My husband, father and I came here for dinner the Wed after Christmas. We were promptly greeted and sat by the bartender. Besides a few people at the bar, we were the only table. We ordered a couple glasses of wine, 2 apps and a pizza. We ordered the food within 10-15 minutes of being seated but we didn't get the pizza for almost an hour. I was so irritated and I know the bartender felt really bad. It was ridiculous, though. The apps were pretty good and were the fried avocado and cheese platter. The pizza was a white pizza that we added meat too. The pizza was fantastically good and made me feel slightly less mad that it took so long. I might go back for the pizza but that's about it.
Review Source:This place was okay but not sure if I would return. Â The bar area is cool and I was psyched to sit down and enjoy our first drink of the weekend. Â Our server wasn't very friendly and like someone else mentioned in their review, she was in and out smoking cigarettes at the bar next door. Â I myself have lived in a small touristy town so I understand how townies sometimes feel about tourists, but we thought she either had an attitude or she was super stoned. Â The pizza we had was okay, but wouldn't return there for the food. Â We probably would return if we received more friendly customer service. Â And we were very friendly, didn't complain or act rude, so there was no reason for the lackadaisical service.
Review Source:It is sad to be writing a negative review for this place. The furniture in this place is tacky and outdated. Impressive wine rack, but it looks wobbly like it might fall over. The HUGE mirror behind the bar is weird, because this is wine bar, not cowboy saloon. The pizza was DELICIOUS. That is the only thing that give it 2 stars not 1. The pizza was great, wonderful crust. Unfortunately, we got the bruscetta for an appetizer and it was totally burned on the bottom. Also, while he was nice- our waiter was chatting with friends at the bar, and even popped outside to have a smoke with one of them. Â I found that extremely unprofessional with customers in the restaurant.
Review Source:While staying across the street at the Cottonwood Hotel, we were recommended to try the Vineyard Bistro and we were not disappointed to say the least. Â Beyond the amazing food (I highly recommend their arugala, apple and gouda pizza) the people working behind the bar are spectacular!
My wife and I went back twice during our stay in Cottonwood and both times we were served by Beverly, who was so friendly and made sure that we felt like we one of the regulars that anchored the ends of the bar. Â Beverly provided knowledgeable insight into the craft beers on tap and the wines the Vineyard Bistro serves...which is always a nice treat.
I would highly recommend the Vineyard Bistro to anybody who is looking for a casual place to eat and relax. Â Take some time to sit and talk with the bartenders and the regulars, 'cause you'll learn so much about the town!
Another great place to go in downtown Cottonwood! Â There are many great places in the area (Nics, Tavern Grille, Riot, etc.), but this is one to add to the list. They have probably one of the best wine lists, and a decent craft beer selection on tap. Â The pizzas they make here are excellent! Â I think of them as "craft" pizzas. Â
Happy hour prices are good too for drinks.
As others have mentioned the bar is something to see, along with the copper ceiling.
Cool wine bar in Old town Cottonwood. The long bar is awesome and the entire place is decked out in dark wood. They have great selection of wine.......I had an Argentine Malbec that kicked ass. Their kitchen was closed by the time we got there (all fine since we'd just had steak and lobster a few doors down at Nic's) but I can't wait to go back and see what the kitchen serves up. The menu has some tasty sounding pizza, sandwiches and tapas.
In addition to wine, they have liquor and a good selection of craft beers on tap. They also have local musicians playing a few times a week. And they're open late (for Cottonwood unless you're counting Chaparral) so come in and get your buzz on, day or night.
Love this place! Went on a recent wine tasting tour with some friends and the people from Alcantara Vineyards recommended The Vineyard for lunch. Was not disappointed one bit!
The lunch menu featured pizzas, tapas and bruschettas plus local wines (of course). I went with the four cheese artichoke bruschetta which came out warm, scrumptious and pleasing to the palate. Added with a glass of Alcantara Sangiovese, left with one satisfied tummy! Â Looking forward to returning again!
This may be the least helpful review anyone could ever post. We were coming off a wine-tasting trip through Cornville before coming over here, so I was somewhat under the influence. I was impressed by the atmosphere, particularly the bar back. We had a couple of 10" pizzas, which were pretty good. Didn't try any drinks, because I'd already been down that road.
Review Source:I owe the owners of this place an apology. In my first review I mentioned that I got heartburn for 24 hours. I later discovered that was from some anti-biotic I was taking... My bad!
As I said in my first review, this place is very clean, the staff is working very hard to accommodate and I think that once they work out some bugs in the new menu this will be a fabulous venue for dining in Old Town. But please throw out the cumin! Most of us Zonies can't stand the taste of of Texas especially with lime and cilantro.
Love this place! Came in for a glass of wine and ended up staying for three. Great old building in the heart of downtown Cottonwood. Â A fun place for exploring and wine tasting. Â I have been here twice now and have has two great experiences, they also say they are now serving food. I haven't been here on the weekend but I saw on their Facebook that they have live music on the weekends, which I think is the perfect addition to such a fun historic stop. Â Make sure you stop in if you are wine tasting in the area, they are the only place where you can taste Granite Creek (my new FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
Review Source:My husband and I stumbled upon this bar in Old Town Cottonwood. Â It is absolutely beautiful! Pressed copper ceiling and long wooden bar... But what made it was the service, we were instantly put at ease. What was supposed to be a "quick" drink, turned into a two hour stay! Then we were back two more times. They are going to add a pizza & tapas menu any day now.
Can't wait to go back and eat.
