Trevi is the best and most consistently delicious restaurant on the Cape. I've tried most of their menu and have never had a poorly cooked or presented dish. Their menu is constantly changing with the seasons to provide new dishes for return customers. The chicken under a brick is very good, and ALL their steaks are the best quality beef I've ever eaten. The seasoning on them is perfect, I've never had a bland bite. I'd never had an avocado before this place and now I get an avocado salad there once a week! Crushed potatoes, mac and cheese, scallops, and meat and cheese plates are all very filling and delicious.
I don't drink really, but they have a very wide selection of wines by the glass, probably around 30 or more if that interests you. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly, and the food always comes out in record timing, even on busy nights.
When it's time to go, and you would normally pass on dessert because you're so full, just say yes and get the Chocolate Torte with fruit. I never get desserts at restaurants but this thing is out of this world. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high quality meal out on the Cape.
I'd give 5 stars if the service was better, my hubby and I came here after doing some shopping. I got the impression we were putting them out or something by asking for a table for two. The waiter was polite but none of the staff seemed all that happy to be there and that does rub off on the customers.
The Mac n' cheese and 4 layer chocolate torte were delicious. I can tell they have a great chef because the taste of the food and its presentation was damn near perfect.
I have eaten here tons of times. The food is good and the atmosphere is nice. However the service just gets worse and worse. While the food is good if they don't start treating their customers better they will never survive!!
Ate there the other night with some friends. Our waitress was awful!!!!! She never smiled, forgot to put in our appetizer order and we had to ask her for everything! When the manager asked us how it was and we told her she just didn't care.
Amongs those of us who live in Mashpee Trevi's reputation has gone way down over the past year. The owners are rude and now that seems to have trickled down to the managers and wait staff. A smile, a I'm sorry, or a Do you need anything would go a long way in this place.
Such a shame as the food is tasty....
I came here with my whole family- a party of 8- and they let our dog join us for dinner also (we ate outside). They had small plates and regular sized entrees, and all were really delicious. The wine was good also. We were all pleased with the relaxing outdoor space and the good service.
Review Source:As a previous big fan of Trevi, I realize that your reputation is only as good as your last meal. So when my 17 year old daughter took me out to what was one my favorite restaurants in Mashpee for Father's day, I was  looking forward to a good meal. Instead, what I found was that the salmon that they served was fully raw and not cooked in the middle. They took my plate back to the chef and it came back 10 minutes later with about half of the food that was on the plate when it was returned. Besides that, the salmon dish with an asian type accompaniment was horrible. They did not go together at all. This was not the first time that I have had a bad entree at Trevi. As disappointing as it was for me and my daughter to have our special moment ruined, it was even more disappointing that not one person in the restaurant that I dine in weekly (no more) came up to us and apologized and/or offered to make their mistake right. This kind of insensitive, and unprofessional behavior usually starts at the top. Any owner or manager worth his salt in the restaurant business would take care of his loyal year round customers, rather than slight them, like he did to us. I would urge you to avoid Trevi. There are much better places nearby, that will treat you like someone who is paying to eat out deserves to be treated.
Review Source:This is one of our favorite spots - it's consistantly good. Nice atmosphere (especially in the summer when you can sit outside), nice wine selection, great tapas, very good service! The chicken avacado sandwich is my favorite with the orzo salad! Yum. Well worth the trip for lunch or Dinner.
Review Source:I have visited Trevi several times, and my parents are part-time residents in Mashpee, who have been throughout the off season. Â However, I have never met a more unprofessional restaurant owner. Â Despite it being the hostess making a mistake on the timing/seating of our reservation, the owner was accusatory, blamed me for the mistake and offered no consolation. Â Last time I checked this was a service industry, and I was personally offended by the lack of regard for customer service. Â If you are looking for good italian food and great service, go to Sienna in Mashpee Commons.
Review Source:I tried Trevi last night the food was delicious, but I only gave it a 4 because the service was super slow and the waitress was kind of "blah." First the bread came out and was served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, yum. Then I got the Goat cheese salad and that was extraordinary! I loved it. For my main dish I got the pork carnitas, I thought they were okay, my husband enjoyed them more than I did. Then I ordered the cheese and meat platter, I got the Parm cheese, Procuitto, and chorizo, it was served with bread and olives and was VERY good. I finished my meal with a lovely espresso. My father got the Mac and cheese and loved it, my mother got the striper, I don't eat fish so I can't say firsthand but, I know she enjoyed it very much. My husband thought the garlicy chicken was mediocre, he loved the shrimp and grilled artichokes (which he thinks was the best part.)
Review Source:Quite an unexpected treat to find such solid tapas in a pedestrian shopping mall on the Cape!
