Tommy's Place

I wish I could actually be able to comment on the food. Unfortunately we visited Port Jefferson for the first time and sat in this restaurant for over 20 minutes without being offered a drink, food, or even a menu. The waiter told us that he was the only one there yet every customer outside had their order taken while we sat inside and were ignored. He would look at us and kept saying it would only be 5 minutes, but I couldn't wait any longer since 5 minutes was turning into 20 and my 2 children were getting extremely hungry and fussy! Very disappointed!!! If I could give it a 0 if i could!!!

Tommy's place is the place to go when going down port at night. It does get really crowded because there's only a few bars worth going to in the area so it can take a long time to scavenge your way to the bar. They have a great patio outside and much seating in the restaurant area in the back. I like the setup where you get the feel of a sports bar but go through the doors in the back and its like a whole different place. Tommy's have hosted many of my friends birthday parties and they have the space to accommodate, just come before 10 on weekends.

when it gets busy, it gets really crazy!  It is your generic sports bar, and when sports games are on the hot wings are 50 cents a piece.  at least thats the way it was a few years ago, I believe it is the same.

When it is a non-busy night it is very nice.  the bartenders are quick and curteouse, and it is usually silent and peaceful.  They don't rush you at the bar, I've had many a first date there and it is always relaxing and informal.  

I have never patronized the restaurant part of the establishment, so I can't speak for that. Every time I came I've only went as far as the bar, lol.
