3? 4? 3.5 Stars? Â I don't even know, I can't decide!!
The service was just OK. Â Our waitress was there...that's about it. Â Not friendly, not putting forth any more than she had to, just...present. Â Eh, I've had better in the service department. Â However, the food was also just "ok" as well. Â The patio was really nice to sit on on a nice summer evening in June. Â It was large and spacious and very popular with the locals!
I got the pasta with vodka sauce, my daughter got the kid's mac n cheese, and everyone else got pizza. Â The pizza was ok. Â That's about the only good thing about the meal. Â
The kid's mac n cheese was Kraft. Â Good, but not worth the price considering it's $1 for a box. Â If you're paying that much for mac n cheese at a supposed Italian restaurant, I don't expect it to be out of a box...
My pasta came with soup--I tried the pasta e fagioli soup, and it was NOT good. Â It tasted like bean soup. Â WAY too heave on the beans, and the broth wasn't that good, either. Â So the base is bad, the ingredients are bad. Â I only took about three bites. Â Luckily, it was free, otherwise I would have been very disappointed!
The actual pasta was just ok, too. Â The vodka sauce wasn't the best, but it was definitely edible. Â I have my favorite vodka sauce, and this place didn't come close, unfortunately.
The pizza was good, though. Â And I didn't pay, otherwise my review might have been lower! Â I would come back to try some different things, but not on my own dime ;)
Tree Guys is starting to become a habit. Â Why?
1) TWO Church Street Brews on-tap along with a few other good craft brews.
2) Very good food. Â Had the Cajun Chicken Slammers special on Saturday and it was delicious. Â The food has been consistently good since we re-discovered Tree Guys.
3) Great daily drink specials. Â Example: Saturdays are $3 "You Call It". Â Now you're talkin'!
4) Prices that won't break the pocket book.
I can't even review them for their food because we never had the opportunity to eat here and I'll tell you why. Â It's 7:00 Friday night, April 12th. Â My son and I wanted some pizza and I had always wanted to try this place. It's a Friday night and it's packed. Â I enter through the back and I'm along with a bunch of other people that are "waiting". Â There's a counter with 2 girls and 1 woman. Â One is answering phones, one is on a computer and I discover through asking that the "woman" was the hostess. Â Now I'm standing at the counter kind of surveying the crowd and how busy they are patiently waiting for someone/anyone to acknowlege I am standing here and maybe a "can I help you?" A good 15 minutes goes by. Â Then the "hostess" proceeds to call out a name. Â I ask her "are you the hostess?". Â I get a snotty "YES!". Â Allrighty then. Â She's already set the tone for me. Â I tell her party of 2 and my name. Â I wait another 10 minutes and decide you know...I don't really think this is starting out good and it's probably not going to end much better. I realize it's a Friday night and you are busy but Customer Service goes a long way in getting people to frequent your business and/or come back. Â Can't say that I will. Â Maybe the bar is better?
Review Source:Our department lunch today was from Tree Guys and I ordered a beef sandwich w/ fries. Â The sandwich had absolutely no juice and the beef wasn't good either. Â The best thing were the hot peppers. Â The bread was literally DRY. Â I've had their pizza in the past as well and even that's just ok. Â Maybe I'm spoiled by living around pretty much all great food/restaurants (in the city) but Tree Guys is another reason why I can say the food around this area; Itasca & Elk Grove Village is horrible!!
Review Source:Tree Guys was a pleasant surprise with great value, friendly service, and good food. I expected it to be a divey pizza joint but it was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The menu had some fabulous options and I hear the lunch buffet is good. I had a beef sandwich that was outstanding and the Minestrone soup was a great compliment to my sandwich. I definitely recommend the Tree guys side of the building.
Review Source:I had dinner at Tree Guys tonight with five other woman. A bunch of insurance professionals after an evening meeting looking for a tasty dinner. And that's exactly what we found.
We wanted to sit in the dining room, but they were packed and there was nowhere for six of us to sit together. It was a Tuesday evening, so there was plenty of room in the bar. We sat in there.
We ordered two large pizzas. Buy one, get one free (up to $12 off) on Tuesdays. This works. Unfortunately, the margarita pizza was over $25. I thought it was a mistake on the bill, but apparently it was right.
