Loved this place at first when it wasn't crowded. Turned into a teenage hangout, no air circulation like other hookah bars I've been too. Couches are leather so you can imagine how hot it gets when it's packed and only one door...All in all I stopped going because of how crowded and "club" it turned into. Just want to chill, not watch girls trying to be strippers at a hookah lounge to a DJ set.
Review Source:I live in L.A. and have smoked everywhere from Anaheim, and Huntington Beach, to L.A. and Glendale. This place is the best smoke I've ever had! Smooth, clean flavors, and more importantly ... clean hookahs. It was perfect! They even had kept the hoses in the freezer from the night before, so we had cold hoses and cold smoke. The coals were done right, the happy hour was only $8/hookah and prices for everything were very reasonable. This place is definitely the jewel of the desert. I even met AJ the owner and Steve one of the workers there. They immediately treated my friend and I like family. Any time I am in the Palm Springs / Palm Desert area, I will most definitely stop by and smoke at West Coast Hookah. 5 Stars! Keep up the good job guys!
Review Source:The desolate region of Palm Desert is no place for the budding post-teen youth who long to spread their wings and fly from their parents' nest, seeking the fun, independence, and excitement of college. Â Some manage to make it out alive, never to see the dry merciless sun and sands of the Coachella Valley ever again....that is until the university's vacations force them back into the sandy abyss from which they came. Â What's a poor social college kid to do?
West Coast Hookah may be as small as your parents' basement, but if it's anyone who knows how to have fun in a fun-sized room filled with fruity flavored smoke, it's the18-25 year old demographic that populates this place like bunnies. Â Come here on a busy weekend night and you'll see kids frolicking to the unofficial "dance off corner" where they pop and lock to Skrillex after getting their lightheaded high off Code 69 tobacco.
I have enjoyed every experience I've had hear because of all the informal festivities that occur here. Â The quality of hookah is satisfying, and the staff, no matter how busy it seems to get, gets their shit together and coordinates to provide efficient service to every party. Â The lounge is abuzz with social activity that doesn't involve excessive grinding or drunken debauchery. Â Every time I come to visit my boyfriend in Indio, I feel as if this environment never detracts from quality time together; despite the fact that on a busy day our conversations sound like shouting matches, it's worth it to get the experience of an active and fun environment.
Kinda low quality. Â The place seems empty. Â Cheap couches; no curtains, decor, signage.
Pretty nice TVs and cheap hookah, but nothing much beyond that.
Every time you go there you're guaranteed to have a bunch of teenagers hanging out, not really doing much.
No liquor license.
A far, FAR cry from hookah lounges/bars in SD and LA.
i was here in palm desert for vacation, coming from anaheim/garden grove. and theres a shit load of hookah bars there that we go to all the time. when we came down here to palm desert, me and my friends wanted to hit up a nice hookah place. went on yelp and found this place. saw the reviews and hoped that the reviews were true. and they were! pretty good place. the manager, AJ was really nice and so were the coal guys and the dj! the hookah quality was pretty good. used coco shells which is a plus! kinda pricey, 15 bucks. but atleast they dont charge +tax! lol. and nice atmosphere aswell. only downfall were the other people going there. really rude, and think they own the place.. there's this one group with a guy wanting to start a fight with my buddy. it was really sad. but other than that pretty chill place to come with your friends :)
Review Source:Awesome hookah bar!
Went in with a group of friends and didn't know what to expect. It's a low lit place, nice comfortable seating. We were comfortably greeted. Young staff but they defintely know what they're doing. They have a good number of flavors and the guy behind the counter recomended us good/popular choices. Offered us drinks and let us chose our seats. They have wall mounted TVs and a good selection of music (Drake, Wiz, etc).
It took about ten-fifteen minutes or so to have our two hookahs brought to us ready to go. He told us which hookah was what flavor and wished us a good session.
Upon smoking, it was comfortable and smooth, an hour passed and still no harshness. The guy came back to put new coals on and left us to it. We could have easily sat another hour with the hookahs still goin but we were finished.
The guy thanked us for coming as we left. If you're looking for a small chill hookah bar in the area I'd forsure go back.
I was visiting Palm Desert from Los Angeles and decided to check out this newly-opened hookah lounge. As an avid hookah smoker, I am very skeptical when rating lounges. Right when we walked in (a group of 4 girls) we were greeted by a very friendly owner. Looking at the prices, I was stunned at how cheap everything was and expected to get low quality hookah. To my surprise, they bring out a KM hookah packed with Starbuzz flavors, lit by Coco Naras. The charcoal guy was very sweet and attentive. The atmosphere was very chill and they were playing the latest songs and even taking requests. The entire staff had a friendly demeanor and checked up on us frequently.
I'm definitely going to give them a visit the next time I'm in the area.
A chill lounge, that bumps the latest music as well as anything you request. They have a variety of chi chi ( flavored tobacco) and are offering fruit bowls which I didn't even know you could do! #1 Thing is that the people who work there were super friendly and nice. Honestly its just a COOL PLACE to chill and relax with friends :)
