This road side bar & restaurant opened about 8 weeks ago. We stopped on a Friday evening on our way further up the Shore. Service was fast & friendly. We sat at the bar.
We shared the Bacon Blu Burger which comes with fries and a salad but since my hubby wanted a cup of soup, the bartender nixed the fries and didn't charge us for the soup which was just fine with us. The bartender also did not charge us a plating fee for sharing the burger by bringing us 2 plates & a steak knife.
We enjoyed our food and our beer. Chatted with co-owner, Mark Pearson (sp?) who had planned to open this bar outside Las Vegas, but family responsibilities brought him back to Two Harbors and those of us who enjoy the North Shore are the lucky recipients of his endeavor. The other co-owner is a former Viking -- whose name I cannot remember! (I'm not a big sports fan.)
The bar has Vikings team memorabilia for sale, all of which is tastefully displayed. The name of the restaurant is also a nod to the Norsemen legends.
Another bartender was blending a peach margarita and was using a pure peach nectar. I commented that it looked wonderful and smelled even better. Much to my delight, she poured a generous taste of it for me after serving the person who ordered it. The flavor was incredible. She also was very generous in her alcohol pours when mixing this concoction.
We will stop back. It's a fun atmosphere and for being a sports bar, the ambiance was delightful and not too noisy at the time we were there.