Generally the tapas were quite good. I particularly loved their charcuterie. Some of the vegetable dishes were a bit uninspired compared to their more delicious meaty brethren, but I'll definitely be looking forward to coming back.
Pros: Very good wine, cheese bar -- excellent wine list, reasonable prices, and tasty cheeses. There aren't many wine and cheese places in Boston, so this was a treat to find.
Cons: The lighting is way too bright for a wine bar, it almost kept us from going inside. I'm glad we went anyway, but we had doubts because of the bright/chain-like lighting. The service was meh - our server ignored us for long stretches and wasn't too helpful in answering our questions.
But I'd still give it four stars b/c I think the cons are easy fixes, probably just because they're so new.
We seemed to arrive at the perfect time, 5pm. The restaurant was slow and the bar- even slower. We cozied up at the end of the bar and instantly liked the atmosphere. We thought of sitting  outside (which has heat lamps this time of year) but wanted the full experience inside. The restaurant itself is on the small size (especially once it's not patio weather anymore) but the ambience and lighting make the place feel much bigger. Our bartender, who also does all of the wine and liquor buying, was timid but knowledgable. We started with cocktails, which were both fantastic. We were into the 'pick 3 meats' pick 3 cheeses' so we indulged. The bartender, Rob (again, extremely timid) helped us navigate through the spanish and italian names for the cured meats and exotic cheeses. The cutting boards arrived and it was a gorgeous display. We added the marcona almonds (on the tapas menu) and enjoyed every morsel. I highly recommend starting with something like this for groups or if you're not ready to have a full entree. My boyfriend ordered a delicious bottle of wine that went perfectly with the smoked chorizo! yum! Next course, my boyfriend and I split the Catalan Shrimp in a garlic and red chili sauce and the Lamb Lollipops. Both were cooked perfectly and delcious with our wine. A woman seated near us ordered the Mac and Cheese and we wished we had saved more room. It came highly recommended for 'next time'. This would be a great spot for a summer lunch or dinner on the patio. The food was suberb. The only thing lacking was our bartenders personality. He needs to come out of his shell a little more because he clearly knows the wine, the food and the restaurant well. We will absolutely be back.
Review Source:The vino flows freely at Trevi Cafe & Wine Bar. I stopped in here after a late afternoon of shopping in Mashpee Commons and treated my friend and I to a half bottle of classic chianti. Though a bit pricey, the quality of wine is top notch. Not to mention the great environment you get to enjoy your wine in. The intimate lighting and european inspired decor makes every sip richer as you feel like you are truly in an Italian cafe. Sitting outside is also an option and will provide you with a nice view of a bubbling fountain. The sounds of the Trevi, perhaps?
Review Source:Came back last month had the braised beef - so rich -wonderful juices in an reduced stew sauce, w carrots and potatoes so yummy.
I forgot about the wine special too - maybe this is new? Â Good wine selection that seems to change. Â Nice crowd as well maybe a laid back version of folks at the Naked Oyster? Â Little to no pretention but can be dressy if you want. Â The witstaff is professional and knowledgable - but odd, I can't put my finger on it.
Clean consistent restauraunt. Mutlo Bene!
Disclaimer: My wife and I are friends with the daughter of the owners. Â With that out of the way, let me say that we actually wound up here for dinner one night not sure if it was their place or not. Â After eating there, we seriously hoped it WAS, since we had such a great meal!! Â It has been a while, so I don't remember exactly what we had, but I do remember we had some great ravioli and mac & cheese. Â
Recently went back for a private event and the food was excellent again. Â It deserves all the great ratings it receives on here.
The food here was excellent, and priced as such. Â I ordered the seared chicken on a brick, which was excellent and very reminiscent of thanksgiving, with a great stuffing to accompany the chicken. Chicken skin for the most part was crisp with just the right amount of salt. Â Could have been a touch jucier for the chicken, but I wasn't complaining. Â The desert was also awesome.
The service was nice and the waiter was good, but the place is quite tiny. Â It didn't help that we had no idea they were having a wine tasting dinner that night, which shut off half off the restaurant, allowing four tables that seat two people a piece...the place was packed by the time we left.
Definitely a nice place to go.
Came here Saturday after the 4th for lunch. The place was very busy so we sat at the bar, where the bartenders were running around like crazy. Our guy still managed to be pretty attentive although at the end the cappuccino took a while, so it was on the house, which was nice.
The food was delicious! I had a ham and cheese panini with a chickpea salad. Not sure what the person I was with got as it was consumed in .5 seconds.
I would definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again.
