Pretty decent little place, with one of the best beer selections in Knoxville. Â Basic but cheap and tasty bar food, and a simple kind of British hole in the wall feel. Â They usually have a rather off-the-wall draft selection, with a fair number of brews from little-known North Carolina breweries who happen to make some pretty great stuff. Â They also have maybe 80-100 different bottle offerings, making their list rival some more storied places like Flying Saucer. Â I can't recall though if they've gotten the requisite liquor license to be able to carry high-alcohol brews. Â
The staff has been the same for years. Â I'd say a couple of them have been there over a decade. Â Never incredibly friendly, but efficient, professional, and perfectly decent at what they do. Â
It's a nice, dark, relaxing place to hang with your friends and get some good beers and a snack on days when you really don't care what you look like and have no one to impress. Â Good, wholesome basic fun.
