I went there tonight for the first time. The country band was awesome! I had a great time dancing and meeting a few friendly people. Nice mixed crowd from 21 to experienced. The dance floor is a little small with a couple of poles you need to keep an eye on, they like to jump out at ya. LoL Over all A+ for having a great time for someone never being there before.

    Thank you

Great pub fare, good menu and great service!

Chef Jeff runs a good kitchen, puts out good, fresh food in a straight-forward approach. Highlights: wings, onion rings, burgers, sweet potato fries, chicken sandwiches and tacos.

My wife & I love the Jalepeno Burger, the Bourbon Street Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Salad...always brought to our table, fresh, hot and prepared the way we ordered it. Great place, off the beaten path to escape and enjoy a good meal and great people watching!

Despite the years of changing owners and renovations, the VC finally seems to be doing something right.  I come here for Taco Tuesdays pretty regularly.  3 beef street tacos for $5.  They're filling, tasty, and the food comes pretty quick.  I've tried a couple of their other food items and have always been impressed.

As far as a bar, it's your typical dive bar.  Drinks are cheap, and very strong.  Atmosphere is what you would expect.  They put on a number of events throughout the week with live bands on Fridays, Saturdays, and I think most Sundays.  There's not much else going on in Penryn, so really, if you're looking to go to a bar in the area this is your only chance.  That aside, it's a decent place to spend an evening or an afternoon.

The mushroom/ swiss is deeeeelish!!  This place is A+ all the way around!

The staff is amazing and polite.  The chef even brings your plate to the table.  When we asked to split our burgers in two so we can share, NO PROBLEM!  They even bring out the spilt burger on two plates with the fries spilt on each plate.  We have been to other restauarants in Folsom where they actually give us a dirty look when we have asked to do this AND they charged us extra!  What??

This little hole in the wall is WAY MORE than meets the eye, so go on in, give it a try!!

We love Valencia Club and are sure you will too!  This has been are new favorite place for a bomb burger!

Fun place for breakfast.  We ate at the bar and had steak and eggs and chicken fried steak with bloody Mary's.  Service was friendly and quick, restaurant was VERY clean, and the ambiance was "James Dean - Rebel Without a Cause."  Only complaint was that the scrambled eggs we ordered were actually hard boiled eggs chopped up!  No biggie, but . . .

By the way, 3-Stars is as high as I give for a breakfast.

Try it, you'll like it - and it is a nice change.

Well, you know what they say... When in Penryn, do as the Penrynians do!

I've stopped in a few times while out wandering the roads on my bike, or playing around out at Griffith Quarry. There isnt much else out in this neck of the woods, so its a pretty popular spot with the locals!

Decent prices for decent drinks, usually a few bike's out front! The times I've been in, there's been a jukebox playing, but it looks like they have karaoke and live music on some nights... Not a bad spot to stop off if your in the neighborhood!

Could have been 4 stars, except they were training a new cook and our orders got messed up.

I won't go into details, since the new owners are making sincere efforts to improve their kitchen--- and I'm betting next time will be a four star experience.

FYI -- there are gift certificates available online, they are way cheap -- making your breakfast or lunch 70% off the menu price.

This place reopened about a year ago. Has really busy nights and then slow nights. Food it ok but for bar food it's 5 star. Breakfast is pretty good. Really random people go here. 80 yr old lady, couple of bikers, few guys with affliction shirts, Early 20's hot chicks and lots of middle aged hot chicks. I've seen a daughter, mom, grandma combo here befor. Pool tables and horse shoes. Pretty cool place.

What else can I say but "thank you"?!

I decided to have my birthday here last weekend and the owners and staff went above and beyond.

I was told there would be a motorcycle show out back but that they could still accommodate and accommodate they did! When I arrived I found the back decorated by them with signs wishing me a happy birthday, balloons, streamers, snacks, drink specials and a more than accommodating staff! It was a great experience and my guests really appreciated it as well as I. you made my day even more special! THANK YOU!!!

To anyone thinking about coming here or holding an even here, DO!

This is a Country Western Honky Tonk Bar and is "one of a kind".  It has reopened and has a variety of Country Bands on Saturday nights.  Bands range from Buck Ford, Deuces Wild, Courtney Lynn, Erin McKinney, Amanda Gray and many more.  This Bar is an Icon and will not change  with respect to the atmosphere, so don't expect it to.  Those who enjoy this Bar, love it for those reasons.....

Dive bar!!!! Smells bad and is gross, local and sleezy. Too bad because the Valencia Club is a historical landmark and has some real future restaurant potential for someone with vision, money and passion.