The pizzas were good. The service was not. At all. Sitting in the bar seemed to mean that since we weren't chugging beers at the actual bar that we didn't deserve attention. Our quick dinner took way too long. From having to ask twice for menus to having to hunt down the waitress for the bill. Then there was some confusion about the drink special. One of the other gals asked about the special. It was a draft beer for $1.50 or something like that. She said that sounded good and ordered one. Her beer came in a bottle. The check came and the beer was $3.25. Obviously we should have said something when the drink special arrived in a bottle rather than a glass. But the waitress obviously misunderstood the original request. Annoying.
Overall, I prefer Tree Guys for carryout pizzas. The crust is great, the sauce is nice and there are plenty of toppings in every bite.
I was brought here under duress, and I'm so glad because had I known the food was going to hit it out of the park I would have been a much more willing hostage. The food was wonderful. And so was the service.
This little spot is sort of a pizza place/sports bar rolled up into one, very comfy, and a nice place to relax. I get a kick out of a man who, occasionally, likes to live dangerously and order for me. Tree Guys brings out the mellow in you.
We loved the veggie with garlic thick crust. Despite being a "thin" fan, I really loved the thick crust ... seemed like it had an additional infusion of garlic, so the more the merrier. We waited a bit, but no problem.
That gave me time to snoop at what the rest of the folks were engulfed in. The burgers looked phenomenal and a few of the pasta entrees I saw looked like something I would definitely get the next time.
And next time there shall be. There is much to be said about finding little neighborhood joints that go the extra mile in flavor and food because there is always an additional silver lining: the price!
Tanks a lot, Tree Guys. Molto bene!
When people at my office want to go out to lunch together, this is a typical favorite. Â Located in beautiful downtown Itasca, IL, Tree Guys is located in an old building retrofitted as a restaurant.
I would classify them as Italian - they are known for pizza and pasta, but have more traditional Chicago fare, salads, hot wings, etc. Â So, the selection is large.
I've been there a few times and have tried their burgers, chicken sandwich and wings. Â During my visit last week I tried their burger for the first time. Â It is served on a regular hamburger bun, with lettuce, tomato and onion. Â You have a choice of side and I chose their home made potato chips.
The burger was very good. Â Made perfectly medium, it was grilled and very juicy. Â The chips were also very good - they were not greasy and were not overly salty like so many chips are. Â
The place is kind of a dump though. Â My impression is that it is clean, but it looks like it has not been redecorated since the 1950s. Â Perhaps that's how they keep their prices in line. Â
But, discounting the appearance, the food is good and the prices fair. Â The service is also very good and this helps make the experience a good one.
We were staying at the Westin in Itasca (3rd weekend in March 2012) but I forgot to leave the review then. However, we wanted something quick and simple...preferably pizza or wings. We initially tried to order from Lou Malnati's but could not get through to place an order, so of course, we went on Yelp. After reading the reviews and seeing what they had to offer, we decided to give it a try. Sholl' hate it! I wish we had waited to get through to our favorite place. Â :(
This review is a combination of customer service and food. I wish we could give "negative" stars...I really do, but 1 will have to suffice. I can't remember the last time I've been treated so shabbily at an establishment. My husband and I drove there...on a Friday evening...in hopes of getting a quick bite to eat. We planned to pick our food  up and take it back to the hotel.
When we got there, it was busy (of course) but we were totally ignored to the point where I had to get someone's attentions to even get a menu to look at. No one acknowledged our presence in the least. Walking past, hurrying away, no one spoke, smiled, or inquired if we needed help. Â We went to stand at the cash register so as to get further information and/or ask question about an item on the menu. I started to speak to one of the ladies on wait staff and she walked away...while I was speaking to her!
To make a long (and painfully ridiculous) story short, after much ado, we finally got someone to take our order. Â We went across the street to Starbucks, got our drinks, drank, dawdled, and dragged back over to pick up our order. When we got back (approx. 20-25 min. later) we had the same issue. We had to "grab" someone's attention to ask about the status of our order. Even after saying it was about to be ready, we still had to wait.
At this point, due to the blatant rudeness and disregard, I was annoyed beyond measure, but hated to cancel the order and ask for our money back (plus we were hungry). I wish we had. Once we finally received our order, there was nothing remarkable about it. The chicken was bland (and the sauce was not good...major disappointment) and the pizza was so-so...at best.
I truly value consideration and customer interaction, even if you are busy. It was inexcusable to be treated like that in an establishment where we spent our money. Â After reading the reviews, we were looking forward to experiencing food from some place different. Although the food was nothing to write home about, the service (or lack thereof) left a sour taste in our mouths, and made it even less enjoyable. So you want my honest opinion? I'll give it to you. Combined with the horrific customer service, too-long wait, sub-par food, I feel like we wasted time...and money, and have no desire to go back...ever.
