I could still taste the nastiness the next day. I let the bartender know how bad it was and asked for a XX to wash the taste out. He got me the beer, and charged me for the untouched $9 drink and the draft beer.

It's sad, because it looks like the owners put a lot into the setup, but it is already beginning to look messy and run down. I was hoping to like this place, but it's a miss.

Come to Tombstone for a pleasant surprise. Whether it's for a fabulous meal with the family all prepared from scratch (professional chefs and pastry chef) or just a pit stop to have a drink and enjoy the beautiful views of the hill country. Tombstone is a must see place to enjoy. From a full bar with a wide variety of ice cold draft beer, big screen TV's everywhere so you can enjoy watching your favorite team including outside under their 80 foot front porch, to shooting a friendly game of pool to the sounds of live bands or a state-of-the-art jukebox that you can access from your own iphone.

Tombstone is new to the Liberty Hill/Georgetown area and they definitely are doing things right. Top class, but a place you can put your feet up and just enjoy the surroundings. Friendly service, great food, great prices, full bar all in a very comfortable atmosphere inside or outside. What more can you ask for?

Liberty Hill needs a place like Tombstone!  We were pulling for this place to be a success.  However, like many new restaurants, they have some serious problems to work out.

    The short story:
Likes: The location (close to home!), the friendly server we had and the live music.
Dislikes: The food and the way issues are dealt with by management.

    The long story:
We went with friends for dinner, and had a very unsatisfactory experience.  Three of us ordered various burgers, and one had the chicken fried steak. Waited about 30 min. The CFS had a very strange taste and was mostly batter, and was way overdone.  The side of macaroni was inedible.  All burgers were ordered medium, and all were served very well done - burnt in fact.  Mine came on some sort roll that was literally caked with flour on the bottom.  Not a dusting, but enough to give me a big mouthful of dry flour.  Ugh.

Ok, so not such a big deal - we just sent the three burgers back (CFS lost her appetite and didn't want another) and waited another 30 minutes (which is a long time, even though the food is made from scratch.  Are we butchering cows  and waiting for dough to rise back there?!) only to have the food come back burnt again.  We all ate a few bites and left the rest of the food.

The waitress apologized and said "the not very good cook is back there tonight".  The manager came over and really just stood there not saying anything after we nicely explained what happened.  It was quite awkward.  She made some excuses after awhile and offered us a free dessert, but based on what we had seen we declined.  Personally, I worked in foodservice for four years and if one of my customers had had an experience like this and obviously couldn't eat the food, I would have comped their meal and apologized.  Instead, they let us leave hungry, disappointed and out $65.00 after all that.

We're not the complaining type, in fact we are pretty easy to please and rarely send back food at restaurants. We certainly were not looking for a free meal.  We voiced our problem because we want this place to be better!  Also we ourselves are business owners and always appreciate hearing about things we can improve on, but this manager just seemed offended that we didn't enjoy the food.

I am also shocked and disappointed to see that Pamela K is berating and accusing people with her snarky replies to customers on Yelp just for offering up their opinion.  Yelp is just that - mostly people offering their thoughts to help others make good choices and help businesses improve their services.  I understand she just want to defend her business, but you can't really tell someone that their opinion - their personal view -  is wrong.

We were really hoping that we just caught Tombstone on an off night, and planned  on giving them another chance, but after reading these comments we really don't want to go to a place that verbally attacks their paying customers.

    ** Update **

After my review was posted, I noticed that several of Pamela K's replies had been edited, and most of the rude comments had been removed or softened.  Hopefully this is a step in the right direction!

Dined there last night with my son. He had chicken fried chicken. He really liked his food. I had chicken fried steak. It was good but the portions of the food were on the small side.
DISLIKE - you have to pay extra for any subsittutes in your sides. Not cool. The standard sides are mashed potatoes (bland) and corn on the cob. The smallest corn on the cob I have ever seen. Literally 2 inches in length. I also paid extra for mac and cheese which was fair tasting at best. I will go back and maybe try something else.

I have eaten at tons of SCRATCH KITCHENS and none of them charge extra for side substitutions.

We went for the first time because we were meeting a good friend who lives in the area.  The place seemed very new.

The service was friendly and solicitous.  Since we were there near the end of October, many of the waitstaff were dressed up in Halloween costumes.  Our barmaid was unbearably cute in her black catsuit, with a personality to match.  She was delightful and made us smile and laugh.

The beer taps were fairly well stocked with most of the popular mainstream brews.  The food menu was a bit limited, but had something for everyone.  I was in the mood for a good ole-fashion Texas-style ribeye, and they delivered it - hot and juicy, flavorful, a little bit tough, done to perfection.  The mashed potatoes were a bit disappointing, but that's OK.  Mrs. Bear had the roasted, glazed pork chop and mac 'n' cheese, and pronounced it excellent.  Our friend had the grilled quail, and said it was excellent.

The food portions were generous, but not overly so, and the prices were quite reasonable.  After dining, our waitress tried to entice us with a long list of delectable home-made desserts, but we were too full from dinner and pints of beer to consider having any.  We chatted and watched BCS football on the big screen HDTV at the bar until time to depart.

This place has a lot of charm and a lot going for it.  If you find yourself near Liberty, Texas one evening, be sure to check this place out.  You'll be glad you did.

Been 3 times now.  The food and service has been great!  We've sat on the front porch every time.  The parking is right in front of the porch, which makes the exhaust from vehicles/motorcycles when they leave a little overwhelming when you're trying to eat, but other than that....

So I finally decided to give their food a try.  And I must say, I'm a fan!!  I love steaks and by far the best cut is the ribeye!  Tombstone's 14oz ribeye is really good!!  I had mine prepared medium.  It was a little over cooked for me, but still tender, juicy and tasty!  I would definitely order it again.

Also, The sweet potato fries are AWESOME!!!

Not to mention, they are volleyball friendly!  Yes, rumor is that they are adding volleyball courts!!! :)

I've eaten dinner here once and lunch twice. Each time I got a burger with sweet potatoe fries. The food was great! One thing that needs to be said is that the sweet potatoe fries are awesome!! (I could snack on those all day. They are thin and crisp, and still have a tangy sweetness to them.) Also, the homemade burger was very good and juicy. Everything was well worth the price that I paid.

The service was also good. Although there was a nearly-full room of people, we were still attended to promptly and with courtesy. Kind, but not overly formal.

Live music was nice to have on the first night that I visited. Kept the atmosphere light and casual.

The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is great too! I definitely recommend this place for my friends.

Tombstone is exactly what Liberty Hill has been needing.  Very nice location, facilities, an actual chef in the kitchen and they even have clean bathrooms!  The staff is attentive and welcoming.
I'm excited to see this site developed over the next year and will certainly become a regular.
Come give these new guys a try!
