My husband had the steak. Â He seemed happy enough with it. Â I had the trout which was very good. Â The baked potatoes were good too. Â Veggies were a little disappointing as they seemed like someone just opened up a can of corn and tossed them in the microwave. Â Salad was basic, but fresh.
The ambience in here is fun with the paintings on the wall and whatnot. Â The waitress we had was superb. Â Friendly and attentive without being annoying - we never went long without a drink refill, but she didn't hover.
I don't know if it was because we came near the end of restaurant service (the bar stays open past the kitchen), or if it was just because it wasn't terribly crowded, but they didn't mind that we hung out nursing a couple beers for a while. Â It had been a long drive in the car that day and it was nice to relax!
The food on its own merit probably only warrants 3 stars, but the atmosphere pushed it up to 4 :)
Took the family here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Amazing food both times. It used to be a old time drug store, if you look down at the original wooden floor you can see where the old shelves stood. Great old atmosphere. Servers where extremely nice, food portions are a little bigger then what we are used to on the east coast. My favorite was the steak, big and juicy. Bring some quarters for the kids to play a game of pool.