This place may not look like much, but they offer a pretty good buffet on Fridays for just $8. Not sure what they normally serve, but what I saw was a fair variety made up of Italian sausage, beef, chicken wrap, pizza, fish, salad, and watermelon. Considering everything was above my normal expectations from buffets, I left happy and with money in my pockets.
Verdict: Better than your average buffet, and great service at the bar.
Recently relocated jobs and this place was recommended to me by a couple co-workers. I went on a Wednesday for the first time, to try the buffet. The buffet was REALLY small, a couple pizzas -- fish, a few salads. Wasn't impressed by it as compared to say, Aurelio's buffet. Out of the pizzas on the buffet, my favorite was the deep dish.
Went back another time and just got the pizza and was really impressed. The sausage has a great flavor and the crust was nice and crispy. The sauce didn't give me heartburn which is always a bonus. :) The price was lower than what I'm used to so no complaints there! My only issue is that for lunch, the pizzas take forever to get out there so I feel kind of rushed eating.
All that said, looking forward to when it's warm out so I can eat outside on their deck.
All in all, good place. Check it out!
This is an interesting place, but I'm a fan. It's a weird mix between nice Italian restaurant and dive bar/towny restaurant, if that makes sense.
First, I'll review the restaurant. When you walk in the door, don't stand there like an idiot waiting for someone to seat you (that's what I did my first time and everyone was staring at me). You have to go up to the counter and someone will seat you from there. The food is really good. The cheeseburger sliders are awesome. They kind of taste like butterburgers but they are really delicious. I have yet to try their pasta or pizza, but I'm sure it's good. They really know how to cook their food well. Their chicken parmasan is great. They know how to bread it well so that you're not eating all bread and no chicken. I would also recommend getting the sandwich version of this. You will not regret it. My dad didn't like their ribs, but c'mon, who orders ribs at an Italian restaurant? Â
Now the bar. I go here for Thursday night football since the bar has NFL network (score!). You can eat dinner at the bar instead of the restaurant. They have about 10 beers on tap and a full bar. As far as the environment? If you didn't know that it was part of Tree Guys, you would think this is a regular dive bar, and I guess it is. A lot of locals come here. There are also the usual drinking-since-10am guys who like to argue with fans of opposing teams, just for the hell of it. Who argues a Jets/Broncos game? Townies. It's funny to hear. If you want to sit, it may be difficult to find seats, but they'll free up eventually. I've seen kids here too. I don't really think you should bring kids to a bar, especially for their birthday, but hey, do what you gotta do. Overall, this place is good. Just don't go to the bar for a nice cocktail. For that, go sit in the restaurant.
The lunch buffet on Wednesdays and Fridays is awesome. The deep dish pizza is great, and they also have a fantastic fried chicken salad. My work has ordered regular thin crust pizzas too (also featured in the buffet), and they are good but the deep dish is way better.
I've never been there for boozing, and I'm not sure I'd really want to. It's a little dive-y on the inside. The buffet is definitely worth a visit though.
Very impressive Italian pasta and garlic bread. Pitcher of beer was not very cold and the service was slow. I had the rigatoni carbonara which was very rich with a savory bacon-smoky flavor that was terrific. The garlic bread is warm, herby and light. One order is good for two persons, so order more if you have a group.
I had the soup of the day which was Stuffed Green Pepper soup. It was delectable and thick, almost a stew. I highly recommend it.
Next time I'm in Chicago area I'll be back here.
Great Place!! (4.3819661stars)
We ordered the Tree Guys Favorite. We all loved it. Â I really like this place and was glad to be back. It was fun. Â Tree Guys is located next to the Itasca train station. We made a stop here on the way home from the city.
The service was great, They were all eager to serve. No doubt a reflection of good management.
You have a good thing going Anthony...Keep it up.!!!
Great pizza at a good price - especially on Tuesdays! Â Thick or thin, makes no difference, the sauce is well balanced and toppings are multitudinous. Â Other Italian dishes can be hit or miss, but generally are prepared well. Â There's a dish called "Rigatoni Carbonara" Â - pasta with sauteed onions and bacon in a creamy white cheese sauce - Â that has enough cholesterol to kill a horse, but believe me, if you live through it, you'll love every bite.