Yum! Â I've been to Trevi twice since October and enjoyed it thoroughly both times. Â In October I went with some delish tapas and other snacks - portuguese mussels just like mom made them, if my mother was a portuguese chef (she isn't, she's a 3rd generation irish-american 3rd grade teacher), amazingly cheesy and flavorful mac & cheese, tasty wine. Â The second time, in February, I had the tastiest artichoke I could imagine, a super tasty panini and a taste of my companion's slightly tough but otherwise good steak. Â Despite the somewhat disappointing red meat, I still give 5 stars for otherwise flawless feasts and great ambience. Â Something nice and little and tasty for the cape, even in winter.
Review Source:I am a MAJOR foodie from Miami and I have only lived on Cape for a few months now, but lets just say I'm not entirely thrilled with the culinary scene. However, I have found a few special spots that help remind me of some of the great food I have eaten in my life. Trevi is one of these special spots on the Cape. Ironically, or not for that matter, Trevi is owned by the same man who owns the Chapaquoit Grill another one of my special spots. I was so excited to see a Tapas restaurant open up on Cape and after eating there I was SOOO pleased. From the amazingly fresh Parma Ham with quince jelly to the delicious variety of cheese on the cheese plate to the FANTASTIC gnocchi in a chive cream sauce with crispy pancetta. (My boyfriend and my favorite tapas dish there) They melted on my tongue! We had the most delicious grilled lamb lollipops with a creamy mustard sauce and even the simple mushrooms with a sherry sauce were absolutely fantastic. Even my glass of Sauvignon Blanc was perfect and reasonably priced. My one negative - the Cod croquette was a little bland. I know we over ordered (we couldn't help ourselves) so it did end up being a pretty pricey meal, but it was DELICIOUS! I can't wait to go back!
Review Source:We had been wanting to try Trevi for quite a while. Â We still haven't been for the tapas, but lunch was excellent. Â I had mussels prepared Portuguese style with a tomato garlic sausage broth. There was rustic bread for dipping as well. Â My plate was spotless by the end of the meal.
Others at the table had 1: sirloin bleu cheese and horseradish sandwich and 2: grilled eggplant pannini. Both were served with hearty fries seasoned with rosemary. They raved about both of the sandwiches.
Our server was sweet and helpful. Â There was a nice wine list, and the decor was simple and attractive. Â I can't wait to return for some tapas, to include scallops, lamb lollipops, cheeses and asparagus.
Went here the other day in a whim and it was wonderful. Â My husaband ordered a sandwich and I got a goat cheese salad, I was loving every bite of both meals. Â The waitress was super nice and she gave me a sample of the Orzo salad for b/c everything was so good, I wanted to try it. Â Wish I didn't live 30+ minutes away from there. Â Will definitely be back there.
Review Source:Last night Mike and I intruded on mis padres with a surprise home visit and they took us here. Yumyumyum. Way better than any of the other offerings in the area--trust me, I know, I've even worked at a few of them back in my college years (as in two years ago). Not a lot of vegetarian options, but what's there is fantastic. The quality of everything is superb, and I highly recommend the sweet potato, the asparagus, the hamalou crostini, and the arugula salad with goat cheese. We split a lot of plates and my companions seemed to also enjoy the shared meat dishes, which included some scallops and a skirt steak thing. The service was great. The decor is simple and rustic and I loved it. The owner is there all the time, in a much more visible way than in many restaurants on Cape Cod. I kind of know him through the restaurant circuit, although he didn't remember me (nor did I introduce myself), but I know that he knows his stuff. Overall, the quality, the presentation, the taste, the atmosphere--all was superb. I would definitely go back again.
Review Source:What a surprise. When you finish up your 'to do' list of shops in Mashpee Commons, have a bite or 2 or 5 at Cafe Trevi. Nicely decorated- simple- somewhat rustic...overall? flawless. The most well preserved and versatile wine list I've seen in a while. A nice respite from the shops and quaint Cape vibe of Mashpee Commons. Â The owner is on the premises which adds a whole lot of heart (a rarity these days). There is outdoor seating and a blazing fountain (hence the Trevia reference). It's not Italy but the Mediterranean cuisine is perfecto. Great service, presentation &class. Frank our bartender was a gem of a gent. Our food was on point. Salad selections w/ great crumbled cheeses. Â Soup. Panini. Tapas offerings: 'photograph quality' grilled shrimp, asparagus, sweet potato, lamb lollipops, scallops, skirt steak... there's even a dinner of mac and cheese! Â A prosciutto and cheese plate that taught me the true meaning of envy! Coffee, espresso, cappuccino. Ricotta cheesecake, Â icebox cake and the biscotti? You have to have the chocolate biscotti with your coffee, its a must. An exemplary experience nestled inside a charming cape side shopping/living fortress. Hail to the chef!
