Went there with a large group, including children, and I have to say that while the food could have been better, the service was impressive. Â We had one server for a group bigger than two dozen and she got every single order correct. It was great because the children could go into the pool nearby (adult supervision necessary). Â I would say that in my experience in these dock-side restaurants in the Ozarks that food is fair across the board, but again, here, our server was great which made the event seamless for so many people.
Review Source:Okay, first, I premise with a clarification of the name: Â "TOPSIDER".. You can probably get away with "The Topsider", but please, for the life of me, stop calling it TopsiderS. Â Phew... moving on..
I can happily admit that living at the Lake but not being a "local", I am not a party enthusiast for the majority of bars down here. Â However, I absolutely LOVE Topsider!! Â From the cutie boys behind the bar to the multi-level options to the $1 night specials on Mondays... this place has it all! Â
During the summer months in Missouri, you will find yourself hopelessly annoyed with the weather. Â Topsider offers an indoor nightclub, indoor bar area, top deck seating, poop deck seating & bar that is covered, pool bar & lounging, and a waterfront tiki lounge with the option for covered or uncovered seating. Come rain or shine, the party will still carry on at Topsider. Â Not to mention, I have NEVER stood in line for a drink! Â How could you with all of these bar options plus waitresses ready to serve you?
Other points I have to touch on:
- Atmosphere: Â Beach club (at the Lake) by day, party by night! Â They have a large pool open to the public during the day, and it's always a good time! Â At night there is a good mix of people to mingle with!
- Food: Â Yes, they serve food (during the day only)! Â And you must try their list of specialty drinks and their Tuna Melt.. (must. try. tuna. melt.)
- Music: Trainwreck is their house DJ and always spinning a great variety of tunes inside! Â I highly doubt he takes requests because the place is always packed, so just get your drink on and I am sure your song is already in queue.. Â There is also live music at the tiki lounge on some nights!
- Cover: Â Not every night has a cover, but when they do it's reasonable and it fairly offsets the drink specials they'll be serving up all night. Â
- Parking: Â Tons of parking, this is not an issue. Â I don't suggest leaving your car there for days upon end, but if you have to leave it overnight (as I have plenty of times), its safe and they won't tow you.
- Boat Slips: Plenty of boat slips as well and honestly, sometimes there is just as big of a party on the dock as inside.. but it's not to frequent UNLESS you're with a boat... So don't be a creep. LOL. Â
Good times, convenient location, a lake fave for me!
My husband and I had a great time at Topsiders! The DJ inside was awesome and mixed songs as well as the videos on the multiple screens inside which was very entertaining, mostly hip-hop and rap. The crowd was a good mix and the service at the bar was fast. Outside there was a live band on the patio playing pop hits and classic rock so there was a good variety of music for almost anyone. The place did seem a little dated but light and sound system very modern. Would def recommend!
Review Source:If Jersey Shore had a Midwest version called Ozark Shore, you'd find your cast at Topsider's.
The $5 cover when they only had an hour 20 minutes left until close was lame. As was the $20 minimum on debit cards. The mixed drinks were weak, watery, and expensive. The bartenders and most of the bouncers were friendly, except for a certain dude that almost started a fight with me when I called him out on being a completely unecessary dick to me (apparently it's his "job" to be an asshole...wow, you're gonna get far in life)...classy.
The venue itself is pretty cool - very spacious inside with a creative layout and fun little light show...the outdoor patio with the little waterfalls overlooking the lake was very nice. The DJ was good, and I liked the music video projector. He played a good variety of stuff.
I hate to admit it, but I'd go back. I'd just probably have to get shitfaced first.