Review Source:The pizza is bland and not that great. An individual pizza is 8 bucks and it serves 2-3. Stick to something else on the menu. There is hardly any parking space; Â I had to walk a half block to get in once the lot filled up. And I couldn't figure out how to get into the dining area. I've experienced better.
Review Source:Came here for the second time. This time we actually ordered the pizza. The first time i had their brownie dessert which was superb but I could not get over the delicious smell of the pizza!
If you go on Tuesdays, it is buy one get one free, which is awesome!
The environment makes me feel like I am in a filthy college bar back at U of I. (which isn't a bad thing for me but I'm sure it could be for families). It is always kind of chilly because people keep opening and closing the door to get their smoke breaks in ...multiple times, it is LOUD, people are drunk, buzzed, playing loud drinking games or watching the game. Seems exactly like a college bar and not a great place for a family to eat because it can get kind of rowdy. I'm sure earlier in the day it isn't like this. But this was around 8pm during a Bulls Game. Despite the draft and the loudness, dirty bar floors, and the overall bar feel, it still gets somewhat cozy, and I'm assuming even more cozy once you start drinking! :_
Our waitress was nice but really rushed.
On to the food..we ordered a giardinara pizza and anthony's special (giardinara and garlic) and, trust me, the anthony's special was WAY better, it SMELLED SO GOOD, but you must be a garlic lover! The anthonys special tasted amazing, while the plain giardinara, was whatever. They charged us a $2.00 to take home the pizza if you do not finish it there, we took the whole anthonys special pizza home with us and so it was basically like buy one , get one for $2.00 if you take it home or buy one get one free if you finish it all there!
The beers were cheap too, $2.00 for a pint!
They have pretty good deals/specials through the rest of the week as well but Tuesday seems to be the most popular!
The menu is also pretty extensive so it is hard to choose just one to two things!
Oh.my!! I met up with some Yelpers for a long overdue get together. I am not sorry I came to Tree Guys. Not sorry about the great company and good times and most definitely not sorry about the food!
I sampled some of the Seafood Combo Appetizer and was sorry I did not get one of my very own. The Calamari was fresh, not the least bit rubbery, legs and all.The mussels were tender and the clams were not gritty. These bad boys were all done up and served in a rich, garlicky tomato sauce that came with a few wedges of garlic bread for sopping up the sauce, but not nearly enough bread. Holy Mother of Pearl....had I been in the privacy of my own home,I would have bathed in that sauce. It was that good!
I ordered the Tree Guys Favorite pizza....yum,yum and yum! The thin crust pizza has Ricotta, spinach and garlic generously distributed on it.I am a fan!Another at our table tried a slice and he said he was sorry he did not get that pizza.
Yes......Tree Guys will see me again and soon,I hope! Service was good and the food was even better. Prices were reasonable and the menu has a lot to offer.Right across from the Metra station, so even city folks can make the trip! Place was VERY crowded on a Tuesday, partially because of the buy 1 pizza get another free special on Tuesdays.but also because they serve good food at a good price. We will be back!
It may only be Tree Guys, but it's 5 stars in my book. This was the destination of our November NW Suburban Dinner group. I selected it based on Renita M's recommendation and we certainly found a great place. Before we even got here, I wasn't sure how things would work out, as they don't do reservations on Tuesdays because they are so busy thanks to the 2-for-1 pizza special that day. Well, after talking to one of the Tree Guys, Anthony, I got there early to stake out a spot and to my pleasant surprise, they had a series of tables joined to accommodate our group.
Inside, it's not that big of a dining area but it is not cramped either. There is a fish tank on the counter as you come in. The walls are decorated with an Italian theme throughout the place. As I sat there waiting for the rest of the group to arrive, I was amazed at their diverse menu. It's not just pizza. There's burgers, hot sandwiches, seafood, pasta and all sorts of appetizers, soups and salads. In this idle time, I had to conduct a series of tournament style elimination rounds in my brain as I pitted menu items against each other to decide what to order. Pasta Fagioli soup had no chance against the overpowering might of the 3-meatball sandwich. Likewise, the beef & sausage combo towered over the pasta dishes that I pondered. But in the end, perhaps by an upset, the jalapeno-parmesian burger prevailed, beating out the mushroom-swiss burger in its own division. A real Cinderella story... if Cinderella were a burger patty with all sorts of spicy things on it.
