I realize that I only gave Vin Dolce two stars.  That is NOT because I had a bad experience there or anything, I was just very underwhelmed.  I think I set my expectations too high.

Our server was nice, our food was good and the wine was good.  That being said - I've had better service, I've had better food and I've had good wine elsewhere and I've had it for about half the price.  I don't mind spending money on a good meal, but I want to spend it on extraordinary food that I couldn't make at home.  I did not have that experience at Vin Dolce.

We started with the cheese plate - which was huge.  I would not order that as a small appetizer for just two people.  The cheese plate was good.  It had three cheeses, mixed nuts, pitted olives, fig spread and toasted baguette.  The cheeses were very ordinary.  I felt like I could have grabbed them in the Kraft aisle at the grocery store.  There was nothing novel about them.  It was a bleu, a sharp cheddar and what I think was a gruyere.  It was good, it just wasn't extraordinary.

Next we ordered our meal.  My husband had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and asparagus.  He enjoyed his meal and had no complaints, however, I also think we could have made a comparable meal at home.  I ordered the tilapia with rice pilaf and zucchini.  This too, was ordinary.  My tilapia was over seasoned and too spicy for my taste.  The zucchini was a bit overdone and there were only three slices.  The rice was good.  I realize that neither my Husband nor I ordered a particularly original dish, but that was in part because the menu was fairly limited.

Overall, this was a good restaurant and if it cost about 1/3 of the price, I think my review would be better, but for they price point that they are at, I didn't find it worth it.

One of my favorite places to go when I visit family in Oklahoma. Service is good, wine list is awesome and they serve a fabulous cheese plate.

I went with my husband and in-laws on a Wednesday night. We went for some wine after having dinner somewhere else. My husband and father-in-law ordered the full glass and my mother-in-law ordered a half glass. When the wines came out, the servings were all the same size. I don't order wine at restaurants so I didn't know if the full glass meant they got a "refill" or what, considering the serving size that came out was small. We didn't say anything to our server, so we checked the bill and it looked like we were charged for either 3 full glasses or 3 half glasses. If that was a full glass portion I wouldn't want to see the half!

The restaurant had 3 other tables occupied, and the server gave us plenty of space, so by the time we were done we just wanted to pay and leave rather than bring up our concerns. Definitely more of a restaurant than a wine bar atmosphere, but a nice looking space overall.
