  This review is based on 2 visits to Wayside Pub:
  Atmosphere: A+ The pub/restaurant is authentically and tastefully decorated, with a very comfortable and welcoming feel, friendly staff, attentive and fast service, excellent bartenders, delicious mixed drinks (for me) and many varieties of beers on tap (for hubby). I really liked the chocolate martini and the pear cider. The second time we visited, they had live folk music, which was very nice!
  
  Food: A+ The tomato basil soup was creamy and absolutely yummy. Guiness burger was grilled just right and perfectly prepared. Scotch eggs (hard boiled eggs wrapped in ground sausage, breaded, and deep fried until brown, served with sauce) were surprisingly  satisfying and flavorful. The Wayside Chef salad with smoked salmon was very large and a perfect balance of greens, smoked salmon, tomatoes, cucumber, red onions, and delicate dressing. It made me feel so healthy that I allowed myself another drink to balance out all the healthiness. Chips (french fries) were crispy on the outside, soft and hot and the inside, and very nicely seasoned. My lowest rating, if you really need to hear a complaint, is the fish and chips (B+), because the breading was a tad too "bready". Everything else we tried was delicious, straight A+.

  A new pub and maybe the only pub in the Lake Jackson area.  This place was packed on Thursday night.  They have a pretty decent beer collection, a rarity in this area, both on draft and in bottles.
  
  The food is typical English pub food with an American twist.  I had the English style nachos, amazing, which were described accurately as a Shepard pie on tortilla chips.  The table next to us got chicken wings and while I didn't try them they looked great!
  
  The place is relatively new and while I sat at the bar the bartenders were mixing new drinks for the menu.  The service was a little slow but I think as time goes by this will be a great hang out place after work for the area.
