Westpark Motor Inn

I try to stay loyal to local non-chain restaurants and will give 2nd, 3rd and more chances. When I heard this restaurant had a new menu I thought I would try them out ok. For the record in the past the food has always been hit or miss. This time we got a carryout for three. Lets start with the positive. We ordered their beer battered onion rings. They were very good. One of us ordered their Ham and Cheese on a Ciabatta bread. That too was pretty tasty. The girl at front desk who took order was very nice and efficiently took our order and got it for us quickly when picked up.  The negative.  We ordered the $5.00 Beer battered Onion Rings. This small order came in a Big Mac size Box. For $5.00 I expected more or bigger onion rings. We've had similar problems with their fried mushrooms. Very good but sometimes they really skimped on them for the money.  One of us ordered their Philly Cheese Burger. Although he says it was good there was almost none of the grilled onions and peppers on it. Again with the skimping. I ordered their Lamb Gyro. Although the meat was tasty there wasnt much of it. And the pita bread they used was old and dried out. When they tried to wrap it it just broke. And last and least. The french fries which was the one thing they didn't skimp on were tasteless generic fries that tasted baked and not fried which would be a good thing for the health conscious.
I hate to deter anyone from trying Benchwarmers as there are many more items on the menu we haven't tried but I also hope the restaurant takes our critique into consideration. You have what it takes to be a great restaurant. Just tweak a few things and quit being so skimpy on others.

The restaurant is called Benchwarmers.  They have a good menu and the food is well-prepared. I particularly enjoy the Cherry chicken Alfredo, try it!