I don't think there was a bad thing on their menu. I had some of Alice's calamari appetizer. I also got me some cheesy garlic bread which had a thick layer of melted mozzarella on top. I got a look at Aimee's pasta fagioli and it looked amazing too. My burger was certainly a winner, with a coating of parmesian covering spicy pickled jalapeno slices. And the red onion slices on top packed a potent combination of flavor and heat between the buns.
I saved room for dessert and went for the tiramisu, which is my benchmark for Italian restaurants. Definitely big enough for two people, I saved some for home. The flavor was rich and cake-like, not too coffee-ish like at some places. Blooms of whipped cream adorned it from all sides.
Service was great the entire night, as we got our food and drinks quickly and the staff took good care of us. Tree Guys is a great place in the heart of Itasca and I certainly will stop back here if I am in the area for lunch or dinner.
Tonight, I drove to Itasca to meet the bi-monthly NW Suburban Dinner club... only this time, we strayed geographically. And I'm so glad we did!
Tree Guys is this totally homey slice of a restaurant. The menu is stacked with easy favorites done right: a wide range of apps, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, pasta and of course their signature pizzas (thin, thick and deep dish). Regulars in our group mentioned the thick crust takes quite awhile to prepare, so I went with the heavily recommended Smokehouse burger. The half-pounder was perfectly cooked to medium as requested, and was topped with cheddar, bacon and BBQ sauce on a fresh bun. Loved the BBQ sauce... for some reason it reminded me of Arby's sauce (remember that?). A bit vinegar-y and thin. Don't forget to dip your hand-cut fries! And the housemade potato chips are also pretty spectacular.
Our servers worked our table like a well-oiled machine and I wasn't left wanting for a thing (plenty of napkins, constant refills and check-ins). Next time I'll bring my pizza appetite! The best part? You can enjoy a great meal on the cheap without giving up quality.
Visited Tree Guys on the advice of the Chicago Yelp forum. Very cute place, looks smaller than it actually is.
I ordered the Tree Guys Favorite, 10 inch. In Chicago I noticed that I don't feel like a fat hog when leaving the pizza places where I ate. I appreciate that.
The crust is thin, but not crackery, like a certain chain restaurant. The sauce isn't too sweet, or too spicy. The sauce is really good. The cheese, there was plenty, and it had good flavor. The spinach was carefully placed, and wasn't droopy.
The service was AOK. I ordered iced tea, and it remained full. I thought the prices were reasonable, and I was pleased. What I really wanted was a rhinestone Tree Guy's Pizza shirt like the girls were wearing. Not available.
I gave this place 5 stars cause it's certainly a huge step up from the resort hotel I was staying at. I didn't order bread sticks, or anything other than pizza. I didn't have much time, and I was very pleased they got the pizza out to me in time to eat it and enjoy it.
The skateboard above the coat rack pretty  much summed up the coolness of this restaurant. I will eat there again when I return to Itasca. Being from Kansas City, I really appreciated this establishment.
Living in Chicago, we have a lot of choices when it comes to Pizza. In the burbs, it's a different story, GOOD pizza places are extremely hard to come by, unless you eat at a chain like Giordonos, or you stumble upon something good.
Tree Guys is that stumble upon place.
My inlaws eat here every Tuesday for their buy 1 get 1 free deal - that's right...buy one pizza - get another free - no coupon needed.
Although we don't go with them every week...we have eaten here quite a few times. Their service is attentive, cute little pizzeria, and a fun bar to grab a few drinks and play darts in the back.
Their pizza has some of the freshest ingredients that I have had on a pizza. The crust is crisp and the sauce is not overly sweet ...followed up by just enough cheese.
If you're in their neighborhood, try these Tree guys out - you just may be surprised on this little hidden jem.
So my wife and I have eaten here plenty and have always had good experiences. Â Tree Guys is primarily a pizza place, and while the pizza is plenty good, what really sets it apart for me is... everything else. Â
First of all, the burgers are probably the best around. Â Great juicy meat, always cooked just right, and a nice freshly baked bun. Â I'm personally a fan of the Smokehouse Burger that has finely shredded melted cheddar, bacon, and BBQ sauce. Â It's just amazing. Â Their side dishes are great too. Â Wonderful hand-cut fries that are always just the right texture and nearly perfect hand-cut potato chips are your choices and you can't go wrong with either. Â I've always had the pizza burger, which is pretty excellent and their other sandwiches, especially the chicken parmesan, are all great.
