We had a dinner at 6 there tonight. Â From their advertising and signage, we thought it would be a nice, classy meal. Unfortunately, the restaurant was super-dirty and the food was just past mediocre.
Dirty tablecloths, sticky saltshakers, stained window coverings, tiles falling off the walls, loose duct tape hanging off a lamp fixture, flies buzzing around and a dead one on the windowsill at our table. Â Our dinner prayer was "please don't get sick," as we tried to make the very best of it and were on a time crunch so going somewhere else was not an option. Â
One positive thing -- the food LOOKS GOOD -- obviously whomever is cooking back there sincerely cares about how they put food on a plate, as the tomatoes on our burger were of perfect ripeness, the lettuce was crisp and fresh, and the burger meat, while overseasoned and undercooked, was fresh in appearance. Â Other items, like croutons and sauces, were past the due date, but at least the cook obviously takes pride in what s/he puts on a plate.
We won't return. Â If only I had the cash, I'd buy the place out and give it a good scrubbing, a facelift, and with that location take the chance at a handsome profit!
We went here on a Wednesday night around 6pm. Â We were the ONLY people there so that was a little odd but after we sat down we knew why... the service was terrible and she didn't have a clue what beers were available, the food is VERY overpriced and the taste is bland and nothing new or inventive- the same kind of food you might get at Village Inn but at 2-3 times the cost. Â In the whole hour or so we were there we were still the ONLY customers there. Â No other customers even came in for the bar. The credit card receipt actually shows Roundup which was its name years ago... Will NOT be going back here again.
