This place is awful. Â Actually to call it awful would be an improvement. Â
Husband was looking for a place to watch football and outside the sign advertised "watch NFL here". Â I went in to find him and to use the bathroom. Â It was disgusting and didn't have any soap to at least disinfect afterwards. Â I joined him in the basement. Â The floor was sticky and so were the tables. Â But this is not why this place deserves less than one star. Â
The waitress came to say they were shutting down the basement and moving everyone upstairs. Â Husband asked if they would show his game and she said yes. Â To be polite, he ordered another drink. Â We walked upstairs and asked the fellow at the bar if he could change the channel. Â He said no (there were like 8 people in the bar and 4 of them were fans of same team as husbands). Â He said no, I want to watch my teams. Â Husband said, waitress said you'd change the channel, I would have appreciated it if she had told me in advance before i ordered a drink. Â
Bartender said, don't tell me how to run my business. Â Who the f**k are you telling me how to run my business. Â I asked the bartender for his name he said my name is a***hole you b**tch. Â I am not making this up. Â I asked the waitress who was the owner and she said he was. Â Then he called husband a f**got. Â
I wrote this hoping to discourage other people from wasting their time and money here and give their business to someone else who deserves/appreciate it. Â But judging from the look of the place, there wasn't much business to lose. Unbelieveable. Â Never been treated this way before by anyone let alone a business owner.
Husband adds:
You never NEVER advertise having NFL Sunday ticket, with 8 TVs in the house and then halfway through the final day of regular season football, turn 6 of the 8 TVs off halfway through the 3rd quarter. With playoffs spots and rushing records (Adrien Peterson, Vikings) on the line you SHUT DOWN HALF THE BAR. Â And then you have the gaul to unleash a profanity laden tirade at your customers when they protest. Â Unforgivable. Â Unforgivable. Minus 3 stars."
This place is pretty awful. If you want to go to a basement dive, please head across the street to the Matador. Service was poor. First they played a terrible killers concert dvd, then two guys started making awful electronic music that made me feel like I was in a video game gone bad.
Review Source:I wasn't looking for a place like this when I found it, but I liked it once I did. The place upstairs had some old people playing old people music, and they told me at the door I could pay a cover to stay upstairs or go downstairs. Downstairs was a good choice. The bartenders were cool and the drinks were reasonable. As the night went on it started to fill up and people got out on the dance floor. You have to go upstairs to pee, and use the ATM, and it's cash only, but it seems to draw a better crowd.
Review Source:The Underground is located beneath Evangelos and is a great bar...the ceiling is low, which has thousands of signatures from people all over the world who have visited on it. The bands that come in and out of this place are definitely worth seeing! Just this past week they had one of my new favorite bands, Ayurveda, come through. It was awesome! The crowd can be a little rough, but Chris Q, owner, takes care of situations before they get bad. Grain of salt.
Overall, one of my favorite hangouts when I'm not working!