As for the pizza, it's not slouch itself. Â The thin crust is an all around good experience, top to bottom. Â The deep dish is probably the best kind they have, a solid A-/B+. Â Not my all time favorite, but near the top of my list. Â They also have a "thick crust" which is pretty good, but takes almost as long as the deep dish to cook and isn't different enough from the thin to make it worth the time. Â Either stick with the thin or if you're preparing to wait awhile get the deep. Â
So overall, this is one of my favorite local places. Â Dine in, carry out, it doesn't matter, you get a good meal here.
The stars are wrong; the ratings are mostly on target. Â Barely passable but convenient to the train. Â Trixie, you don't even THINK of going to or ordering take-out from a pizza place in the 'Burbs WITHOUT a coupon. Â BOGO's or Half-fies are common at most middle-of-the-road restaurants too.
Now, Great places and diners are a different story. Â But this is Tree Guys. Â Bland place, bland pizza with thick, floury crust. Â And barely-21 (and barely sober) on the weekends is the norm. Â It just happens to be "in the area" and if you can catch someone over 40 to tell you the story of BEN'S, it might be worth a couple beers. Â Skip the pizza.
By the way, about 4 miles up the road near Biesterfield and Arlington Heights Rds. (called Prospect in Itasca) is Coach's Corner.....the best place for wings in the area.
Tried this place twice when I was looking for the best pizza place in my old neighborhood. This was a several years back so bear that in mind. The crust was too thick and heavy for my taste, the main reason I didn't like the pizza. The sausage was decent but a bit bland, not enough spices. I suppose it is decent enough to order from here again but I found several places I liked better. You could do worse than this place.
Review Source:Since being the first to review Tree Guys (two updates ago), we've been back many times and also gotten carryout a number of times. Yes, we live quite close by, but there are a lot of restaurants nearby -- and this is one of our favorites.
It's hard to go wrong. It's a cute, homey place in a historic building in downtown Itasca, which is rather reminiscent of Mayberry. The staff is friendly and really on top of things and the menu is full of Italian favorites, pizza and comfort-food goodness.
Pizza ratings follow, but I have to say that their sandwiches and burgers are quite possibly the real star; some of the best burgers in the burbs and served with house-made chips or hand-cut fries.
Deep Dish (four stars):
Sauce: Chunky, zippy, not too sweet. Great flavor. 5 stars.
Cheese: Not oozing, but plentiful, with a great stretchy cheesy flavor. Yum. 4 1/2 stars.
Crust: Eh. Not amazing, needs some buttery-ness, but not bad either. 3 stars.
Thin Crust:
Bit crispy, plenty of cheese, decent crust. Overall, 4 stars. Thick crust is much the same, but takes a lot longer to cook and has a bready, chewy crust. I'd stick with the deep or thin.
At first sight, the pizza looks to be delicious. By first bite though, it's glaringly obvious that there is something missing. Flavor. The husband used to say that he never met a pizza that he didn't like. Until he had one here, and this comes from a man whose middle name should be Bland. I think if they just used some spices to flavor up their sauce a bit, the pizza has the potential to be decent. Until then, though, I would rate the pizza two stars at most. That said, the rest of their food that has been sampled is, like the rating system here says, A-OK.
The combo appetizer plate combines poppers, onion rings, fried mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, and fried zucchini  and comes with 3 dipping sauces. Munch sparingly or you could find yourself close to being full by the time the dinner comes out. This is a great starter!
My friend says the wings are very tasty. I don't eat wings, but I believe her. She's a wings whore, after all, and knows good wings. The "Tree Guys Slammer" trio of mini-cheeseburgers are cute, but almost all bun, so I suggest you pass on them. Rib eye steak sandwich was a tad too fatty for my liking, but once I cut all the gristle away, it was tender and cooked exactly to my liking. Ribs are what you would expect to find in a suburban pizza place. In other words, don't come here and order ribs if you are a ribs whore.
Fried dough for dessert? The hell you say!
I stopped in here with a friend upon the recommendation of my hairdresser. Â Good suggestion, Juan! Â We came in for a late lunch and were still warmly received. Â The place is small but cozy. Â It's conveniently located across from the Metra station in Itasca. Â Our luck couldn't have been better since they were running a special that day--buy one pizza get one free! Â What? Â I need to eat in the suburbs more often. Â I never find deals like that in the city. Â The pizza was quite good. Â The crust was crispy, the cheese gooey, and the veggies fresh. Â If you're in the neighborhood don't miss having a meal here. Â I would love to go back next time I'm out this way to try something else on the menu.