Actually, I like this bar. ( I don't know anything about the restaurant part, never eaten anything from here since it's changed cooks/managers/owners, whatever.  The restaurant is managed or run seperately  from the bar) The bar is a redneck, country hole-in-the-wall that offers two, yes that's right, two bars with two completely different music venues. Both are roomy and offer GREAT mixed drinks, beer, whathaveyou....IF they have the liqueur in stock. Quite possibly the best bartender on earth in the back bar, if your lucky enough to catch him when he's working.

The front bar is what you'd expect by looking at the outside. Local country or southern rock type band, tons of cowboy hats, heavily flowing Jack Daniels and pretty (as in attractive) well-aged women.
The back bar is another story, Rastafarian hip-hop dj from NYC with great equipment and a much younger crowd. It feels like a super ghetto dance club...Only safer. It's even missing a wall, which isn't a bad thing cause it feels like your outside.  For non-smokers like myself, this is a nice breath of fresh air.....Literally.

This place is alright. Hopefully you hit it on a busy night , bring lots of friends or plan on drinking a LOT or else it could get pretty boring. Don't go expecting much and you should have a good time!

If you're going for the quality of the drinks, you will not be disappointed. This is just a good 'ol local bar. Many bikers enjoy the day-time atmosphere, and just about anyone can find enjoyment in the night-life.

Many live bands preform in the front bar on the weekends, as well as various DJ's in the back bar. It ranges from country, classic rock, hip-hop and almost everything in between. Both bars are fully stocked with pretty much any liquor and/or beer you want. The dance floors are almost always packed. As with any business, it has its ups and downs, but again, the bartenders are top notch.

The kitchen is between management, and although it is never gourmet food, it's good eats when you're hungry and drinking!

I have been a here a few times in the last two years. This VC is almost a little surreal. From the road it looks like the place where low budget horror movies begin. It is a dive bar in every way except the cost of drinks. In the front you have the rednecks and the cowboys line dancing to the cover band's renditions of the country hits of the 1990's. I would never have been to this side except the bathroom is over here. The back of the bar is an amalgam of someone's house party and a rehearsal dinner for Placer County high school reunions. They don't have a DJ in the back, but someone is kind enough to hook up their iPod and treat the crowd to an eclectic playlist. I didn't know you could dance to Closer (Nine Inch Nails), but I saw a woman in her late thirties prove otherwise. They have a good selection of beers and, if you are so inclined, feel free to light up a cigarette. I think the back of the VC gets around California's no-smoking laws because it isn't a "bar" in the legal sense of the word. It may have a ceiling and a window where they serve alcohol, but it only has two (not four) walls, so it is not entirely enclosed and not subject to the no smoking ordinance. Come on Saturday after 11:00 if you want to experience something vastly different from downtown Sacto.

So my buddies were ex bouncers here so that's how I ended up here Thursday a couple weeks ago. It was quiet...maybe 10ppl in the place, mostly older but all very nice and red necky, definitely good genuine people. I heard Fri and Sat's more young ppl come in and hang out in the back part. There was a 1$ pool table and a karaoke machine. Its cool, I like it. The bartender was cool.

Well, I must say, I was pleasantly surprised to find such good food there.  Yes, it would be considered a dive bar but for those of us who like dive bars, it's great.  I have never been there on a busy night so I can't comment too much as to the crowd.  However, the crowd I saw was anything from college students and bikers to cowboys and line dancers.  They do have Karaoke on a Thurs. night and, being the Karaoke Nut that I am, I loved the set up.  They actually have a great stage with great lighting so you really can get into the music. Though I must comment that there weren't very many people there but hey, that's not a bad thing for those that want to sing.  More songs for us.  Also, the gentleman that runs the show is really nice and knows his stuff. There is one pool table tucked away which is nice so you don't have people bumping into you.  It is one of those stops my friends and I go to not frequently but every so often.  I would recommend it if you want just a good ole' dive bar with good food.

Actually, I loathe this place; however, I typically don't like dive bars - except for areas with cooler people than Penryn.

Gets five stars for allowing my drunk cousin to attempt riding a horse inside the bar ...

On my way home from the Bay Area, my friend Colin called me and asked me to stop by Valencia Club. I've driven by this place before but I had never gone inside.I drive up and i can't find a place to park, the lot in front of the club as well as the spots across the street are all taken. After finding a spot, I can hear the sound of rap music. I walk in, the place is packed, there are pool tables and an enclosed patio/dance floor where everyone is dancing. The crowd is young, half of the girls looked like they were younger than 21. I walk to the other side of the club and the dance floor is packed with line dancing adults with a live country band playing radio hits. This place was SO random, but only in Penryn can you find country music on one side and hip hop on the other, and everyone was getting along great.I docked one star due to the fact that the pseudo DJ was WHACK, but what can you expect at an establishment like this in Penryn. Next time I'm bringing friends.
