Thank god this place closed down...I like dive bars, hell I spent my college years in them, this place was a stinky dump, with shitty drinks, and local drunks.

Is now The Grid.

If you're staying some place around King's Beach this is a great place to get a few drinks and mingle.  It's within walking distance of a lot of the places in King's Beach.

Tradewinds is an interesting intersection of class and people.  I want to over exaggerate and say half the people there were drinking PBR and screwdrivers (Lake Tahoe working class) and the other half were drinking Amstel Light and cosmos (people visiting from the City or out of state).  And everyone gets along and mingles.

It gets extra lively the nights they have live music.  I don't think live music is on a set schedule so you might want to call ahead before.  One night I was there this guy played and sang a lot of Bon Jovi, country and the Cure.  It all worked somehow.
